It's a medium casual restaurant with a few tables inside if you want to dine in. A lot of students pick up food from here though! Saw a crazy good online video ad for this place online so ya, I bit....Its next to the railroad tracks in downtown Claremont. I ordered Garlic noodles and wings while my girl had build your own Ramen. While I like the concept, it was executed with incompetence. The kid behind the counter looked at me like I was nuts when I asked: "ok so what should I do for 'build your own ramen'?" Woefully unhelpful...There were no directions but you order a ramen bowl, choose what toppings you want, then pick your Ramen pack from the selection on the wall, then, they bring you a bowl with your toppings. You then drop your noodle block into the bowl, then you use the hot water machines to add water. No directions anywhere. I was so put off I almost asked for my money back and just walked out. Eureka burger is right around the corner. It ALWAYS hits right. No directions required. Wings were very good. Crispy and a good size, the sauce on them was quite tasty. I chose Spicy Bomb sauce. The garlic noodles were NOT good however. Too al dente, and were nothing but rubbery ribbons of noodles that were hard to chew which was highly disappointing. If you come here, venture the build a ramen bowl, it was ok... Order some wings, they were good. steer clear of the garlic noodles. There might be some other things on the menu worth trying. The garlic noodles were pretty awesome, and I can never get too much garlic. The owner runs the show, so there were times when he was gone or taking care of other stuff when some Uber eats guy came in and waited for a bit to pick up his order. It's a great place if you're in the mood for chicken. I'd like to come back and try some ramen with the amount of selection I've seen here. The guys who were here ended up having a conversation in Korean (i believe), and it was cool to hear them connect. The guys bowing before they left was just cool to see also. Respect. Even though the wings had a nice glaze coating on them when you bit into the wing it had a nice crunch. The Spicy Korean Wings had just the right amount of heat and the Honey BBQ Wings had nice sweetness to them. The noodles were cooked well but could have had a bit more garlic. It's a good enough portion to share but the flavors just didn't hit. The steak was marinated in an extremely sweet sauce. I might have thought it was some kind of weird dessert if I closed my eyes. I prefer this style of nacho cheese but it's not saying much because I'm sure it came out of a can. The guacamole was bland and the jalapeños weren't spicy but they were really salty. I took a few bites of the chicken bowl and was done. I couldn't finish it because it just wasn't good. They use chicken breast which is probably one of the worst to use in this application because it dries out extremely easily and gets tough as it cools down. The rice tasted old and the texture was dry and hard. The toppings made absolutely no sense. You get two mounds of cold sides which will only work to cool down the rice and chicken. There seemed to be shredded egg covered in a sweet and creamy sauce and then a bed of coleslaw. Extremely unnecessary and doesn't work together at all. Again, the sauces were so sweet. I am thoroughly convinced that they're named Wings and Bowls because you will want to grow wings and fly far away. The service was also so bad. I think they got the Bowls part of their name because all the workers smoked hella bowls before their shift. The cashier that took my order seemed uninterested and also moved pretty slowly. I have no idea how many people they had in the kitchen but they also moved slowly. The cashier told me my order should be ready in 10 minutes but I waited 20-25 minutes. Tried something new today in claremont village and was pleasantly surprised! The prices were very fair with large portions, I made a pick up order on their website and it was ready in about 20 minutes. the wings were battered thinly so there was a soft crunch that was jam packed with flavor. My only critique is that the spicy garlic noodle was not spicy and honestly had a kind of tomato taste to it. Definitely subjective on my part but the regular garlic noodles are a lot better flavor wise. Truffle oil fries were delicious as well perfectly cooked soft but crunchy.
