Hands down the best hibachi steak and chicken I've ever had. The portions were massive, the price was amazing, and the flavor was superb. Their fried rice is actually FRIED rice, complete with rice, carrots, and flavor. Order the broccoli as a side...green, crunchy goodness, perfectly cooked. The outside of the building is very unassuming. The inside, however is bright and clean and quite comfortable. The staff is very friendly and attentive. Do yourself a favor and make the trip here. Bentto is mediocre at best. The sauces and seasonings are great, and they have good customer service, but I've ordered 3 times now and I've been disappointed each time (yes I gave this place multiple attempts - mainly for the convenience factor, as it's minutes from my home, and the only other hibachi I know of in Danville is Tokyo Grill, and they have the most flavorless, lifeless hibachi I've ever tasted). So if the flavors and sauces are great, what warrants this two star review? Old, stale, rotting vegetables and shrimp. The first time, I tried just the steak hibachi, cooked medium. The meat was delicious, but the accompanying vegetables were mushy and had a weird aftertaste. I chalked it up to the fact that I came close to closing time, and maybe received the last of the fresh veggies for the day. The second time, I chose the chicken and shrimp hibachi. And I ordered much earlier in the day, closer to lunchtime. Again, the zucchini was overly mushy, mushrooms tasted old and slimy, and the shrimp had a strong fishy taste. Still, I thought maybe this was just an off day. Third time's a charm right? Wrong. I got the steak and shrimp hibachi this time and again, soggy nasty zucchini squash and fishy, old tasting shrimp. I try to eat here whenever I come back home to visit. The food is tasty, the portions are massive, and the prices are reasonable. The ginger and white sauces make everything extra delicious. I like that a restaurant was finally able to succeed in this location, as I remember several popping up and quickly fizzling out in the same spot over the years. However, their popularity is leading it to outgrow its location. Parking in their tiny lot is a bit of a nightmare during dinnertime and it can be difficult to snag a table. The customer service can be a bit lacking as well. The wait time for food isn't bad, but the girl who has been at the register when I have been in makes it seem like you are doing something wrong by placing an order (other people I know who go there have observed the same thing). As a worker in the service industry myself, I know that dealing the dining public can be difficult, but just a smile (even a fake one) and a thank you would go a long way to making the guests feel welcome. read more

One of the best hibachi restaurants you can find!! I have been to many these kind of restaurants but Bentto is the only place where uses fresh ingredients (other restaurants use frozen rice and chicken to facilitate their cooking). I eat here anytime I'm in Danville. So good- it's REAL white meat chicken, real steak, and the shrimp is great unlike other "Japanese express" restaurants. I order teriyaki style, delicious. The rice has a lot of flavor and isnt bland at all. You can stand there and watch them cook your food fresh to order. Don't let the outside building turn you away. read more

Last few times we attended this restaurant, our orders have been messed up. So we figured we'd give it one more chance, and order takeout. So I ordered, was shown the order i had placed, and the order was put into a bag. I then attended the restroom, and came back out to get my bag. Got our order, and then drove 30 minutes home, only to find out my wife's order was not correct. This order had onions and mushrooms, of which my wife is allergic to. So I call back to the restaurant and they are now closed, and they told me, they don't refund food! I said I don't want a refund, I am willing to ride back there for the correct order. Then they said we don't replace food. So I asked what are you going to do about this then, and his reply was, "I don't understand, we don't replace food!"
