This is a standard neighborhood bagel shop. I got a sausage, egg, and cheese on pumpernickel and an egg white, turkey, and cheese on a scooped whole wheat everything--both were just mediocre. Service was slow; it took a long time for our order to be ready, likely because they only had one cook working with a sous chef and a cashier on a busy Sunday morning. Things got hectic quickly, and they started running out of bagels right after we ordered. read more

We have been going to J and J Bagel for years and never have had an issue till recently. Most recently I ordered and Taylor ham and cheese on a roll. When the sandwich came I couldn't believe my eyes. There was one slice of Taylor ham and two pieces of cheese. Today I wanted to try something different. I ordered a hot roast beef with melted mozzarella and thousand island dressing on a roll. What I got was dry roast beef, tomatoes and mayonnaise on a roll heated. Not sure what has been happening but we have been very disappointed in the quality of the food. We are willing to give it another try in hopes it it like the old J and J. read more

J&J Bagels is what you long for when you think of your mom and pop shops. The family that runs this place is so sweet and so kind. This is the perfect place to pick up a bagel or bacon, egg and cheese sandwich, and a coffee for a road trip or before you have to go to whatever miserable job you have to deal with. This is the right way to start your day to give you some joy. The bagels are top quality just soft enough, and generous portions of cream cheese. They also have some other delicious items they make on the go. If you're looking for a bagel and you drive past JJ to go to 7-Eleven I don't know how you can live with yourself. read more

Went in on a Saturday around Noon for a dozen bagels. Walked out with only a half dozen, as most of the more common bagel flavors were gone! Not a plain or cinnamon raisin bagel in sight! Enjoyed a wheat bagel that was quite good! $7.00 for 6 bagels. Service was adequate. Look forward to going back earlier in the morning in hopes of finding plain and egg bagels! read more

Very disappointed. I recently moved to the area and decided to order from this place. I placed an order through DoorDash. Bagel with Scallion cream cheese, bacon egg and cheese on a roll and 2 coffees- 1 caramel ice coffee and 1 small coffee milk and sugar The bagel was burnt and it was hard small amount of cream cheese- I had to throw it away because biting into it was tough. Both coffee were black only (which we didn't order black). Bacon and cheese only two slices of bacon we will never order from this place again read more

I order from them via GrubHub, and their orders fulfilled are always spot on. I've noticed they're proactive (complete their order early so plan your pickup accordingly). Super fresh bagels. They have an item called the Hobo which is excellent! Filled with the usual breakfast suspects of a meat, egg and cheese. Surprise ingredient...hash brown love within that bagel sammie goodness! They have a small lot that's easy to get in and out of. Sufficient indoor and outdoor seating. Who doesn't love testing out bagel spots? There's nothing like walking into a bagel shop and just getting hit with the warm scent of buns in the making. J&J Bagel is located on a fairly busy street in Ridgefield and shares a tiny parking lot with a local small gym - on the plus side I've never run into an issue where I couldn't find parking. The team at J&J knows how to handle customers with care but also speed which I greatly appreciate. The bagels here are thick unlike other shops in the area which make almost mini bagels compared to J&J. The flavors of their bagels are also on point - personally I love anything coated in Garlic or Onions and their flavors really stand out. read more

I called in a breakfast egg, cheese, and bacon sandwich and a ham and cheese sandwich this morning. Parked in front of my granddaughters school and said here you go she said there is no egg...again! Yes again. So I called and the rude guy who answers and takes orders picks up I explain just a few weeks ago the same thing happened and he cuts me off with such bad attitude and says was it a grub hub order I said no I called it in he gets more mad and says No I need to get to the bottom of this and I lost it! $21 for 2 sandwiches and 1 was wrong AGAIN and he is mad?? J & J is dependable. Their bagels are bigger than most but fluffy and have great mouth feel. I used to complain privately that the ratio between filling and bagel was not even. There needed to be more filling whether it be egg or bacon. It has gotten much better and much more enjoyable. Bacon is almost always crispy and cooked well! That matters a lot to me! And their bacon is good quality and not just fatty. We ask for egg fried and it's cooked perfectly. Staff are friendly. Can't ask for better neighborhood bagel place. I was searching for a bagel spot on my way to work and this place popped up. Didn't think too much of a bagel store. Bagel is a bagel I thought. I ordered sausage and egg on everything bagel. I had two bites and like where's my sausage?? It was all on the other half of the bagel. How?? How small of a sausage are you using? I was in a rush so I didn't even hear the total and just handed my card to the cashier and she whispered "you're good". Didn't hear her that well and assumed I was clear to go. Didn't get a receipt or anything. I should've read the reviews while waiting for the bagel as there's a review about the same issue. The bagel does fill you up. I couldn't finish it. So if I do the math right I only had 1/4 of my sausage. read more

Just wanted a bagel nearby, looked at the rating and decided to give it a try, I don't understand the high reviews. The lady at the cashier was rude. I was at the wrong line to order and she sent me to the order line. The lady taking the order was nice. I self served myself a coffee. One of the machine was out of coffee and the other was covered. I wasn't sure if the other was working but decided to give it a try and it worked. I went back to pay and the cashier asked the other what my order was, she says 4.50 and swiped my card. She proceeds to talk to another customer sitting with me still in in front she keeps on turning her back while talking to the other customer and one of those times she throws an order on the counter. After a few seconds of just standing there and there is a gap in the conversation she was having with the other customer. I asked if the order she just threw on the counter is mine. She doesn't fully turn around but Says yes your all all set. The bagel had some burnt thing on it, I didn't notice until I had taken a bite out of it. read more

Being a NYer we take our bagels seriously, however J&J Bagel is quickly becoming one of my favorite bagel places. They make the plumpest (yes I said plump :p) bagels stuffed with a wide range of things any bagel lover would want. Their service is quick and their prices are reasonable. I would take off one star cause there has been a few times when I've called in an order and they forgot to toast a bagel here and there. This is usually only when I call in and maybe they are busy. However, I would definitely recommend if you're venturing out of "the City" and looking for a legit bagel spot. read more

Finding a good breakfast spot is always a mission for me. Being a bagel lover I am very particular with what a good bagel tastes like. J & J impressed me with their variety of choices on not just bagels but also the additional items for breakfast/lunch they offer. I ordered a Ham, Egg, and Cheese on a Whole Wheat Everything bagel. This was a really good breakfast sandwich. The bagel was not stale and you can tell was freshly baked. The problem I tend to walk into when getting breakfast sandwiches is they burn or overly toast the bagel. Not this place! It was a very enjoyable sandwich. This bagel shop is local to my house. I've been here a few times, and they were always able to satisfy my order quickly. On my first visit I ordered about a dozen bagel, and various cream cheese for a Sunday breakfast I was going to. The bagel were delicious and fresh, and let me mention that they are also HUGE! On my second visit I got a few egg sandwiches and they were also very delicious and made to order. The sandwiches were also made on HUGE bagels. This is a typical local bagel shop, and it's convent for me to visit. I'm sure I will stop in again in the future. read more

When in Bergen County, you must stop for a bagel somewhere. J&J makes it easy for you with ample parking. The bagels here are great. I went with the onion bagel with scallion cream cheese and was not disappointed. I was there early in the morning and honestly, there's nothing like a North Jersey fresh bagel. read more

Food is good here, especially the bagels. I've visited over half dozen times for breakfast. No major complaints with anything. But every time I want to order a breakfast sandwich or bagels I find myself searching the area again. Usually I'll have a Goto place for specific things and my decision is made. Why do I keep conducting a search for bagels/lox and bfast sandwiches? I will admit I love the hobo sandwich at Yum Yum. If this review sounds confused it is. Walked over here last Sunday for a little breakfast and was pleasantly surprised. Why, I'm not sure. I guess simply because I had never been here before. First off, the bagels are absolutely huge so make no mistakes about leaving hungry. Secondly, cheap (I think my sandwich was less than $5) and easy. I had a ham, egg, and cheese on an everything bagel and I'm pretty sure I didn't eat again until late afternoon. Don't know why some people knock this place. One of the best bagels I have ever had. If you want quality at reasonable price this is the place to go. They cook their bagels every morning and take pride on what they offer to their customers. They hate us because they ain't us lol. read more
