The chips here are amazing! They have some chili powder sprinkled on them and they are to so, so GOOD! Probably the best chips over ever had. The updated lighting and newly remodeling is nice and I feel my lunch is about to be great, until.... The beers are a great price during happy hour, but the margarita I had smelt like fish. Horrible smell in the glass, I changed to dos xx and no smell. Not sure if it's the margarita or the glass. I got lunch fajitas which the server asked, "Sour Cream, Guacamole and Cheese okay?" I said, "yep" only to find out it's $1.50 per item!!! Dinner portion comes with one, lunch comes with none. That's ridiculous, fajitas need to come with something, not just meat. 3 Torttillas came with it and they charge for more. I didn't much care for the steak fajitas the meat was bland and tou, but the taco salad is GINORMOUS! read more

Very disappointing first (and now our last) visit to this establishment. We came at 5 p.m. on Sunday, Mother's Day for a meal on our way home after a show. We have driven by this place for years and been curious, and I was craving Mexican food. I mean, who can mess up chicken fajitas? Well...El Paseo can. I was served chicken fajitas with dry chicken, and I had already decided "well, now we know" and knew we wouldn't be back. It wasn't worth complaining about because sometimes restaurants just aren't great, but it's not worth making a fuss. I mean, I make my fair share of dry chicken! My husband got some big platter and it had a guacamole challupah which was basically a dry corn shell with a dollup of guac in the middle. I could tell he wasn't impressed when he said, "I don't know if this meal is worth a 'cheat day.'" So, after I started putting together my fajita (and the flour tortillas are clearly not made in-house) I noticed the vegetables were inedible. Completely burned to a crisp! I usually eat some of the veggies, so I tried to pick out an onion or two that were ok, but it was SO BAD. You could smell the burnt food. Our server was a young guy and he was running around serving tables behind us drinks and by the time he came by to check on us, at least 15 min with our meal had gone by. I had time to eat two dry chicken fajita tacos with cheese and pico (that you pay extra for LOL). He finally came over to ask if everything was good, so I said to him, "you all served me veggies that are burnt!" He says "Oh no, and apologizes and says he's going to the kitchen. I was done with what I wanted to eat, so when he offered to bring me a "bowl of veggies" to solve the issue I said no. I didn't want anything else to eat here. He offered me more diet pepsi. No. My meal was done. He apologized a few times but seemed befuddled when he brought the check and I said, "are the fajitas on there?" He said "yes, ma'am, do you want me them taken off?" I said, "Um, yes of course, they were burned!!" Eventually a young woman came over (a manager?) and started questioning ME as though I had done something wrong. She saw the CHARRED veggies and had the nerve to ask me, "Well, didn't he try to solve the problem?" I was shocked because it's rare when I complain anywhere, but if I do I expect to be treated with respect. I told her he offered veggies, but my husband and I both tried to explain that was over 15 min into the meal and so it wasn't worth getting "new veggies." Then she looked at me and annoyedly asked, "Well, how was the chicken?" I said, "Well, the chicken was dry but I wasn't going to make a big deal out of it." Again she says, "So, he tried to solve the problem." Finally I said, "I'm on a diet and so didn't want any more food by the time he came over and offered me vegetables." She says, "and you're asking for a full removal of the item? "(on the bill) I was, because that's what any (other) restaurant would do but my husband said, "No just portion." Her words to that was she would give an "applicable refund." She was acting like I BURNED THE FOOD!!!!! What ever happened to "The customer is always right?!" The waiter came back, and 1/2 the cost of the fajitas had been removed ($9 off of the $18 charge). The waiter says, "They took of 1/2 is that ok?" I wanted to say "NO!" Not because I care about the $9, because I don't, but because there is NO REASON to be rude to a customer. NO ONE would eat veggies like that. And to not even apologize as a manager, but to start questioning me is bad customer service. read more

Had a pretty good time sitting at the bar. I wish I could remember the bartenders name. I ordered the Polla A La Mexicana. Was delicious. Lots of chicken. Next time I'm going to wither ask them.to blister the tomatoes or not get them with it. I got it with corn tortillas which is the only way to eat tacos. Asked for a side of grilled jalopenos. They brought me a good small bowls worth. Little oily but still ate them. Had saved some a of my queso with chorizo to eat with it. It used to be excellent !! Fajitas for 2 were plenty. This last time it was maybe 3 pieces of chicken and 2 pieces meat. For 40 dls Chips change a little bit too and that was the best part of it all. Great chips and salsa but the amount of food absolutely ruined it for us and won't be back. It was absolutely unacceptable. We decided to eat here for the first time and it was not a good experience. My brother ordered a quesadilla and they gave him enchiladas. I ordered some simple fajita nachos, they came out barely luke warm, stale, and the cheese felt fake. When I asked to heat it up it took a long time and when I finally got it back it just was not appetizing, only hadn't like 2 bites. When we came in it was relatively empty and soon after it started filling up, however, our food came out way after everyone else. My wife and I ordered beef enchiladas and flour tortillas online. The enchiladas were dry with the most minimal amount of sauce on them. The small parts of the take out tray for the rice and beans were half filled. The tortillas were ice cold. This isn't the first time I've had a disappointing meal from El Paseo. I have mixed feelings about this restaurant. If I could give them 3 1/2 stars I would. First, let me say that our server, Mondo, gave excellent service! He was very friendly and attentive. I was with my daughter, son-in-law, and their baby, and he took good care of us. I was glad to learn from my son-in-law, that they had a changing table in the men's room. Mom's like that! I ordered fajita nachos and a pina colada. My daughter and son-in-law ordered enchiladas and the chicken taco salad. Theirs was beautiful and they loved it. The nachos were pretty average, but the meat was seasoned nicely , but slightly over cooked for my taste. The beans had a good enough flavor. What was incredible was the chips and salsa! The chips had a good crunch and we're peppered with chili powder seasoning. They paired nicely with the savory salsa. Yum! My pina colada was super weak, so I sent it back. It came back the same. My wife and I were in the area yesterday and decided to stop at El Paseo, it was about 1 o'clock Friday afternoon. We were seated immediately as there was no crowd. The restaurant was clean and neat. The staff was quick prompt. Our waiter was attentive and pleasant. I loved the chips and salsa. The chips were sprinkled with what I believe is cumin and paprika and other spices, the salsa was delicious. When I asked for some Verdes salsa on my enchiladas, the waiter warned me that they were spicy. It was it's mostly a jalapeño sauce, not tomatillo sauce. The food came out quickly. It was prepared exactly the order. While the sauce was hot, I was OK with it. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience You might want to remind yourself on Tuesday nights they have a special for couples that would make a nice date night. read more

Today, I stopped in here with my MIL and I was very disappointed. We have eaten here many times in the past and it's usually been pretty good. Today, the waiter started off friendly, so I really expected a good experience. This time, I ordered a combination lunch fajita meal and she had a chicken taco salad. I cannot recall another time in my life that I've ordered fajitas and they didn't come out steaming hot. The meat for both of our meals was lukewarm at best. Both the chicken and the beef for my fajitas were extremely dry and seemed as though they had been sitting out for hours. The beef was also very chewy. I asked the waiter for some sour cream and TOLD him it was because it was so dry. He offered no apology but brought it out promptly. After the meal was complete, I told him again that our meals were subpar and again he offered no apology and said he would definitely mention it. When he brought the check, he actually charged us $1.50 for the sour cream I needed just to make it edible. We generally tip very well, but not today. Sadly, I don't think we will return to this location. read more

Last minute decision to come here after our go-to lunch spot down the street was super busy. This place ended up getting packed as well. We were seated promptly and chips and salsa were immediately brought out. The chips had a seasoning on them which I'm not usually fond of. The salsa was good with a nice spicy kick. We also ordered the queso with meat which didn't disappoint. I ordered the carne guisada and while it was delicious, I thought the meat was a little tough. The seasoning was good and the portion was generous. The rice was a tad bit on the salty side, but I thought the beans were delicious. Customer service was great. Everyone was friendly and pleasant. Overall, it was a great first experience so 4 stars for that. I probably won't be back due to the crowd which is just a personal preference but that shows that lots of people like this place! read more

Absolutely downhill ! As a very frequent customer for the last 25 years I will no longer go. The last 3 visits to either FW or Azle location we all became very sick shortly after leaving. Last night the ground beef was so horrible it wasn't edible. Was advised discretely by a server new products were being served in the food rather than home cooked as they always had been. We knew without being told it was different. Do better El Paseo! Only if you want to keep your customers !!!! read more

I have been coming to El paseo with my family since I was very young. I believe that it is a testament to a great restaurant when it has been mostly the same front of house staff since I was a child. Their food is amazing I always get the flautas de pollo and they always make a killer margarita. Juan is an amazing and attentive server that i love to see every time i dine. They just renovated the restaurant and it is a beautiful dining area that now has space to fit many large parties. Highly reccomend read more

We wanted to eat Tex-Mex after our return from Rockport Texas. The wife and I treated grandsons Evan, Triston, Austin and family friend Camden. Triston, Austin and Camden ordered cheese enchiladas. My wife and Evan ordered Chicken enchiladas and I had the combo with two each of soft beef and chicken tacos. We started with a full order of beef and cheese super nachos. Everything was very good.
