I will never eat here or recommend this restaurant to anyone. Myself and my husband decided to come in for a bite b/c we were craving chicken, waffles and Mac. We learned the pasedena Roscoe's had recently closed and so was Maple house in upland so we figured give Beola's a try and from the moment we walked in the vibes were just off and the 2 men in front were not welcoming at all. But yet we remained friendly. We decided to dine in and b/c I'm only a few days post surgery I set at a booth because it was more comfortable and my husband set at the both next to me b/c he likes to be able to see who is coming in and out of doors as a form of protection. The older gentleman proceeded to tell my husband that he would need to sit at the same booth as me even though we tried to explain to him scooting down for me would be painful and he just wanted to sit near me in the next booth( mind you the place was completely empty inside!) we really should have left when we were greeted with a foul smell and even more foul attitude. My girlfriend and I have been coming here for a couple of months and it's delicious! Different style of waffle than I'm used to...it's thin and crispy, but quite tasty. The fried chicken is probably some of the best tasting fried chicken I've had, and their brisket is quite yummy too (especially on fries). The owners are very sweet and genuine people that care a lot about your experience and satisfaction, while making sure you have everything you want and need. There are only about 4 - 6 tables, but inside feels cozy and they're always playing great music (from 50s - 70s mostly). They make their own Kool-aid too (blue and red)! Highly recommend! read more

We saw the menu and pictures and noticed the chickens were chicken tenders rather than legs/thighs/drumsticks. We gave this place a try, nonetheless. Waffles were really thin and crispy. Chicken sandwich reminds me of what we got when we were in elementary school - really small with store bought buns. Salmon was good but for it's price and portion, total highway robbery. Yes, it's chicken tenders but they are hand breaded chicken tenders that are delicious and well seasoned. The waffle on the other hand is mind blowing for me - so crisp and light dusted with powdered sugar that pairs so well with their softened butter and syrup! The right amount of sweetness for a sweet and savory dish! I also ordered their premium sides which is $6.50 each which is a bit steep in my opinion for the portion you get - but it is again, all homemade. I got the Mac n cheese which was so creamy and cheesy! Noodles were not over cooked which I appreciate cause some places do overdo it with the noodles. Collard greens were cooked just right with the smoked Turkey bits. I paired my meal with one of their kool aid options (cherry) which made this meal a 9/10 for me. Service / 10/10! The lady was so nice and kind. She really had a positive hospitality vibe and I would come here again to bring my friends!! Overall, a solid southern food place to try out! This is nothing close to southern cooking. Most of the food I ate was store bought with added seasoning. I ordered the waffle, which I thought was ok. The buffalo party wings definitely came out of a frozen bag, the mac and cheese isn't made with real melting cheese and was very salty, the potato salad was orange and had the consistency of store bought potato salad and they added seasonings that made it taste horrible, the corn bread could have been Marie Callendar's out of the bag mixed with water, and the desserts are definitely not made by a person. We had the chicken and waffle, potato salad, Mac and cheese and a piece of the most wonderful sweet potato pie. Great first visit. Awesome collard greens and very crispy and lightly coated ultra moist catfish. I cannot wait to try the oxtail dinner and the other fish offerings. I'm not a chicken and waffles guy but they have plenty of other choices. Very friendly guy working the counter who was great and attentive to all parties in the restaurant. Only two complaints. It is a little pricey for being served in to go containers and the seating is limited making it heavily reliant on take out when busy. He got the brisket fries, said they were pretty tasty but would've been better if they had a smoke taste/flavor like real bbq but gave them credit for tenderness I had the catfish, it came out nice and hot but the taste...well I've had much better. The fries were really good. The waffle was room temperature...like seriously!? Didn't even melt the whipped butter Super disappointing because it's called Beola's chicken and waffles. I had been passing by their place in Upland while it was being renovated, and when I saw that they were open, I seized the opportunity to have a business lunch there. I went the classic route the first time, with chicken and waffles being outstandingly enjoyable. The chicken was crisp yet tender inside, with perfect seasoning on the outside, and the waffle was beautifully fluffy, with flavor exploding in your mouth. Fast forward a week later - another business lunch. This time the catfish with potato salad. Fish was fried to perfection, and the seasoning was spot on; the potato salad was extremely enjoyable, regretting getting full very fast. Since then, I have been getting their peach cobbler for customers, as well as for my own team. I also had them cater for a meeting, serving fried chicken, salmon in butter-cajun-sauce, green beans, mac and cheese, potato salad and peach cobbler to round things off. All I can say is I had 20 VERY happy and satisfied individuals, fighting to take home leftovers! One last thing: ask for the Kool-Aid special - I could drink gallons of Alex' special mix! read more
