My Background: I have been a slave to prescription glasses and contact lenses since 6th grade. After 27 years (I am 38 now), I decided to finally get iLASIK because of the technique's long track record and I can now actually afford the treatment. Facility Selection: I was referred to Dr. Berg's facility, along with a couple others, by my optometrist in 2025. I chose Dr. Berg's office based on pricing and accessibility. I received $900 off per eye ($3000/eye down to $2100/eye; the other places didn't offer) for the referral and he has several satellite offices that made it easier for me to drive to. These were the initial attractive factors. Care Quality: There's really no way for me to know what my experience could have been at the other laser correction facilities. However, I do not regret choosing Dr. Berg's office at all. At every point, from the personalized consultation to the actual procedure, I felt that I was in good hands. Both Dr. Berg and his staff are not only highly knowledgeable, but they were also very friendly and made my questions feel welcomed. When I read Dr. Berg's resume and mission statement, I felt assuaged to know that he is an experienced top-notch independent surgeon who used only state-of-the-art equipment and isn't running a LASIK mill. This meant that the chances of me needing an enhancement or touch-up are very low. I enjoyed interacting with Dr. Berg's staff as well. They felt like honest down-to-earth people that could relate to my pre-surgery anxieties. I appreciated the fact that they didn't try to push or sell me extra things. There is a Lifetime Commitment warranty that's optional. However, they didn't press me to buy it and I see that as a green flag. With how they measured my eyes and checked my candidacy twice, once during consultation and again right before the procedure, demonstrates a high level of professionalism, quality practice, and rigorous ethics to me. Facility Experience: I think that it's also worthwhile commenting on their offices. I went to the Arcadia one for the consultation and the Sherman Oaks office, where the actual procedure is done. Both were very clean and well-kept. The waiting, examination and operating rooms are very sterile and I felt comfortable being in them. Results: At the time of writing this, I am sitting at 3 days post-op and enjoying a glasses-free life with my vision being right as rain. As a matter of fact, I saw vision improvements immediately after my iLASIK procedure with Dr. Berg, and my visual acuity sharpened further as my eyes healed more. I am scheduled to see Dr. Berg directly for continual follow-up appointments to ensure that my eyes are fine. Closing Statement: For readers who see this review and are contemplating getting iLASIK, I genuinely recommend Berg-Feinfield Vision Correction. I'd be lying if I said that I wasn't scared during the actual procedure--I was terrified! But I honestly would've felt like that anywhere I went. Dr. Berg did an amazing job. For 8 years I could see like an eagle and read tiny print. At the time of my lasiks I was told that if my vision started to go down hill to go back and they would correct it for free. Not the case. I did not come up with that on my own. It also didn't mention that I referred all my friends. So now there is no way I would go back . That was a big selling point and I'm sad that they turned out to be full of it. I had LASIK with Dr. Berg several years ago. My vision was perfect for a while. Then my eyes became extremely sensitive to sunlight. I literally could not go outside for a second without them tearing up. Dr. Berg said it was because I have light eyes. Fast forward and now the vision in my left eye was become extremely blurry. I bought their lifetime guarantee, yet it does not cover anything "after a few years" according to their office. My only regret is not having done this procedure sooner. I finally gave in and decided to do lasik since I was tired of buying contacts, paying for new glasses annually, contact solution, etc. Was referred to Dr Berg by my optometrist office compared to other procedures (Smile and LaserIQ). Process was so seamless and everyone was extremely friendly. Every visit they continuously check my vision to ensure there are no changes and everything is accurate. I performed my dilation at my home optometrist and did all other procedures with Dr Berg's Burank and Sherman Oaks office. Day of procedure was explained thoroughly each time. Upon arrival they reran more testing before performing the procedure. I wish I did this review sooner because I remember all the assistants name. The assistant who went over my post op and prepared me for surgery was the best. She was so friendly and thorough through the entire process. She made sure I was comfortable first before she took me to the operating room. 1 valium unfortunately didn't cut it for me and so she gave me another half just to ease my nervousness. The assistants inside the OR was also friendly and explained to me the process while laying on the chair. They gave me a weighted bear to hug for my procedure and provided me a blanket to keep warm. Dr Berg was patient and talked me through the entire procedure. The only uncomfortable part was definitely the pressure of the device he used for the laser cutting but it wasn't anything bad. Everything else was so smooth and seamless. I thought it was cool that they even gave me a recording of my procedure which I was able to share with friends and family. Worst part of the entire process was the drive home since my eyes were BURNING so bad. It was extremely sensitive to light even with the sunglasses they gave me. I had to use my sweater to cover my eyes. The minute I got home I took the sleeping meds immediately cause I could not bear the burning. I passed out so fast and woke up at 9pm and was able to see clear as day. I was shocked. Sleeping and retaping the eye shield was the most annoying part but everything afterwards was so seamless. I had some burst vessels in each eye but that cleared in a week. Haven't had any complications nor experience dry eye but I still distill drops just to be safe. If you're on the fence about getting LASIK, this review is for you. I am writing this review 4 days post-LASIK with Dr. Berg and I will write an updated review in a few months from now when my vision stabilizes more. Consultation The consultation was free and lasted around 90 minutes. They checked my vision and measured my cornea's thickness to ensure I was a suitable candidate. They also dilated my eyes, so don't forget to bring sunglasses. Then, Dr. Berg came in. He was really nice and we talked for about 10 minutes. He answered all my questions and confirmed that I was a good fit for the procedure. Next, another doctor, Dr. Kim, did more tests on my eyes and answered a few more questions. She was super friendly! After that, I was taken to another room where pricing, pre-op procedures, and timelines were discussed. You don't have to make up your mind on the spot. They'll give you a folder with all the details. When you're ready, just give them a call to book your appointment. Tip: Get familiar with the procedure and all the potential side effects before your visit. That way, you can ask the right questions during the consultation. LASIK Day They re-performed all the tests from the consultation, plus did additional ones including cornea mapping. Dr. Berg does wavefront-guided LASIK, while some other places do wavefront-optimized. I was told the outcomes are very similar, but WFG is a tiny bit better because it's customized to your eyes (no treatment is the same), whereas with WFO everybody with the same prescription gets the same treatment. Either option works well. Before the procedure, I was extremely anxious but Dr. Kim provided reassurance that everything would be fine. Then, I received ibuprofen for pain and valium to help relax, accompanied by a thorough explanation of post-op care. Once the valium kicked in, they took me to the procedure room. I laid down on a more comfortable version of a dentist's chair. Dr. Berg numbed my eyes and narrated each step. There was no pain but some discomfort when the flap was created. Then he said "Lights out," my vision went black for about 15 seconds, but Dr. Berg counted down. Each eye's treatment took maybe 90 seconds. Upon standing up, I could see immediately. Dr. Berg taped goggles to my eyes, and that was it. Post-Op I was told to keep my eyes closed for at least 5 hours because it would sting, burn, itch, and water (this actually never happened to me). They also provided Ambien to help me sleep once I got back home. When I woke up and took off the goggles to apply eye drops, I could see right away. The following morning, I visited Dr. Berg for a quick check, which only took about 5 minutes. They scheduled me to return in 2 weeks for a follow-up. Current Vision and Side Effects I can see like I could never before but my vision isn't stable yet. Sometimes my vision goes in and out of focus and my vision up close is still blurry but I've been told and read this is normal while the eyes heal. It just takes time. That said, I see improvements every single day and I am able to live a normal life. I have a lot of red spots on my eyes from the flap creation. It doesn't look like an infection - it looks like you were hit in the eyes but this too is fading every day. Sometimes I have some light sensitivity It comes and goes but it doesn't really bother me. I just wear sunglasses inside the house when it happens. I do see halos and starbursts at night. Again, I've been told it will resolve over time. It isn't blinding but takes some time to get used to. None of these side effects were a surprise to me because I familiarized myself with the procedure like crazy. Overall I had a really good experience, and I believe Dr. Berg is an exceptional doctor. He's super calm and gets straight to the point. He's not the chatty type but he is very nice; he treats the whole thing like a medical procedure, not like a cosmetic one. The treatment includes 12 months of aftercare with regular checkups to make sure you're healing up well. One thing I'd suggest is letting patients choose to get the post-op eye drops from a regular pharmacy. That way, insurance could cover them. Right now, you can only get them directly from their office, adding an extra cost of $150 to the procedure. read more

My eyesight is really really very very bad. Now since I'm older,  my eye doctor from Kaiser and my other eye doctor says in the future, I need cataract surgery.  I also know I need Lasik surgery also to correct my vision since cataract surgery can only do so much to correct my bad eyesight. So while I was doing research on eye surgery, I found out that I suppose to do Lasix when I'm young, not when I'm older.  I decided to make an appointment to see if I'm still qualified for it or not. Most of the staff are nice except for one on the phone who didn't believe I needed both surgeries done.  I went to the office on my appointment. Everyone was nice. I think I surprised one lady who couldn't believe how bad my eyesight was.  After doing lots of eye checks, it is time for the final check up with the eye surgeon! I told him to just be honest with me. It doesn't matter if it's good or bad. So after checking my eyes and checking all the eye tests, he has bad news. I'm not qualified for Lasik anymore and I better off waiting until I'm qualified for cataract surgery with Kaiser.  I noticed the doctor is a little bit in a rush but I'm glad he is honest with me.  Do I recommend this place? Dr. Berg is the Best eye surgeon of all time. Best staff of all time. Best optometrists on staff. Great location with easy parking. I've had two major surgeries here with Dr. Berg. First was PRK type lasik 15 years ago, I walked out of the office and it was like I'd been cured of poor vision. It was amazing. Excellent aftercare and help the entire process. Surgery was easy. Then, recently, I developed a cataract in one eye. Had it taken care of immediately and chose the light adjustable lens to replace the cataract. The office is fast and efficient. I was able to finish my appointment in a timely manner (1 hour and 30 mimutes, plus or minus a few minutes) without a lot of waiting. All of the testing with camera equipment, vision check, and dilation were completed within this time frame. Do come prepared with questions. I was able to schedule my surgery about 3 weeks out from my consultation. This was a personal preference given I had a busy month and had to work out time off from work. I only time off for the day of the surgery and returned to work the following Monday. I think that the surgery went by smoothly. There was an initial nervousness, which is normal. My surgery took about 15 minutes to complete and I am really happy with my results. I did not feel anything during my surgery since my eyes were numb. I was given a teddy bear to hold on to, which was a nice touch to ease the nervousness. If you do forget to bring something warm to wear, you do have the option of having a blanket place over you to keep warm in the surgery room. There was some discomfort after surgery, tearing eyes, which is expected. It is really important to follow the surgery post-op instructions of sleeping and keeping the eyes closed after surgery; this helped tremendously. I was able to see after my surgery. My vision was a bit blurry, but I could see things clearer without my contacts or glasses. In the beginning of recovery, it felt like I was wearing my contacts and kept reminding myself to take them off even though I was not wearing them. I am a little over a week post-op and I can feel my vision becoming a little bit less blurry and settling in. I know the recovery is going to take a bit longer. I had both my eyes ICL surgery with Dr Berg and the results are beyond excellent! Dr Berg was very kind and professional and assured me along the way with my surgery.  Addressed my concerns and aimed for the best results possible.  After Dr Berg did my other eye ICL surgery, both my eyes gained 20 20 or better vision.  I never could see this sharp with glasses or contact lens ever! I have to apologize to Dr Berg, I was wrong about my night vision causes. Now with both eyes corrected,  my night vision is great with very little halos, not as much at all. I wish I had done this 10 years ago! I had the intraLASIK procedure done two weeks ago by Dr. Berg. I was referred to him by my optometrist. I had an initial consultation and eligibility appointment, which was very thorough and informational, not pushy at all. I scheduled my surgery, which went super well and lasted maybe 5-10 minutes(?!) with about an hour of re-testing my vision. During the surgery itself, Dr. Berg's staff made sure I was as comfortable as possible and the entire time I was in the operating room, Dr. Berg offered words of reassurance at every step, which I felt was super important and helpful given that you are awake for the entire procedure. With the numbing drops and Valium (standard to help keep you calm), I had minimal discomfort both during and after the procedure -- literally about 3 hours later my eyes felt mostly normal and I could see perfectly! By the next day my eyes felt great, barely any abnormal sensitivity. I would definitely recommend LASIK if you're eligible, and Dr. Berg to get it done! read more

I was recommended for laser surgery here by my optometrist. I did my due diligence and got multiple consultations at 3 other locations and decided that Dr. Berg's office would be the best due to location, ease of parking, niceness of the staff, and the cost was around the middle of all the consultations. Pre-surgery, both my eyes were about -9 to -9.5 each. Pretty much blind and I was desperately waiting for my eyes to stabilize before I could get some sort of surgery. Lasik and SMILE weren't an option for me unfortunately, so I went with PRK. The surgery itself was easy peasy. Recovery was very difficult for me since my original vision was SO bad. It took me about 2.5-3 months before I could see 20/20 and be fully functional on my own. It was rough, emotionally and physically. Fortunately I am not working at the moment and my boyfriend helped out a lot. But I don't regret doing the surgery because my life has changed so much for the better. Not having to wear glasses or contacts ROCKS. Being able to just wake up and see? Wow. I just passed my 6 month check in and I can see 20/20, still have dry eyes (pretty normal), and some halos when driving at night that will hopefully go away later. Every check-in with Dr. Berg was always pleasant and he answered all my questions and I felt very reassured and we were able to adjust my post-surgery care as needed thanks to all the check-ins. I had check-ins a day after the surgery, 1 week later, 3 weeks, 1.5 month, 3 months (decided to skip this one since I felt pretty good by then), and 6 months.
