Delicious breakfast sandwiches prepared hot and fresh. Got the Taylor ham, egg, cheese sandos 1 on everything bagel 1 on Kaiser roll The ham egg cheese piping hot inside was very nice and comforting. Kaiser roll was easier to bite into and delicious, but I ended up preferring it on everything bagel that gave the added salty bites from the everything part lol. First time tourist and wasn't sure on condiments they put on, ketchup & mayo? I went mayo only since ketchup sounded a bit weird. But at checkout, the sweet ladies verified and I asked if good with ketchup and seems like thats what most folks get so got the bagel one with ketchup and mayo. Definitely tasted better with both ketchup and mayo:) Also got a bagel with plain cream cheese. The bagel was fine but the cream cheese had some vanilla taste to it which I didnt like vs the typical plain cc. Not sure if there was a miss or that's what the plain cc tastes like here. Either way I would stick with the freshly prepared breakfast sandwich. Maybe bacon egg cheese sounds better, but wanted to try Taylor ham that many reviews mentioned lol. Nice small bagel shop near Meadowlands Sports Complex to grab some bagels and coffee. Friendly staff they also have some nice lunch specials on hand for those interested, haven't tried but price is very reasonable. Also decent size parking lot by the entrance to the shop. read more

The busyness with the line of customers waiting for food is worth it to come back each time. My go-to breakfsst is egg salad, lettuce, less mayonnaise on a roll. A good portion is given. the cut in half is much appreciated. Service is fast, efficient, and always friendly when we are next. No matter how busy they get, we don't find ourselves waiting too long. Each staff member is responsible for the specific order until ready and served. The atmosphere is comfortable and reminds me of walking into your kitchen at home. They washed the floors. They replaced the rugs. They may have painted as well. I felt much better being a customer there as I had not been back since my first review. Again, inexpensive, workers are friendly/nice. Didn't get anything special, just an onion bagel with veg cream cheese, and it was good. Great local bagel shop offering freshly baked, delicious bagels. Additionally they have a big menu variety of breakfast and lunch items like wraps, sandwiches and salads. Place was hopping during my visit but the staff were moving orders out quickly. This is not a place you would bring your date to for a candle light dinner but they do have 4 tables for anyone wanting to dine in. I did notice that most people were grabbing food to go. Ladies behind the counter were super cool and helpful. Lastly, let's talk about the prices. Bagels were $1. Their menu will drive your taste buds insane because you don't know what to order. The food is so good & made fresh. The staff is super friendly, you can also sit down, plenty of seating. I visited Little Ferry this week and my family recommended me this place. This is the 2nd time I came to this place already. I love their special #8 (thin sliced with fresh mozzarella and toasted garlic Portugese rolls and onion) in along with other breakfast items. Not only their food is delicious, and I love seeing how family-orientated they are as a family is important to me personally. The representative that assisted me, I believe she may be the owner, did not show any awkwardness when I informed her that I am a Deaf individual, and that put it to ease for me to communicate through my mobile phone. The shop is small and is on the corner of an intersection which is easy to find and the parking lot has up to approximately 15 spots, so it shouldn't be an issue to park. The atmosphere there is calm and quiet and can tell a lot of people goes there often which, I believe, says a lot. I needed a place to pick up some brekkie sammies early Saturday morning and that's when I found Ben's Bagel Barn and it was reasonably priced. I called ahead to order 5 items at around 6:15 and they quoted a wait time of about 20 minutes. I arrived half an hour later and the order wasn't quite ready yet but they were surprisingly busy at that time. I ordered a sausage and cheese on an everything bagel for myself and to my surprise, it had two sausage patties in it. I guess it was because I opted out of the egg. It was very filling and I couldn't even finish the whole sandwich in one setting. I also ordered a side of hash browns, which was a complete jip. It was just an overly fried and oily hash brown patty - the ones you can get in the supermarket and it cost $3. I could go and buy a whole pack for less than that. I won't be ordering this again but will definitely come back for more bagels and to try their lunch sandwiches. read more

Local spot by my house that I've never been to and said to myself today is the day I'll try it. I got the #11 on the lunch sandwich menu for $7.99 not including tax. Honestly it's not bad at all. The #11 is grilled chicken, mozzarella, roasted red peppers and balsamic. Just bit into it and must say they give a good amount of chicken that is well seasoned, marinated and not dry at all. Is this a destination place to travel for to have this sandwich? No. But it's still a good local spot and would come again and you should too. What makes the price even better is the value. You get a good sized sandwich with a little side of potato salad or cole slaw and a can soda, water or coffee with the order. What a nice lunch special deal especially compared to that overpriced crap place in Little Ferry called Bagel Box (see my review of that place if curious) that place is a rip off. Don't go there. The employees are great, friendly, hardworking, usually fast and reliable. I was totally forgotten once recently but these things happen. The woman who apparently is the owner however could be a bit friendlier. Today she didn't even look at me when I paid (she seems to be the only one allowed to touch the cash register) much less thank me or give any response when I thanked her. At that point I was at the end of a wave of customers so it's not even like they were in the heat of busyness. I always tip when I'm there, smile and am a patient person. I love this place. I've been coming for years. Every time I visit I come here for a great bagel. They have a large variety of fresh baked jersey bagels! I love to get their breakfast sandwiches as well with egg and cheese. Some of my favorite bagels are the rainbow, the cinnamon, the onion, and the multigrain bagel. They toast it and put an ample amount of cream cheese on it. Their cream cheese is very delicious and is always fresh. It's a great Mom and Pop place, well run, and the customer service is great. Man! The attitude of the workers here... Every time I walk in this place I feel like my presence is annoying them. The only problem is there is not another decent bagel place close. What's someone to do? Go here and annoy the middle aged women that work here and order a bagel or drive to a nearby town and order a bagel?? I even tip these women every time I come hoping that will change their demeanor but that doesn't help. Additionally, I try to be extra nice thanking them profusely. That also doesn't help. Usually when I arrive at bens bagel barn the women behind the counter are deep conversing in town gossip either with each other or another customer and make me wait a minute or two before they take my order. What a bother I must be to these people! Please someone, anyone, open up a competing bagel place close so I don't have to indulge my bagel desires here. The only reason I am giving bens bagel barn two stars is because the bagels are good. If you are a glutton for punishment, and being treated poorly, or alternatively, you are too lazy to drive to a neighboring town (like myself) I welcome you to try this on par bagel place. I understand the1st reviewer but I can never be harsh to a bagel bar that opens as early as 5:30 am. I get bagel with susage & eggs or ham & eggs for $3.10 and never got disappointed. This place has more options, the bagels are fluffier with more toppings and the price differences are within 10 cents of other places. Some tips: It's cash only and if you go during peak times they are swamped and rushing so don't expect a conversation from them. We've been hitting up Ben's quite a bit on weekends as we are moving to the area and working on our new place. I don't know if it is coincidence or they've been reading yelp. No more are they touching food then money, money then food. They are putting gloves on and taking them off. Also, the grill men are using the ENTIRE GRILL, it brought a tear to my eye. I've had no problem with the food in Ben's WITH THE EXCEPTION of the pancakes, we decided to try them this weekend, they need to revamp their pancake mix. Pancakes were very thin & had the bad aftertaste of baking soda (or powder). Use the internet guys, make your own mix, there are 1000s of recipes out there, you can make an insane pancake w/ a little investigation on the net. Fresh delicious bagels. The best egg sandwich that I've had in a long time. Why have I never stopped here on previous visits to Little Ferry?! I don't know why, but today I did and am so happy ! Ordered 2 sandwiches, both on toasted bagels (onion and sesame) with fried eggs and swiss cheese. The bagels had a great flavor and were fresh and the eggs fried just perfectly ( not so hard there is no yolk; just enough yolk so that the sandwich was not dripping) Friendly staff, quick service. In last few months the wait is exhausting and the orders are wrong if they haven't forgotten you even when you are the only one standing after a busy rush, and no asks what did you order.
