Quaint bagel shop in Guttenberg. I'm a former New Yorker visiting the area for a weekend. I had the biggest craving for a NY bagel and Park Avenue Bagels did exactly what it needed to do. My bacon, egg and cheddar cheese bagel was delicious. I went on a Saturday morning and although there was steady traffic, I didn't wait long. I would recommend this shop for anyone in the area. read more

I just ordered a bagel with butter here at 10 in the morning. The bagel was relatively crunchy outside and chewy inside as expected. The amount of butter was adequate. Price is $2.50 and average or higher side. I've tried surrounding bagel shops and I can say this is one of the best quality choices. Next time, I'd like to go there early morning for a fresh baked bagel. There are many different foods you can try here as well. read more

This bagel shop is an absolute gem in Guttenberg. I began coming her in December and all I can think about is how much I have been missing out before giving this place a try. Everything is absolutely fantastic and fresh, the bagels are perfection and the burgers here are bomb. My favorite has to be the Lox bagel (delicious!), and they do not skimp one bit on the salmon. Yes they load it on there which is amazing compared to everywhere else where you can hardly see or taste the salmon. The shop itself is also very clean and the workers here including the owner are very nice. It is amazing to see a place that puts their customers and the quality of their food first before anything else. Hats off too the owner, he's doing a fantastic job all around. read more

By and far, one of the best breakfast shops in the county. They have a wide variety of bagels to choose from and they all make for a great breakfast sandwich. Oftentimes, I have a difficulty deciding between their bacon, egg and cheese and sausage, egg and cheese sandwiches so order both. Moreover, their breakfast plates are incredible. Made to order, you can get, bacon, sausage, pancakes and eggs made to order and the portions are plentiful while not too expensive. Furthermore, the home fries here are to die for! The owner, John, insisted I try his home fries when I told him to leave them off of the breakfast I first ordered and I'm glad I listened because they are, not only my new favorite breakfast item, but also my mother's. That's high praise given that many latina mothers won't ever admit that. They also have a couple of healthy items and lunch sandwiches as well. The only downside is that they don't deliver but I highly recommend visiting this place for breakfast. Call ahead as the line is almost always out the door. You will not be disappointed. read more

Really impressive bagels for an even more impressive price. The cream cheese is fluffy and addicting, the bread airy and light. For less than $8, you can have yourself a fulfilling breakfast- or even an afternoon snack. The seating area is small (around 4 or 5 tables), so it isn't ideal for larger groups. If you're looking for a heavier meal, the delicatessen sandwiches are to die for. I ordered The Godfather on a roll and asked for it drizzled in oil and vinegar. That sandwich was as good as they get. I highly recommend you try Park Avenue Bagels at least twice in your life. Once just wont cut it. read more

We stayed in NJ for our "New York" trip. Found this place while having drinks at the Wild River. We stopped for breakfast the next morning. Sandwiches were excellent, the owner is so friendly! Highly recommend. Wish I could these in Wisconsin. read more

My local bagel shop and it does not disappoint after living in this area several years I can honestly say this place gives the option of not having to drive into the city for a decent bagel and that is definitely an underrated plus the cream cheese always tastes super fresh try the scallion cream cheese it is my go to. There may be a bit of a wait depending on day and time but imo well worth it. read more

I absolutely love this place. Any time I'm in the mood for a bacon egg and cheese, I know exactly where to go. Whether I'm ordering a breakfast bagel or a sandwich for lunch, they cook and prepare everything perfectly. The staff at Park Ave Bagels are sweethearts. I wouldn't consider myself a regular, but I definitely go often. The owner always recognizes me and asks me how my day is going. I usually call in my order for pick up because it's much quicker than waiting till I arrive. It tends to get busy on the weekends, so saving myself the wait is ideal. Definitely recommend. Good spot for a quick breakfast sandwich and some coffee for a reasonable price. Also ordered a bunch of bagels to take home for our large group that was visiting NY and staying in the area. Everything tasted fresh and the sandwiches and coffee were well prepared. The guy who took our order seemed a bit confused though and ended up giving us a large cafe con leche instead of the regular coffee we ordered, however he did charge us correctly for the regular coffee so whatever no big deal. Needed a new bagel and lox place so found this one here. It's close to where we live, which is great. Ordered: Toasted everything, scooped with scallion tofu spread, onions and tomatoes and sliced lox. Results: Sandwich came super quick, bagel and scallion tofu spread were delish, but the sliced lox wasn't fresh sliced lox, it was packaged lox (and more on the salty side but that's not the store's problem). I called ahead and asked the lady who took the order, if they had fresh sliced lox, not from a package and she said yes. Maybe she didn't know the difference between fresh and pre sliced lox, no matter. We will def come back for the bagels and tofu spread but still have to go to my hated bagel place in Edgewater to get fresh lox. read more

I love this place! It's small, with very limited seating, but we got lucky and 2 tables opened up as we were ordering. The food here is amazing, seriously all of our meals were perfect! The french toast was the best I've ever had. I will be back next time I visit NYC! read more

I literally just ordered there 15 minutes ago and it was everything I needed. My coffee was made perfect the first time, the bagel was 10/10 good. I'm so happy and so full. I was looking for a local bagel spot as this area is in desperate need for one. I found Park Ave to be ok. I ordered a sesame bagel with lox spread, but my bagel seemed to be lacking in both. It was almost a plain bagel with plain cream cheese, which would be fine, but not worth $5+. The place itself is cute and clean. The service is friendly and fast. Went there a little after 8:30 to get a bagel and they were closed. No sign on the door nothing on the internet to say they wouldn't be open. There are people inside and I banged on the glass to get their attention. Do you think they would come to tell me that they're not open yet? Nope. The person moved out of my vision so I couldn't see her anymore. That's how she handled the situation. I guess they don't make their own bagels and we're waiting for a delivery. Very unprofessional not to come to the door. I don't feel like getting in my car and driving to Metropolitan that's why I go there. read more

This is a solid 4. Well a 5 if ur in FL but we're too close to NY that it lowers the rating for me. A delish bagel though I felt the everything bagel had a bit too much salt for my liking. 5 stars for their tofu scallion spread!!! I wish all places had a vegan option as it can be hard to find. We had bagels in Long Island right after we landed so compared to those this is a good bagel but just not quite as good. read more

I walked in thinking this was the spot! I was hoping they had more of a variety for breakfast. I mean don't get me wrong the bagels are fresh and they tasted ok, but not the best. They aren't known for their bagels, the staff was friendly and there was a lot of foot traffic! I took my bagel and cream cheese (1.94: deal) home with me to make a delicious sandwich. If you're looking for prompt and friendly service, delicious breakfast, and affordability, this is the place! I've been coming here for the past few years and it has not disappointed. Food is consistently simple, delicious, and fresh. Coffee is pretty good too! Bagels are on par with any other NY bagel joint - I wouldn't buy into the hype elsewhere. It's definitely no frills in terms of decor but the service and food far out weight any of that. read more

I've been living around the area for sometime and would see this place and walk pass it. After trying it a couple weeks ago I feel like I've been missing out of this local gem. The coffee is amazing and bagels always fresh . They use caged free eggs too. The girls are always welcoming . It's a small spot with a few books on the shelf to read. I'm so happy I can walk around the corner and have a good quick meal. :) read more

BUT they closed the booth so I switched to H&C. It was more expensive and almost as good. Then I stopped eating beef. Recently I started making beef stew again. I got some grass fed at Whole Foods. It was okay but I wanted better. So I went back to H&C. It cost $14 a pound but that's food now. I noticed when I unwrapped the package that there was much darker meet in the middle of the bright red meat. Older? Hmmmm. So I made the stew. And the beef was like leather. I lost more calories chewing than I did consuming. Some of it was so inedible I tossed it. That was about 20%. As I said, the worst. I would have gone back to complain but the place is popular so I was seemingly in the minority and you know what goes with that dynamic. Naw I'm going back to WF or raising my own in my NYC apartment.

It is so sad to have to come across a place like this. Awesome bagels TERRIBLE SERVICE. I do a daily morning walk with my puppy and craved a bagel. Since I'm in the training process I cannot leave my dog outside alone. As a cordial client I called placed an order and waited right outside the door with my money ready( good tip included) to have an employee WITH HER MOUTH FULL OF FOOD tell me she can't always be doing "this". What is "this" customer service? No she could not walk 20 meters to the door receive the money. Must be real hard for her since she's a waiter and all. This because a sad issue for me considering I MYSELF am a waitress. Customer service is crucial. It's a shame restaurant owners aren't aware of employees that simply don't care. Lesson: one bad experience = 5 good reviews. I will boycott this place (sadly) and will make sure everyone in town is aware of this. read more

Best Place this side of the Hudson for a great cup of Java and your choice of breakfast bagels or an Early Lunch. The service is simply Great, John and Laura Bring a cheers type environment to Guttenberg, service with a smile is what you get when you step inside. They aim to please, the food is great served up fresh and hot, all ingredients are top notch. I recommend this spot as a HOT SPOT for some great Nosh. When you arrive ask for John or Laura and you will receive some of the best service this side of the Hudson. read more

I grew up in West New York and have lived in North Bergen and Guttenberg most of my life. I've been to sooo many delis and bagel shops. I'll tell you this much.... Park Avenue Bagel's sandwiches and subs are delicious!! I don't usually do this but I had to go back and tell them how good it was!! Just know that the sandwich isn't going to be dripping excess cheese when you pick it up. Cash is preferred. They do allow credit cards use, but have a sign that says $10.00 minimum. I'd advise anyone to do so because no single item is over $10! That bagel I described earlier was only $6! And customer service was a fun and helpful. Bottom line: anytime it's 7am (rarely), I'm driving nearby and haven't ate yet, I'm stopping here. No thoughts on their lunch menu, but I'm make the effort and stop by soon.

There were a few people ahead of us and gave us a moment to see what to order. We decided on two orders of egg, cheese, and ham woth extra ketchup on a roll. My order was an egg and cheese with ketchup on a roll. All orders were fresh and felt small. However, it's a good pick me up for morning breakfast and reasonably priced. Friendly service, tables, and counter space to eat inside, minimum $10 to use credit card. If you live around the neighborhood, take a walk. There is street parking available too.
