Prices are too high for the amount and quality of the food you get. It's a quaint little place in a growing but small community. The waitress was very nice and the place was a little dated but nice and clean. We were the only customers there so of course the service was good. The food was OK but nothing exceptional. I mentioned that it is in a small but growing community but this place has adopted big city pricing. I usually go to Summit Tacos for a fact local bite, but yesterday I thought I'd try another of Longmont's local businesses. I hate it to say it, but these were the worst tacos I ever had (and I'm from the east coast where there isn't much Mexican food!). The meat was dry, fatty, and chewy. The carnitas were the best of the four kinds I tried, but I couldn't finish the al pastor. Furthermore, I paid over $25 for four street tacos (their minimum order is 4...annoying) and a soda once you added the credit card fee, tip (set at 15-25% with no custom option...even though you order at a counter). These tacos did not come with a side. The taco plate at Summit tacos is about the same price but you get beans and rice). A few days before I ate at Santiago's and for $21 (including tax and tip!) I had a huge fajita plate. Service was fine. Ambiance was fine too, but it was eerily quiet in there with no music playing. read more

So I'll start off, this place has amazing breakfast burritos and their waitstaff is phenomenal. That said, we came here for a dine in dinner tonight and it just didn't hit the Mark. No drink menu which isn't horrible but it's no fun for staff to rattle off their various drink options when I could just read and order. The Margarita I did have was pretty good though. They start you off with chips and salsa. Sing off my chips had too much salt, some had no salt. The salsa was watery and had no flavor. My husband ordered the quesadilla supreme. He asked for beef and got chicken, one portion of the quesadilla was just cheese. It looked great but was bland. Rice and beans tasted store bought. I got the tacos dorados which looked great but the meat was watery and there was a huge portion of lettuce that took over the taco. The tacos had no flavor so i don't know if they season their meat with anything. I used the salsas that came on the side and that helped some. Overall? Nice place good atmosphere and great staff. They just need to up their food game because we'd rather drive the 10-15 minutes to Hacienda Jalisco or Rancheros. We will keep coming for those breakfast burritos though! read more

My friend who used to live in Mead wanted to try this place, so who am I to say no to tacos? Looking at the menu they have quite a few items you can order a la carte, so I decided to try a chicken enchilada, a soft chile relleno, a taco dorado, and a taco al pastor. The chicken enchilada I received barely had any meat in it. It was flat on the two open ends of the enchilada and the center had maybe one or two bites of chicken in it. It tasted good but it was a dissapointment that it wasn't a full enchilada. The soft chile relleno was probably the best item of the four. It wasn't fully stuffed with cheese, but the flavor of the relleno with the green chile on top was really delicious. The taco dorado barely had any meat or cheese in it, and it was super flavorless. When I think of a taco dorado, I think of it being more of a fried, meaty, cheesy yumminess. This taco just wasn't what I was expecting and I would not order it again. The taco al pastor tasted really great, but again, not much filling to it at all. Our waitress Jasmine was great. She was super warm, welcoming, and friendly. Super personable. I'd give her a star alone for her service, but the food kind of brought down my rating. Overall, yes I would return in the future to give them another try. I understand that they are a newer joint, so I'm hoping they can get their tacos in line for a better review in the future. read more

Josie's has my favorite authentic Colorado breakfast burrito in town, on the burrito quality alone but also for the staff, atmosphere, and salsa quality. Recently, I've also learned about how good the dine-in experience and other menu options can be. Breakfast Burrito - I feel like I've sampled enough of Longmont's options to call this my favorite because I try a new shop's breakfast burrito every week or so before a hike/ski day, taking it for the road. I've circled back to Josie's many times over the past couple years and it's still my favorite. Salsa - you can get mild, medium, and hot salsa, as all other places. I like it hot and their', while definitely spicy enough, has this wonderful freshness and flavor to it. As a non spicy option, they'll also do the creamy verde salsa which is fantastic on everything as well. Dine -in - Recently my we actually sat down at Josie's for breakfast because I like it so much. Staff was on top of everything and charming but also respectful. This time, we made an effort to not get the breakfast burrito and got breakfast taco's instead. I loved these so much in all ways but especially for their corn tortillas, experiencing them for the first time. They reminded me of home made tortillas I've only experienced staying with friends in Mexico. Fresh, textured, and full of real flavor that most won't experience from the mass produced varieties. We went in for lunch yesterday. Tried the tacos. The chicken tacos were good, standard issue street tacos. For some reason everything here has avocado on it, including tacos. The carnitas tacos were appalling. The meat was old, should not have left the kitchen. It was dried out and hard, like it was on the make line for two months with no lid. It was offensive. Also, it didn't look like edible meat but blobs of fat. Mine was off to the side of my plate, the waitress saw it and apologized, she said it looked gross and she was going to have a talk with her cook. They still charged me for it. Street tacos for two, one coke one water = $27 plus tip. As a local, I look forward to whatever occupies this building next. See you in hell Josie. read more

Hubby said there isn't a low enough rating. He had a special that was disgusting and I had nachos which were just ok. The meat definitely needs seasoning. The only thing I liked was the avacado. Both the waitress and bartender were new, but they couldn't find the cork screw for the wine. The staff was nice but we can't go because we like the people. read more

Disregard any negative reviews. I'm from LA and this is the best pastor I've had in Colorado. Although they were short staffed the tacos and service were great. After all it is just tacos so don't listen to anyone who feels like their opinion matters as much as these other lame reviewers. Go to Mexico City if your palette is so damn refined. Josie and family are the real deal and it might actually be the ONLY place to eat in this town. read more
