Wanted to love this place but it was the biggest disappointment ever. My sweet tea tasted horrible and they didn't even put the lid on correctly causing it to spill all over me.. (should've known from there.) and the chicken friend chicken had SO MUCH PEPPER ON IT! Wasn't even edible it was disgusting. Honest Review: Store: Looks very clean and new inside Customer service: very nice, however, need to be better at paying more attention to the table. IE: refill water or coffee, if more napkins needed, maybe might order more food, etc. Speed: I would say it's moderate, not to slow or to fast. I came when it wasn't busy so might be much slower when there busy. Food: Bacon wasn't crispy, eggs were okay, hash brown was not crispy, sausage was very good, pancakes could be better. Overall: I would give it another chance, I love going to new breakfast spots to find gems out there. This place has potential however, need more training with staff for waitresses and cooks. I am giving this place a win because I actually didn't eat while I was there. I got a meat skillet and asked for it to be without him and they brought it to the table with a ton of ham. Benny's Cafe is a cute breakfast/brunch spot perfect for family and friend gatherings. Their prices are very reasonable, servings are large, and their overall food quality is good. I really enjoyed the crispy, flavorful chicken fried chicken, the fluffy pancakes, and the sweet yogurt parfait with generous servings of fresh berries. The freshly squeezed OJ was a winner as well. I didn't care much for the hash browns, which were very soft under the crunchy exterior. Nor did I like the dry sausage. Eggs and bacon were standard. Service was friendly but not fast. It was our first time going into this place after reading the reviews on yelp it seemed like a nice place to eat. Not to busy for a Sunday very cute & clean on the inside. We were seated & brought coffee & water right away. Our waitress seemed to busy.. after she took our order and brought us our food she acted like her job was done at our table. She never came back to refill our drinks or to ask us if everything came out ok. We had to ask another waitress for refills and napkins... which was disappointing. The next time we saw our waitress was when she brought us our check about 30 minutes after she brought us our food. The food was very mainstream but at least it came out hot. Overall appreciated the large menu options and cleanliness of the restaurant but was not impressed with the food or the service. Delicious! Found this place on the internet while searching for "brunch" restaurants, we decided to give it a try! The place was clean, service was so fast for a Saturday morning, we were seated immediately! Coffee smelled amazing & was so good! They offer different coffee creamers as well. We went to Benny's for breakfast today. I ordered the Eggs Benedict, and my wife ordered the Very Berry Waffle. We got our food pretty fast (which I like and hot) I had coffee which was Segrifredo supplied. The eggs benedict were good, but the ham was paper-thin. The hash browns were golden brown, and the portions were a good size. My wife's waffle was a bit soggy. We prefer them to be crisp but not crunchy. All in all, we will go back when we are in the neighborhood. I would say that this is an average breakfast place. The prices are very fair. read more

I've only been in this restaurant a couple of times. I had just finished putting my mom's ashes in the cemetery. I hadn't eaten breakfast so I was both physically hungry and mentally kind of tired. The waitress was wonderful her name was Kelli. And the food was really good. I've tried another local restaurant chain, that I will not name, and this is so far superior in quality and tastiness! Each of the items I ordered, an omelette, hash browns, and pancakes (of course) we're all good in their own right. Plus I got the world's largest glass of apple juice :-) not one of those little bitty take two sips and it's gone deals. They gave me a big glass. Got to like that! read more

Our meal today for brunch at Benny's Cafe in McKinney was great. Though we live just East of Mckinney we learned about Bennie's in Colleyville, TX from some special friends there. Both were 5-star restaurants. The hostess seated us immediately but my friends said that it is not unusual to have a 10-15 minute wait because of the 5-star rating in Colleyville. Benny's opens at 6AM (7 on Sunday) and closes at 3:00 PM Our servers were courteous/friendly, and prompt to respond to our requests/drink refills. The food was great. I've always given Benny's a 5 except for today. I go about the same time and weekend as before. Same amount of people being served and waiting for a table. I was seated quicker than normal. They had a clean dining room as always. My waiter, whom I've never seen before, had a bit of an attitude, something I've never experienced before (he must be the new guy who replaced a waitress who was an exceptional server). I let it go since he's the new guy and appeared to be overwhelmed (I know how that felt as I was once a waitress). Then came the food, of which I ordered with NO hashbrowns with the breakfast sandwich. I just wanted a side of pancakes with it. He served it anyways and I reminded him no hashbrowns. He replied by saying the kitchen plated them. What he should have done was tell them to re plate without them. That's when he had the attitude problem. I kindly reminded him for future reference. I asked him to bring my pancakes while I wait. He said the kitchen was backed up for some nonsense reason. I asked him if he could send the manager over (just to let her know I've been here before and never had a negative experience) to let her know the lack of communication between him and the kitchen. Went there last Sunday for first time due to good review on yelp. We arrived around quarter to 10 am and sat down immediately, fortunately not wait. Restaurant has good service, family oriented place. Coffee was refilled several times throughout our dining. We ordered our must-order, Chicken Fried Chicken(whenever we visit the first time at a southern style breakfast restaurant ). it was disappointed. Breading/batter was too dry and thick, reminds me of eating from Grandy's drive-thru or at Denny's. Chicken taste like fake meat, perhaps from packaging meat, delivered from food company. Pancake is dry and not fluffy. Coffee taste just ok, not excellent. The restaurant has good ambient, spacious and bright, feels clean, but the food is definitely over rated. Incredible breakfast! We had the CFC and eggs as well as the Biscuit and Gravy Combo breakfast. Tried the cold brew and hot coffee...BOTH excellent! The CFC was extremely tender, flavorful and light.
