Meadowmere Park - Sunset from site 24 on 4/1/23

I was super impressed with this park! There's a gate to the entrance, which is open as of right now…read more8-8pm(sunset). After the gate is closed if you need to be let out, you have to call the police. But there's so much to do here! Not just the swimming area! There's a hiking trail, playground and walking trails. Beautiful views and plenty of space to social distance yourself. The trails are available for no fee as far as I could tell, but the swimming area near WhoaZone is $5. They do not take cash, only debit/credit card. The swimming area has a playground and picnic areas. I think there's a spot to cast your kayaks off over there too, but I stayed near the beach and didn't explore anything else. I saw vehicles with kayaks going over on the other side. If you have water shoes, I'd say bring them and a beach umbrella as there's no shade. The sand isn't too uncomfortable to lie in, there's just cigarette butts here and there. But I definitely recommend visiting for the day or even camping if you're into it!

Someone recommended this to me as a "sandy beach". It is a beach, and there is some sand, but the…read moreshore is probably a 50/50 mix of packed dirt and sharp pebbles. OUCH! The rock bottom extends out a couple of yards into the water, where it turns to clay. For swimmers, the rockiness is less of an issue - get past the rocks and swim/float your heart out, but the rocks along the shore make it significantly less enjoyable for babies. Running along the shore and splashing in the shallow water is painful without water shoes. For a true SANDY BEACH, check out Twin Points Park at Eagle Mountain Lake or Little Elm on Lake Lewisville instead. Twin Points is nicer, if you're deciding between the two. Pros: it's a pretty spot, with nice views. Plenty of parking - $5 per car. CREDIT/DEBIT ONLY. There is a dock for jumping off (which we didn't notice until we were leaving, sadly!). Not very crowded on a Saturday in August. Pretty clean, other than the bathrooms. Alcohol permitted (or if not permitted, certainly not regulated). Days swimming at the lake are SO MUCH FUN! Aside from the rocky shore, the only big negative was how gross the bathrooms were. We were there pretty early, so clearly they aren't cleaned daily. Also, the whoa zone is SO EXPENSIVE!!!! It looks fun but I cannot wrap my head around the fact that people pay that much to be there. It's $22 a person for ONE HOUR! Mon-Thurs they also offer a $50 all day pass. For our family of 7, I consider that cost prohibitive. Overall, it was a fun day at the lake, but Meadowmere Park is just not the best DFW has to offer.

We went for a baseball World Series and I have actually been to these fields before, just never did…read morea review. The fields are great! One of the best baseball fields to play at in my opinion out of several other locations we've been to. Covered bleacher seating for guests and room for your own chairs if you choose to sit closer to the baseline areas on each side (home and visitor). Clean bathrooms and just overall, the park areas are well kept. Amazing playground for kids/players to hang out. Fields are labeled to find easier. Amazing concession with fresh grilled food you can order (burgers, sausage on a stick, etc). We also had the opportunity to visit and play at the Softball Complex fields. Very nice fields and a batting cage area before the main entrance (on the small parking lot side). At these fields the sun comes in way more even with some of the covered bleacher seating (Bring your portable fans, stadium chairs for convenience, small cooler, etc.). Not as much room for your own chairs at these fields like the other baseball fields. Some of our team parents sat behind the last row of bleachers, near the trash cans so it was kinda tight. Plus when people walk back and forth it can get more crowded. There are also small areas with turf next to the bleachers that is good for bringing blankets to sit/lay (good area for smaller kids, teens and even adults if you like the picnic style type of seating/vibe.

This is an annual even that The City of Flower Mound puts on. Let me just say, that I love…read morefestivals but this one is very "country." We came here because my wife has a girlhood crush on Rick Springfield, who I must say did a great job. The other bands were not good at all. The reason I am giving this festival 3 stars is because when we checked the website out, it noted no coolers, no anything basically. So I was like okay, as long as there is concession I am cool. But seriously... only two beer station for what I counted as 20 to 40 thousand people showing up... the lines were ridiculously long. So what I chop it up to is come with little expectation. Bring your cooler as people did with water... and just enjoy the "country" atmosphere.

I'm going to give this event 5 Stars, but I would be a damn lie if I didn't admit that I barely…read moreremember it. I do remember that the folks that sell alcohol are super nice and use lines like, "It looks like you need another drink, buddy!" or "You are free in America - free to enjoy another drink!" Also, there were Beto for Senate canvassers everywhere. There were also vendors and local community resource tables there. I somehow eneded up with a towle from a family law attorney. That was cool. I ran in to some acquaintances too. That memory is fuzzy. I remember hugging someone I only met once. Lots of fist bumps too. Before you get mad at the event - I pregamed like a champ. Before you get mad at me - I took a Lyft to and fro. Glad I did! Parking was a small jaunt from the event, it seemed. The opening cover band wasn't bad. A local business owner (that seemed further in than me) said that they were a cover band with a rotating cast or characters. Sounded good. Seemed cool. I didn't make it all the way to Pat Green, nor the foreworks, but I had a great time. Only criticism - a TON of cash only things.
