I've gotten two haircuts here. The first one was by the owner and it was a very good cut. The second one was by the apprentice and it was one of the worst haircuts I've ever gotten. I understand apprentices need practice and hours, but I was charged $27 (full price) for a terrible haircut I just ended up fixing at home. I support small businesses but apprentices shouldn't be charging full price. read more

I lived in Lakeside for about 2 years before moving back to Fresno and during those 2 years Benjamin has always been my go to barber. I would go to him weekly but as my budget grew tighter i would only go every other week. I never left his shop disappointed. The way he cut and styled my hair always came out exactly how i wanted it. His barber shop is truly a hidden gem. He has great attention to detail and uses/sells quality products like Johnny B gel. I have been having my haircut here for almost 14 years. It is convenient, reasonably priced (Yes, it has gone up in this time), and well done. When my three year-old twin boys are old enough to be able to sit still enough to have their hair cut here I will bring them along. My only complaint is that they have been forced to temporarily close for the duration of the emergency. Luckily I anticipated that and got in before the closure. My husband took our 4 year old for the first time but doesn't have a Yelp account, so I'm writing a review for him. He didn't tell me the barber's name but he said he was very friendly. After the haircut, the barber asked if my son wanted colored hair (Hair spray, will wash out) and my son gladly said yes. No other hair salon/barbershop has ever done this. My husband said it seems like there's a small section of different fun hairsprays for kids and not sure what else. My son loves his blue hair and can't wait to show it off to his friends in school :) This was obviously great customer service and he really made my kid really happy. I've been coming to this shop for about two years now. Initially, both of the guys were great. I loved my haircuts every time. This changed when I was waiting in line one day, and some people showed up who appeared to know the older barber. They wished to cut in front of me, and I would gladly let them, but I was in a hurry that day. The older barber since then has been giving me bad looks and I can really feel an unwanted energy from him. I have managed to get my hair cut by the younger barber, because I absolutely love his service, he is very knowledgeable and will tell you everything he is doing to your hair. I went in the other day and I was up next with the older gentlemen, let me tell you that he gave me the WORST AND MOST FUCKED UP HAIRCUT THAT I HAVE EVER GOTTEN. First off, he would squeeze my head really hard which made me feel a great amount of pain. I know this was intentional because Ive been getting haircuts all of my life, and I know the amount of pressure that needs to be put on somebodys head. Then he proceeded to mistreat my head as he shaved it really aggressively while repeatedly cutting the back of my head. He did a really half ass job cutting my hair and I could tell because he didn't even bother to line me up with the razor at the end. when he was "done," he began to blow dry my hair. At first I thought I was being a pussy because it was hurting my head, until I saw my hair steaming with how long he was holding it in place. IT WAS BURNING. I ended up shoving the blow dryer away from my hair into his face, because I know that it was intentional. I believe he is doing this to show that I am unwelcome to his barbershop, but I know these practices are wrong and I will retaliate with legal action. I will let the owner clearly know, that you can not mistreat people just because of your fucking family, with the law. Please only come here if you will get your hair done by the younger and more proffessional barber. read more

I brought my son in for a "faux-hawk" style cut. There were a few people in front of us, which I thought was a good sign. We didn't have to wait long as Benjamin is quick and proficient. My son loves his cut. And the best part is the cost. $7 for kids and Seniors, $9 for a style-cut. Only $9 for adults. It is a steal as Benjamin proved to be a true professional.
