Oh Bennys Tacos... where do I even begin. This is the best Al pastor taco I've ever had in my life. And this is coming from someone who has had street tacos in Mexico City, in a hole in the wall (a literal hole in the wall) where 5 dudes were crammed in and served me Al pastor. I'm an out of state college student and everytime I'm back home I make it necessary to make a visit to Benny's. The tacos here make me feel emotions I haven't felt since my last girlfriend and I broke up. Not sure who Benny actually is but his tacos are tremendous. read more

Order at the front and they bring it to you. I got the street taco plate and an horchata. 2 barbacoa and 2 al pastor were my choices. SFG! Tender, juicy and flavorful. Great tortillas too. The horchata had a sprinkle of cinnamon on top. I will be back! read more

The tacos, embarrassingly tiny and flavorless. I'm only giving a star for the one slice of avocado that I got. If you're seriously considering spending the crazy price for this plate, please do yourself a favor and walk two blocks west and get quality and value for your money. First of all the food was good. What surprised to see difference on menu prices at the restaurant then were on line. I can somewhat expect that these days. What really ragged me was the fact that the owner automatically added 15% to a take out order without saying anything ahead of time. When I got the amount of the bill I asked to see it and that's what was going on. When I asked him about it he said oh it's good for me and not so good for you huh? Moving up to Berthoud after living in Denver, where there is so much authentic Mexican food, I felt like everywhere we tried came up short. That is until we founds Bennys. Holy Hanna, the green chili is to die for, a perfect pairing to the the crispy chili rellenos and turnovers. The tacos are also amazing! Second visit with mixed results. Camarones ala diabla were very good on first visit. Burrito one 2nd visit was subpar for an authentic offering - just average. Service was as expected during first visit but second visit was another story - the person taking orders spent his attention taking an order from someone that effectively cut in line then to make matters worse bussed a table before serving me and the line that formed after me. Hint: serve people in the order they arrive and make them a priority. Music was too loud to carry on a conversation. The food is pretty good but the service needs work. read more

Love Saturday morning Breakfast Burritos from Benny"s tacos, starts off my day great! YumYum!!

I ordered the Tacos Dorados, husband had steak fajitas and son had a chicken burrito supreme. We also ordered chips and salsa and drinks. The chips were made fresh and so crispy and the salsa was perfect! Tacos needed a little more meat but good flavor. Husband and son both enjoyed their entrees. We'll definitely go back! read more

The food was fresh and so tasty. The salsa was just the right amount of spice, chips came out hot, and the guac was creamy. I only wish the guac had a bit more lime. We absolutely love Benny's! It's our favorite go to for Mexican food around! Benny is always around, friendly and kind! His food is delicious and reasonably priced! My husband had the margarita last week and it was wonderful, with plenty of tequila, which he's never said before at any other Mexican restaurant we've been to in it 23 years together! We tried Benny's Tacos today. I'm a little disappointed but not entirely displeased. The server was very busy and managed to remain pleasant. That's a thumb's up. We were told by other customers to seat ourselves since we stood at front of dining area for a few minutes without being greeted. Benny's could use a sign directing customers to 'seat yourself' or 'wait to be seated' - being lost right off the bat is a bit frustrating. So we sat ourselves and then watched the two servers going about their business next to the bar area - one server waited on the dining area, the other hung around bar and did bring a few plates out. No one greeted us at our table for another five minutes. Finally one of the servers came to our table and asked what we wanted to drink. I asked for root beer. No root beer so I then asked "what do you have?" I was given a blank look so I picked up menu and had to find the drinks section- the menu did not arrive until the server arrived so I did not have an opportunity to look for the fountain section. I ordered iced tea for my aunt and I. And I realized chips and salsa are not provided on the house like all the other Mexican restaurants I've been to so I ordered chips and salsa. $$ Without even ordering a lunch yet my tab was already $10+ We took all of five minutes to read menu (my aunt has a brain injury and can't read so I had to read the menu to my aunt 3 times.) We finally get to order and we've been in restaurant for 15+ minutes. We wait. 5 minutes later the tea and chips arrive. Chips eaten and tea half gone ..... We wait 25 more minutes and finally our lunch is brought to us. The flautes were okay, a bit over cooked for me and the green chili 'salsa' was more of a green vinegar sauce not a salsa. My aunt's enchiladas were tasty as were the beans and the rice was 'meh' as far as Mexican rice goes. So $38 for a lunch that was slow in manifesting and watching our server work her tush off I'm thinking we will not be visiting again any time soon. I know I'm biased taste wise because of being raised on Sonoran/Arizona 'Mexican' cuisine - I'm not entirely disappointed in the food but The seat yourself and slow service and no help with discovering something to drink and having to buy the chips and salsa are a negative. Not sure we'll return. $38 (includes tip) is a lot for a lunch for two. read more

Very accommodating. Burrito was good and my husband's ground beef burrito was good. Guacamole and chips great.

This restaurant is the same as the one in Longmont, that one is super popular & always busy. The tacos are street tacos, so pretty typical street taco size. I do think $10 for 4 street tacos is a little much and would prefer to pay closer to $8, but it's not enough to make me not go. They are pretty quick, 5-15 minutes to get food out. The restaurant is a little dark & the music can be a little loud, but overall the food is good. The al pastor is SO good. You do have to pay for chips & salsa, but I don't typically get it so that's not a huge deal. read more

Came to Benny's for lunch, and I am glad I did. I had the street tacos, which were pretty darn good. As was pointed out in other reviews, you seat yourself when you get in, and there is usually one server for the entire place, which can be frustrating. You order from a menu with the server, so you are at their mercy for waiting on drinks, your check etc. I did order chips and salsa, because it's not complimentary, but I think in the future I would forgo them as they weren't worth the money or calories. I think if they added some more help, this would be on my list for more regular lunch visits. read more
