Very impressed with this cute coffee shop at Mill Creek Towne Center. We tried Visible across the way a few days before and well... you can go check out my review for them if you'd like. But Bequest had been on my Yelp list to try and the day finally came. It's cozy inside and what I would call inviting. The order counter is at the front and then all the tables and hangout spots are at the back of the business. It's a bit dark but I think that vibes with the mood. The woman who helped us the first time was so freakin' sweet and kind to talk to. She gave us a full rundown of the place (maybe the owner?) and helped with our decision making. We got some of the special flavors that day (Pistachio Rose and White chocolate Cherry Blossom) and we really enjoyed both. The next time we both got a white chocolate lavender and I loved it. Lavender made in house :) I also got their Fremont Panini and it was so good. I'd get it again for sure. We plan on going back to hang out while we eat and sip and I'm looking forward to it. The pastries here are good but I would pass on their drinks. I ordered a black and white mocha and my boyfriend ordered a caramel latte. Both drinks were a huge disappointment and tasted burnt and sour. Sadly, we will not be returning. read more

Stopped in for a change of scenery from my desk at home. Grabbed a lavender latte and was able to snag a seat at a tall table. There were signs limiting the time that guests could stay, and with how busy it was I understand why. Not a great place if you're looking for somewhere quiet to work, and I wasn't able to find any wifi information anyways. Would be a good spot to meet up with folks to chat for a bit before exploring the rest of the Town Center. The coffee itself was alright. I'm normally a fan of lavender flavoring but didn't care for this one. It wasn't bad, but I would try something different next time. read more

The cafe was crowded on a Saturday afternoon, but we were able to snag the last table. It's pretty dim inside, I wish it had more natural light or lighting. There were some folks on their laptops studying. I prefer the cafe across the street - Visible Coffee. They had a list of seasonal drinks but we were bummed they were out of egg nog latte that day. I forgot to leave a review and this place deserves a review from me, because I don't screw around. I've walked by this place and never go in, probably because I can be lazy. Well, that was a massive mistake. This place rocks. There is a 100% chance I will return. The staff is very friendly, but not overkill. The coffee is great. The sitting area is very nice since they have a solid mix of- bar style high top tables, benches/couches, and a little book place. Didn't have anything from the menu since I just had lunch, but it looked pretty good. I've included a photo for others because I'm a nice guy. It's smaller than the other coffee shop across the street (spotted cow or some new name I don't remember), but I think prices are better and food is better and ambiance is better. Ok, only downside, but not really the places fault - a lady next to me was on a zoom call with no headphones. If this happens again I am totally going to pop up behind here and start having a conversation with the people on the zoom call until she puts on headphones. read more

I hate writing bad reviews but after being a regular at bequest and experiencing the same customer service a few times I have to say that they don't care about their customers  just about the profit. First off the girls taking the orders are always rude and second of all when I order açaí bowls I always ask for double peanut butter and they are quick to charge me but always "forget" to add the double serving of peanut butter. This happened twice already and it's honestly so frustrating that I pay for the extra and never receive it. read more

Had a pretty good experience here. Thought of trying it out after reading some amazing reviews from a Facebook group. The pastry was quite quite good. So fresh and flaky. Probably the best I have had in Seattle. The latte was also good and met my expectations. I was a bit disappointed with the sandwich though. The bread was soft, but it seemed to miss on the flavor. Maybe having something like a garlic butter on egg sandwich might have added that extra touch which I felt was missing. But overall pretty happy. I feel like I'm the odd voice here. But I really don't like this place. I've given it 3 tries. It's very close to me & there's so many positive reviews, I felt more chances I'd get better food/service. But no. And this visit, the rudeness from the staff at the register was so aggressive, I will never be back. Ever. And I really won't be missing much. Limited menu, I promise you the lattes/mochas are NOT great. The campfire mocha I got this time tastes watered down. Literally. So lackluster, I'm actually surprised, & this might be my worst mocha ever. The pastries are very good. But that's not unique, I can find that anywhere. The panini was ok. Kind of tasted like fish. Not sure why, I got turkey. Definitely NOT worth coming here. And be careful at the register ~ tip choices are 20%, 30% & 38%. Those are my choices!?!? And I go up & get my own coffee & pastries!? Even though you gave me an order #, so silly me thought I was getting items brought to my table. Apparently that's just for the hot items? I don't know why I've come here as many times as I have... I guess the atmosphere is okay if it's not super busy, but this is a cafe... Coffee matters. I've been stopping by here consistently for about a month due to its convenience, but I have yet to receive an even halfway decent drink. The drinks are always really sour here and today I found myself dumping my $6 drink from here to buy a $6 drink from Starbucks (which I don't consider to be real coffee... but at least it's consistently middle quality and not burnt). This was my first time visiting Bequest Coffee, and so far this place has left a good impression on me. I went here to study. I ordered the Sweet Flower which is one of their spring specials. The drink was smooth. It was not too sweet and the notes of lavender were subtle and not overwhelming. The barista was very hospitable. They checked in with me to see if I enjoyed the drink (I told them I was new to coffee). The ambiance and interior were nice (however, there are some parts in the cafe where it's dim). There's free Wi-Fi. Overall, great place to study or spend some time with friends! Will be coming back soon and maybe I'll try their delectable pastries. read more

Fantastic people working here. The checkout was fast, and food was out within 10 minutes and was even brought to the table. Food was pretty yummy. Minus one star for outdoor seating. First, heaters were off. Could be because it was light out, but it was pretty chilly and they took the knobs off so I couldn't turn it. Second, there was no clear passage through the seating, and the entrance/exit is very narrow and not accessible for all people (I.e. if you want to sit in a middle table you can't really squeeze past other tables if you are a bit bigger or have a wheelchair or crutches.) I had a truly embarrassing moment when going through a narrow space to leave (mind you there's no markers on ground. Maybe there's a small sign telling which direction to go???) but a lady was not very kind to me even though I was just trying to leave. On the verge of a verbal talking to by an older lady, and I do not like confrontation at all. Because of this, I am not coming back till after the pandemic when we can eat inside again, or when the outdoor seating passageway is expanding. I really enjoy cafes for the experience. It's disappointing because the seating was nice, and not one of those lack of air ventilation tents that are scattered around Mill Creek. read more

Bequest is a local favorite when you're looking for special hand crafted beverages that have great flavor. They have rotating holiday offerings and a consistent selection of pastries including a few gluten free items. Their smoothies are very flavorful and I need to say that I like that as the smoothie melts it doesn't have a strange texture like other smoothies can. Worth checking out for both food and drinks, the friendly staff are very consistent and polite and are very quick with their orders. In the morning when it's slow is the nicest ambiance as after 10 am like most coffee shops it fills up and seating is hard to find between strollers. read more

We ordered to go two cold brews (one with cream and vanilla/lavender and the second with coconut milk and vanilla) as well as two breakfast sandwiches (one with prosciutto, artichoke and cheddar, and the second with spinach and Gruyère, no tomato.) Unfortunately the coffees were not what we expected, the one with cream was overly sweet and the one with coconut milk tasted kinda strange, like it might've had chocolate in it or something. Although a bit on the spendy side, the prosciutto sandwich was satisfying, but the spinach sandwich was a bit dry and bland. We'll probably give it another try eventually since all the pastries are made in house and look stunning, but this first visit was a little disappointing. read more

Very cozy environment with frequent longer lines. Been here a couple times and service is inconsistent. Had to reduce the rating because what I was charged was not the same as the prices posted. No better coffee in Mill Creek, Snohomish and Everett area .. that I have found anyway. The only con is I wish they also had a drive through (well also better lid covers for to-go cups). The atmosphere is so comfortable .. I often get a coffee and sit back and read. I bring friends here to just have a break and sit and converse .. if I am lucky we take the couch in front of the fireplace. Everyone here (owners, baristas, servers, etc.) go out of their way to listen to your order (and you) to get the coffee and/or food just the way you want it. I walk in the Mill Creek area a lot and it is a great place to come after exercising and just take a break.
