I did quite a bit of research to find a fair mechanic in the Dallas area and I feel like I made a good choice in going with Ben. According to friends who are knowledgeable with cars, his diagnostic fee was fair and cost for parts and labor on what I had done was about right (diagnostic + new timing belt on Nissan Frontier - a little over $500). What I liked the most was the shop's customer service - Ben explained everything to me (he even offered to call my dad!) and finished the job in a timely manner. I needed some pretty major surface scratches on the door of my F150 repaired. Got an estimate from Ben's and a national chain. Ben's was $500 and the national chain was $775. Ben's got the vehicle in/out as promised (put it in Thurs after work, picked it up Monday morning). Not only did they repair my door, they did some other "touch up" work we hadn't discussed! All for original quote. Door re-spray was PERFECT. Fair price. Did what they said they would do. Did a little more. I will definitely go back to Ben's Auto Repair. read more

I have been using Ben for all my mechanical needs for over 20 years. He is hands down the most honest and caring business owner I have ever worked with. Price is always fair and work is always top notch. My girlfriend's daughter had a gold '94 Pathfinder that got rear ended. The insurance company was going to total it. He fixed everything perfectly. Then came the big deal, she wanted it all white with black trim! We agreed to do it but were skeptical. It is now a white with black trim Pathfinder and you can't tell that it didn't come out of the factory that way! I am constantly asked if I will sell it. My car got stranded and would not start. Me thinking it was my alternator that went out. I called around and got very pricey quotes. I was told to check out Ben's Auto Repair. I am glad I did. Best price I could find near the Addison area. He told me he would check to see if it was the alternator before he worked on my car. I am glad he did, turns out it was my starter that needed to be replaced instead. That right there told me he was honest. I figured they would replace my alternator, then tell me it was the starter after. As of course I once had that happen from a previous time with another auto repair shop. He was very nice and fixed my car right away. It didn't take a week or so, He fixed it on the same day which was very convenient due to the fact I had to Uber myself most the time around the city with work and all. Took my car in there to have an alternator replaced---they replaced it under warranty and all I had to pay for was the labor. They also replaced my serpentine belt "since it was going bad"...2 weeks later, squeaking of the car occurs when I turn my car on and when I accelerate. Take it in there, they replace the serpentine belt---2 weeks later, same problem. Took it back and they replaced a bolt and nut for the idler pulley...4 weeks later, still the same problem, take it back and this time they replace the tensioner...4 weeks later, same problem. FINALLY took it to ACURA and they were cheaper, received a loaner car (I know this is a dealership but its a plus), and no squeaking anymore. They replaced the belt tensioner with the CORRECT ACURA PART that I told them I wanted and they said this would work. HORRIBLE FRONT DESK, HORRIBLE SERVICE, JAMES AT THE FRONT IS A FKN IDIOT. HAS NO IDEA ABOUT CARS AND WILL SPIT ANY BS TO YOU. TAKE IT TO YOUR DEALERSHIP read more

Ben's was not a good experience or value. My car was held longer than was necessary and the work incomplete. Ben's original estimate for body work (hail damage) was good with me before he started, but he ended up charging me more than Three times that amount. Unprofessional estimates, unprofessional billing, and no guarantees on work. Forget about customer service, I got bilked here. I was really hoping for a great experience because Ben came reccommended from a friend. Very disappointing. read more

Ben does amazing work!!!! My car got badly damaged in the hail storm that hit Coppell in April, so I needed a new trunk, roof, hood, mirror, windshields, and many, many dent repairs. Ben has been my mechanic for a year now, so after getting an outrageous quote from the body shop my insurance referred me to, I took my car to him. His price was much more reasonable, and so I was able to fix the whole car and even some extras that I needed. Since this was my first time having to deal with insurance and rental cars I had a LOT of questions and called Ben a lot. He was very patient and friendly with me the whole time, which I really appreciated. Also my car is a unique shade of red, but he matched it perfectly! When I picked up my car the other day it was BEAUTIFUL!!! You would never know it had ever had a dent, it was like getting a brand new car again!
