The food has great house seasoning. Made fresh and warm to order. Service was great. Great place to be at, clean home like environment. The shrimp and wings had a home made flavor. Definitely coming again, I recommend. We had the chicken and waffles, shrimp, the wings with house seasoning. The service was pleasant and warming. Thank you we will be coming again

Let me say the service was A1. We were greeted once we walked in the door. They treated us like Rock Stars . The Catfish & Shrimp were seasoned with flavor and love! The Red Beans were a little spicy but I love spice. We will be back to. A True Hidden Gem in Upland.

If you're looking for hefty portion size, I would recommend. However, if you're looking for flavor...... the Mac and cheese did not have flavor. The look and taste was like noodles was miffed in a very milky cheese sauce. Collard greens was half decent. The brisket was fatty, nor did it have a barbque smoke flavor. Definitely a no go for me. Customer service was good which is the reason for the stars. I feel like my $26 wasn't well spent. Mac and cheese went to the trash. I barely ate the collard greens. I ended up rinsing the sauce off the brisket, frying it and adding store bought barbque and putting between 2 slices of nature's own bread.

    A little of everything.

We took a drive out to Beola's. It was not what I had my taste buds prepared for. Customer service was excellent, ambiance good. This is a store front setting, which was fine for the time of date we went. Had it been another day or time there may not have been anywhere to sit. The food was ok, I was not a big fan. My husband ate his. The waffles had too much cinnamon in the batter so all you taste when eating the waffle is cinnamon. The only thing I could tolerate was the red beans and rice. All the other food was not tasty. The seasoning was weird, I don't know, just didn't taste like the soul food I'm accustomed to. Whatever was going on with the seasoning my taste buds and stomach said no. Try it you might like it. Was not good to me. Thank you

Our meal - chicken & massive waffle(we split it), rice & beans, cornbread

Wow!! I've missed these home cooked meals for way too long! Wish I had tried this place before now. Beola is the creator of these delicious recipes and her grandson is carrying on her traditions. Can't thank him enough! We got chicken & waffles (of course my usual fave), red beans & rice, cornbread and sweet tea. Everything is very good portions. Chicken is hand breaded with so many wonderful spices that don't feel overly fried and moist meat. Waffle was big that we split it. Smothered it with their maple butter (YUM!) and barely used any maple syrup because the waffle batter had so much flavor and cinnamon which is my favorite. Waffle was so soft but not soggy it had lightly crisp edges. Rice & beans were so flavorful that you only get from a good home cooked meal. It has beef and pork links that give it so much flavor. Oh my heavens...they call it cornbread but I call it corncake because it was so fluffy, moist and not at all gritty. We were welcomed by the owner and he talked with us after we tasted to get our feedback. Great guy. Very hospitable. Pictures are attached to see our meal and the restaurant. There are 5 tables. They do catering too. They are located around the corner from Whole Foods, across from chipotle & Wendy's.

I've been a fan of Beolas for years and today I was my first time going to location on Baseline Rd Troy, the owner, was extremely kind and politely shared everything I needed to know about the different items on their menu. I ended up going with the 6 piece wings with two sides and couldn't help but add a 3rd Despite choosing the plain chicken, the flavor was everything. Exactly what you want when eating fried chicken. Cooked to perfection and made fresh. Mac and cheese was delicious I am very picky with my greens and these are the best I've ever had. Red beans and rice was so flavorful They had nothing but great old school music hits playing and I was dancing the whole time I was enjoying my meal. So glad I finally stopped by and can't wait for their other location to reopen. Beolas is by far the best southern / soul food I've ever had.

I came here before grocery shopping and have been meaning to try this place. Thr place has a good amount of seating and outdoor seating. I got their daily special of chicken sandwich with fries ($9.99) It was seasoned nicely, it came with the choice of lettuce and sliced white onion. It was cooked thoroughly and the meat was juicy. The onions were too thick but it gave a nice texture. The fries were tossed in a seasoning and it was a good amount. The staff was nice and the place is clean. They do sell lottery and have a yelp check-in of a free drink of kool-aid.

Thanks for coming to town Beola's! I have passed by this place several times and today was the day we were dropping in. Happy we did. Red snapper, red beans and rice, Mac-n-cheese, brisket fries, accompanied by Kool-aid and lemonade. Bamm! Successful meal and satisfied customers. I was worried we wouldn't find seating but we did. They had some really good tunes playing while we ate. Nice and friendly staff as well.

Here is a picture of the douche bag that took out food from the table and dumped it in the trash, after we asked for a refund.

We went there for our first time, they guy at the counter was disgruntle and rude. One of the Waffle was not cooked properly and we asked for a refund on the waffle, he told us to fuck off and leave, he removed my food from the table as I was eating at this point we asked for a full refund and he got up to my husband's face and pushed him. Authorities were called and we will be pursuing this to the full extent of the law. PSA- food was terrible, waffles crumbled completely apart, they were hard which was weird as they crumbled into sand. The chicken was salty and over seasoned. No wonder there is not traffic at the restaurant. Wish I had photos to upload, he grabbed out food from the table and threw it in the trash and did not give us a refund! Don't bother coming here. Save your money. So many better places to chose from.

The lady at the front with the red hair was super sweet and super accommodating. Making sure we had extra sauce and everything. Now the food was so good, me and my friends ordered this: bbq brisket fried with cheese, fried catfish, chicken and waffles. Sides: rice and gravy , Mac n cheese, collard greens , red beans and rice. Everything was super hot and fresh , so I'm assuming they make it right when you order. The brisket had a bit too much fat for my liking but was delicious overall. Super clean inside and very homey. 10/10 would recommend and come back!

They split the one order. Portions are super generous!

Awesome! Better than Roscos! A great find! Generous portions, well seasoned and reasonably priced. The owner tends the restaurant and keeps it super clean! Chicken is crisp and tasty! Come see this hidden gem in north Claremont

Front Entrance - located off Baseline before the 210 freeway ramp, across from the Wendy's that is visible from the street.

The restaurant is conveniently located at the Sycamore Hills Plaza, off of Baseline Rd, before the 210 freeway ramp. I placed an online order for pick up. My food was made fresh to order & was ready at the promised time. Upon my arrival, (this was my first time here), I saw the restaurant offered patio dining in front of the business, where there was shade and a cool breeze, so we decided to eat there rather than take our food home. I just relocated to Upland from Oklahoma. Chicken and Waffles is a southern staple! And let me tell you, Beola's did not disappoint!!! The best chicken and waffles, you can taste the authenticity of a home cooked meal from a family recipe. The chicken was seasoned well, and the waffle was huge, fluffy. Everything partnered well and tasted so good! We loved it so much that we even ordered another plate to go for later! The customer service was phenomenal. You can see a lot of heart and care from the owner. Come support a local business and try amazing food! We'll be back to try other food items from the menu.

What impressed me most was how well everything held up during delivery. Even after sitting for a bit, the sandwich was still crispy, flavorful, and satisfying. And the fries? Still delicious--cheesy, saucy, and totally crave-worthy. Not all comfort food travels well, but Egg N Bird nails it. It's not trying to reinvent the wheel--nothing overly fancy or overhyped--but the flavor combos are on point, and everything just hits the spot. I've been craving it ever since, which says a lot. There used to be 9 breakfast food options that are no longer available. There were 5 rice bowl options that have been reduced to 2, and the 5 sandwich options are now down to 3. I'm sure for operation costs, they've had to cut down and just sell their top sellers? That's what I'm assuming because why else would you eliminate 75% of your menu? I was hoping to get some of the breakfast options for my kids and a few of the rice bowls, but since breakfast was no longer available, and I didn't really have many rice options, I just picked up the Korean bowl. I came home and ate the bowl and it was awful. The chicken was so so dry, it honestly tasted like they had gotten a leftover piece and threw it in the fryer again to warm it up. I'm so sad because I loved this place so much. But, with such a limited menu (we mainly came because my kids enjoyed the breakfast menu) and the food being so bad now, I don't think I'll be back.

So here's my good and not so good. Good: the service here is amazing, friendly attentive and I watched every dine in customer receive extraordinary care. The portion sizes are huge and the whole restaurant felt like you were in someone's own kitchen on a weekend morning with all of the right smells in the air for a great brunch. Here's the not so good: it took 4 minutes shy of an hour to get lunch for 2 (2 order of chicken tenders, side of red beans and rice and an order of hush puppies ) prepared. Although the booths were full, most of the tables had their food, so it didn't appear to be a lot of tickets stacked up. When my order was finally delivered, and I took the10 minute drive back home, I opened the bag to fund 3 brown paper bags, wet, soggy and soaking in grease. Because the food hadn't been allowed to cool a bit and it was placed in a plastic bag with no way to vent out steam, every item was soggy and falling apart. The fries were wet and soggy, the chicken had all of the dry coat falling off and most the seasoning was pulled off of the batter that was left because of the water and steam. Additionally, the red beans and rice were so wet, they were almost soup. One of the orders had potato salad as a side, but to received overcooked soggy fries instead. The hush puppies were way over cooked, they had passed the golden brown cook level and were a black brown color and were sort of flavorless and really soggy from the heat of the plastic bag. I'm sure that most of this could have been avoided if I hadn't placed a to go order. But I'm leaving this review so that when you order from this little gem, you consider dining in or asking for the foot with plenty of lead time so that they don't rush, improperly pack the food for transit (let it cool off a bit) and have the time to make sure the order is correct, and cooked to a standard that best represents the business. Pomona needs Day-Days as a locally owned, black owned soul food restaurant. Switching from plastic to paper bags and giving the food time to vent will go a long way with quality for the customer. In the end the food tasked good, I'm sure was prepared with love, but fell flat on the delivery. All of that said, patronize this restaurant!!!!

The energy in this little spot is alive and you will not leave here feeling anything but full and happy! I typically start with salsa when reviewing a Mexican restaurant, but I need to comment on food value first. The menu is full of main dishes & combo plates, three individual items, and a separate drink menu (coffee de la olla is the bomb). On my first visit I only wanted to sample a couple tacos and was a bit disappointed the menu didn't list à la cart tacos...until I spoke with my server who confirmed they had à la cart tacos. I ordered 2 tacos, coffee de la olla, extra salsa, a side of cabbage, and got out of there for under $13 before tip. Their plates top out at $24 for the decadent dishes, but most mains and combos are in the $16-$19 range. I'm a habitual over-eater so always clean my plate, but many folks were leaving with leftovers. I ordered steak and eggs this morning with extras and coffee for $22 before tip. Unheard of these days, but a highly appreciated cost to meal value! On to the food, starting with salsa. Simple-done-well is my take away for everything at Sed, including their fantastic red and green salsas. Red is tomato roasty, a bit tangy, and decently spicy, with red chili driving the flavor. If spicy isn't your thing, go easy on this, but don't miss out as it really enhances the flavor of the food. Green is bright, tangy from tomatillo and citrus, a bit herbaceous, and medium spicy. A green salsa should, IMO, lift the flavor of a rich dish, and this salsa does. The spice level is medium, with the Serrano and/or jalapeño chili providing enough heat to feel authentic. You can pick your salsa direction, but for me, these two salsas complement each other...or maybe I just can't ever decide This morning I ordered steak and eggs. I ordered sides of home made corn tortillas, pico de gallo, and shredded cabbage as is my habit. Often at a Mexican restaurant, the breakfast steak is tough and only seasoned by the sauce or salsa. Not so here. The steak was beautifully seasoned, tasting of citrus, herbs, aromatics, and the right amount of salt (I'd guess it was marinated for a good long while), then cooked to perfect medium rare (my request) with crispy bits at the ends. The steak was sliced for plating along side two sunny side up eggs that also had crispy edges, and served with 1/2 an avocado, cilantro, and pickled red onion. The pico de gallo looked freshly prepared with a good mix of tomato, onion, cilantro, jalapeño (without seeds so not spicy), and some lime. The shredded cabbage, typically raw and unseasoned, had some pico on it and maybe some lime. An extra nice touch for my breakfast veg. The tortillas were thick, hot, and a delicious accompaniment to this dish for stuffing, sopping, or both. It was SO good! I thought I would miss beans and rice because they are often served with this dish in other restaurants, but I did not. The $18 price point was the biggest surprise as they could have easily charged well over $20 for this dish. On past visits I've enjoyed à la cart tacos with Al pastor, asada, and chicken. Each protein was delicious, with the Al pastor shining brightest for me. This version of Al pastor was not as orange as is typical, but because of the crispy edges from the grill and a fantastic marinade, it is one of my favorite versions. The asada and chicken were both very flavorful and tender. Noticeable about these tacos is how hearty they are. Served in their awesome, house-made tortillas, filled with meat, topped with cilantro and chopped red onion, served with sliced radish and lime. These are some of my favorite tacos and as a So Cal native, I've been eating soft tacos for decades. I recommend topping with shredded cabbage and salsa for the perfect bite. While I am not vegan or vegetarian I often eat with friends and family with these diets. There are options to accommodate, including huevos rancheros, chilaquiles, vegan chorizo dishes, and more. This casual dining spot has captured my foodie heart. The menu isn't extensive, but it has a good variety of creative and familiar dishes to satisfy any palate. I can't recommend Sed Cocina highly enough and hope others will give this spot a try.

Every employee made us feel welcomed and made us feel at home. The food was outstanding: we had the chilaquiles and the tree leches maiz waffle and both were stellar recommendations. The flavor profile and delicate care with which they make their food is obvious. To drink, we enjoyed a dirty horchata and a fresh made orange juice; both were stand outs and added to the unique homey experience. Finally, this place doesn't just talk the talk. They genuinely care about the community, want genuine feedback to improve and care about their costumers. I will be back for both my birthday as well as my mother's. In love with SeD and excited to go back and try out their many other options.

Iron and Kin has a simple menu, which is nice, and about 6 small tables inside and 1 large one. It's a great spot to get some work done, with good music, nice decor, and a well-lit space. There's also some seating outside in the common area, but it gets pretty hot since the skylight is uncovered and lets in a lot of sun. I ordered the Peaceful Half Sweet with almond milk and the Worthy Regular Sweet with oat milk. Both drinks were a bit too sweet and milky for my taste. The Peaceful Latte had good spice notes and was smooth, but still too sugary for me. The Worthy Latte was just a decent vanilla latte--not really anything that stood out. Overall, the drinks were too milky and sweet, but the staff was amazing--super friendly, helpful, and patient. They definitely get 5 stars for service!

It's coffee, not a Michelin tasting menu. There are plenty of other coffee options in the village, so this is really a PSA for anyone considering stopping by. If you've got somewhere to be, or honestly even if you don't, this isn't the spot for a quick coffee run. And after all that waiting, the coffee itself is just... fine. Not bad, not memorable, just ok. For that much time standing around, I'd expect something worth the wait. It isn't. Save yourself the time and check out one of the other spots nearby instead.
