The old belly was feeling a bit neglected and I was in the mood for a Bento lunch and lo and behold, I look up and I'm at Bento Teppanyaki. I entered and was warmly greeted and if I was dining-in, I could choose a table. The contemporary decor was quite pleasant and inviting. This venue is Asian Fusion with Chinese and Japanese dishes. I ordered the Bento Box that one builds from a choice of entrees, appetizers, rice, and soups. I selected the Teriyaki Shrimp, 2 fried Spring Rolls for my appetizer, white rice and Egg Drop soup. Diana, my server, who was excellent, advised that the Shrimp Teriyaki had mushrooms and onions which I didn't mind at all. And for digestive purposes only, I had a Kirin Ichiban lager. I definitely plan on returning to check out some delectable delights that I eyeballed on the menu.

The service was good. Our waitress was attentive even though they were busy and were timely about everything we needed. The place looked okay, it looks like a topical Asian restaurant. What it was lacking in style, it over compensated with smell. You could smell the food as soon as you walk in. The food was great. The price for their bento deal is good comes with a soup, entree, and two side. The entrees we got were sweet & sour chicken, chicken and broccoli, and general Cho chicken. All good general Cho had a little kick , sweet & sour was tasty, broccoli and chicken a great substitute for beef.

Ordered takeout from here, the food was delicious & fresh. We each got a bento box, I love that we were able to customize the box as we wanted. The fried rice & chicken chow mein were excellent, really enjoyed the broccoli chicken & pork dumplings. We did not care for the egg drop soup, the crunchy wontons were stale.

My go to is the Bento box or chicken chow mein, and you know how when you get in the car you can smell the food well this is on another level. The food here is delicious! The portions on any of the dishes are pretty generous. They have vegetarian entrees and sides, like the cheese puffs yum! I just met Shane but this place always feels like your friend's house you get invited to for a good meal.

Bento Teppanyaki is in a newer strip mall in Meuller off of Barbara Jordon Blvd. Lots of cool shops and restaurants in the area. This was a bright and cheerful Asian restaurant that offers a make your own bento box option. You pick an entree, an appetizer, a soup, egg roll, etc and your lunch comes in a nice bento box presentation. Everything was tastyand the service was prompt. They also offer lunch specials but the bento box option is recommended. Give it a try

What a joy this place was to eat. The box comprised of delectable meat. The sushi such a wonderful treat. The service was fantastical from the greet. Our sever "Xm" was so very sweet!

Bento lunch includes: Egg Drop Soup, Orange Chicken, Vegetable Dumplings, rice, the ever-present red sauce, and crispy noodles.

THE STAFF IS SO LOVELY! This place reminded me of eating Chinese food with my grandparents in the best possible way. They liked to eat the old standbys in a familiar, friendly setting. You know: those crunchy noodles in comforting soup, sweet and sour crispy fish or chicken, that sweet red sauce, egg rolls, etc. The price is right, and the nostalgia is real.

    Bento box with Hunan Chicken

I was a little frustrated with this spot because although they have a Japanese name, the food is entirely Chinese. Nevertheless, I ordered the Hunan Chicken in a bento box to give it a try and it was fine. A little too salty and lacking depth in flavor, but enjoyable. The noodles were pretty greasy and the rest of the accompaniments were not memorable. The restaurant is cute and in a great location so I expected more, but it's not any better than your run-of-the-mill Chinese restaurant. One thing that I will say was great was the service. It was not very busy when we visited, so our server was very attentive. He took our orders quickly, was kind and helpful in describing dishes to guests in my party, and made sure we had everything we needed.

I went here right before Thanksgiving! It is fairly new so I wanted to try. The menu has many vegetarian options which was nice. I got the veggie bento which had soup, rice, tofu and dumplings. They were all so good! I think next time I will try the other tofu option as they had a variety. The soups was also very good! I would totally come here just to get some of the soup on a cold day. Service here was nice. The waiter was super helpful with the menu and nice in general even though he was busy. I also thought the ambiance was cute. I will definitely go here again with my husband since there are multiple vegetarian and non vegetarian options!

Another night with Bento Teppanyaki, and it did not disappoint! My boyfriend and I didn't feel like cooking, so naturally, we placed an order here. My go-to is the chow mein, and his is always general tso. We got two rolls of sushi, which were delicious. We placed the order online and it was ready within 15 min, which gave us enough time to get ready and go pick it up. Service was fast and friendly. We will be back!

MAN!!!! Once again they blew my mind. My new FAVORITE WINGS. JALEPENO PEPPER WINGS. Fantastic. I've left reviews for this place before. And i continue to be amazed. Service is great. And they are willing to adjust orders which tells me it's FRESHLY PUT TOGETHER not sitting in a pot ALLDAY !

    Eating in a hallway
    Jill A.

The food was delicious, but just like any other fast casual, there was zero atmosphere. You are basically sitting in a hallway to eat unless you take your food to go. The irony is that it's not fast casual, somebody comes up and takes your order and then brings you your bento box which can be a traditional bento or a combination of Japanese and Chinese food or you can go straight Chinese like me. Everything was super yummy and filling so no complaints there. Plus, it was right across from our hotel so we could walk there.

This isn't necessarily an every-week dinner for us price-wise--hibachi can definitely be a splurge--but if we could justify going every week, we absolutely would. It is hands-down some of the best hibachi I've ever had. And hibachi seems simple enough: great meat, fried rice, fresh vegetables, sauces. But when it's done REALLY well, apparently there is a huge difference, because Japon has completely ruined mediocre hibachi for me. Everything tastes incredibly fresh, the meat is always cooked beautifully, the vegetables are perfect, the rice is ridiculous, and I could probably consume an irresponsible amount of their sauces. The food is actually so good that it inspired me to start buying fresh vegetables, good meat, rice, yum yum sauce and sriracha and making my own little version at home. It isn't Japon, obviously, but that's how much we love this food. What really deserves recognition, though, is their consistency. We've visited both locations, they've been absolutely SLAMMED, and somehow the service is still exceptional. We've never sat around forever waiting to be acknowledged or wondering where our server went. The staff is attentive, friendly and efficient every single time we've gone. The atmosphere at both locations is beautiful and lively, and of course there's the whole experience of watching your meal prepared right in front of you. Even the little details make it feel like a complete dining experience--from sitting down with a cold Topo Chico and fresh lemon to the little orange treat at the end. It's one of those restaurants where you leave already thinking about the next time you can justify going back. Yes, dinner for two can turn into a splurge. But we've never walked out feeling like the experience wasn't worth it. The quality of the food, atmosphere and consistently excellent service keeps us coming back. If you're craving hibachi in Austin, Sushi Japon is absolutely worth trying. Both locations have been fantastic for us. 10/10. If my budget had its way, we'd be regulars. If my stomach had its way, we'd live there.

The inside looks run down and dirty as well. The timing and service were completely off. After all the food was already served and we had started eating, they finally asked if we wanted sauce. Zero attention to detail or basic hibachi restaurant etiquette. The lobster was rubbery, the steak was tough and hard to chew, and honestly everything that could go wrong did go wrong. Complete waste of money. You're better off going to Panda Express , it's cheaper and honestly tastes 10x better.

Both of the sandos were perfect. The wagyu beef sando had a little bit more flavor but it was slight and both are worth trying. The Edamame - which were charred in a way that I feel like I've never experienced it before and had such great flavor. 2. We finished off the night sharing the matcha crème brûlée. The food and drinks themselves were great. However, service was a bit slow overall; I had to ask for the status of my main dish and had to flag our server down when we wanted another round of drinks. The breading tasted nearly burnt dry and banding in the meat (see my photo) shows how it was separating from being cooked too long. The curry is as disappointing as their sister restaurant. It's weak enough that I'd venture I could produce a better curry in bulk. Their menu also changes between lunch and dinner so it's possible other non sushi options are better.
