1st world problems here and I clearly know that. It's just that I can not stand when a business does not honor their word. Unfortunately no Chevrolet Corvette C8Z for us. We were #14 on the list at Bergey's Chevrolet in Colmar, Pennsylvania for ordering the new Corvette C8Z06. I was told when my Wife and I put our names on the list, which may have been late 2020 early 2021, that they, Bergey's Chevrolet in Colmar, PA would be selling us the Corvette C8Z06 at MSRP when they became available which now I come to find out they will not be doing. In addition they turned it around and essentially called us liars by stating they never said that they would sell us the Corvette C8Z06 at MSRP. Makes sense now why they wouldn't take our money or put anything in writing. If they had told us that they were going to be adding additional dealer mark upfront it would have been completely fine. My Wife and I would have had a decision to make. But to tell us MSRP when we put our names on the list and NOW we come to find out they will not honor what they told us? Completely unethical business practice in my opinion. Anyway, no Bergey's Chevrolet in Colmar or any of their dealerships anywhere for any reason for us ever again. And if you do happen to buy a car there and they tell you Ed, in finance will be assisting you with your rate, take your check and shop elsewhere!!! And if you really want to buy your car from there anyways make sure to look very closely at all the costs worked into your price. They are very good at making it look like they are giving you a great deal but it will cost you. We drove 3 hours round trip from Maryland to PA for a 2012 Toyota Sienna. Twice. At the end of the day, my wife bought the van at a fair price. But here's what separates Bergey's from the pack. No pressure. Professionally kind. All the transactional bumps were smoothed out. They sent us on our way with a FULL tank of gas AND when the van required $200 worth of repairs to pass MD inspection, rather than asking us to drive back for them to do the fixes - they sent us a check and said - have your mechanic take care of it. I recently test drove a Buick Enclave at Bergey's Colmar Chevrolet. What a disappointment! The Car smelled and was very dirty on the inside. I ask the Car dealer to contact me when the car passed the Certified pre-owned status and was cleaned on the inside. The Dealer told me they do not clean the inside of cars until the car is sold and the car had no yet passed the "Pre-Certified". No call, I guess that is the reason this car is still sitting unsold on the lot. I have been a very loyal Bergey's customer. This dealership is unacceptable to carry the Bergey's name. I had a very nice buying experience with my new Chevy Traverse. Laverne Schmell was the salesman. Bergey's had the best interest rate, compared to my bank, and another dealership. They also had a lot more vehicles in stock and the nicer trim that I was looking for. I have had the vehicle for a few months and I enjoy driving it. We have been on a few long trips to Maine, Indiana, and Maryland, and the new safety features are great! I have used the service department for an oil change. Unfortunately, I must say this was by far the worst experience I have ever had a Bergeys. I purchased my last two vehicles from Bergeys and have used them for service for well over 5 years. My vehicle went in for inspection and was not ready for over a week. During this time there was no communication on the status of my vehicle. I was told the part needed for my exhaust would be in the shop in two days and I could expect my car to be ready. The first communication I received was a week after my car was dropped off, telling me that the part was not in. Upon picking my car up, mind you it was there for inspection, the tire pressure in one of my tires was '20'. I am beyond appalled at the service received. My experience left me frustrated and no longer trusting Bergeys. read more

We were looking for a used truck and purchased a 2013 Chevy Silverado in 2019. It had 38,000 miles on it which is not much for being 5 years old. We test drove it well and also looked over it well. We knew it had some rust but it was covered and hidden well during the sale. Once home, we took it for inspection a few months later and our mechanic showed us all the rust underneath. The truck is completely rusted out underneath, and the frame was also rusted out so bad that it needed welded back together is several spots. Pathetic and this truck should have never been sold to us in this condition. It is so rusted the frame is not trustworthy, so it being paid off and traded in ASAP. They sold us junk. read more

I just recently bought a car from this location, Friday before last...less than two weeks ago. A certified pre-owned Impala. Took the car home on Friday, left the office on Tuesday to find my car sitting on the rim! Luckily, I had already bought rims and tires for it and was heading to the tire shop at that time anyway. What a pain! I'm thinking, I must have ran over a nail! Now I'm going to have to get this tire cleaned and repaired and then the others installed. The tire shop took longer than I expected and I was beginning to wonder what was wrong?!? They finally finished and told me the flat tire didn't have a nail, it was falling apart and couldn't be repaired...but there was a second tire with a nail that they removed and plugged. After returning home, I inspected the remaining two tires and found an old plug in a third tire!!! This means Bergey's Chevy sold me a "Certified Pre-Owned" car....with "allll the inspections" they tell you the car has gone through...with AT LEAST 2 bad tires, possibly 3. I called service and they said they check the tire to make sure the tread is 5/32. I emailed the salesman and this was his response... "Hi Ron, The tires are inspected for certification, you do have Roadside assistance if needed. Hope all is well. Thank you," Didn't expect a response like that! The day I picked up the car It was rushed...I noticed the salesmen had two other customers there to see him. The only good thing I have to say about this place is the fact that they don't come out to haggle you when step on their lot... like ever other dealer you've ever been to. read more

Went there last week to look at purchasing a used vehicle advertised on their website. Max, the salesman showed us the vehicle and we repeatedly asked for the car-fax and inquired as to the cars history mainly to make sure it had not been in any accidents previously we told it was not in any accidents. Max, our salesman, said it would be OK to go get some lunch while they prepped the vehicle. During lunch at Gumbas pizza, Max called to say there was a customer on the lot inquiring about the car we were looking at buying. If we were serious, we should place $100.00 hold fee. So we gave our credit card information thinking it was a good car although no negotiation or papers were signed. After lunch we noticed the car being driven to the service department 20 minutes after getting back to dealers lot. We asked for car-fax two more times so we could look it over while the car was being prepped. An hour later we were told the service department detailers were going home and the car would be ready the next day. No problem, we figured, but we asked one last time for the car-fax and 15 minutes later we received it and went home after making appointment to come back the next day to sign the papers etc. When we got home we looked at the car-fax and it had an accident reported on the title with no details on severity whether moderate or minimal. We called the dealer in the morning to decline purchase due to accident reported on car-fax. Max explained that the hold fee was nonrefundable. We are currently disputing the charge through our credit card company. read more

From purchasing my truck at this dealership in 2013 to services I have had done in the past this dealership / service center had been the best experiences I have yet had when it comes to buying / maintaining a vehicle. A special thank you to Leto for making the initial experiences the best one possible that I still share with others till this day. In making my last service appointment as of 2/204 this would be my honest review: Making an appointment was easily done over the phone with a convent time that worked best for me. The staff at the service desk were friendly and quick to greet me as well as get me checked in. The vechile came back in the same condition with no scratches dents or oil marks on or in my vechile. Service prices seemed fair. The waiting area was clean, comfortable, and welcoming. Over all I would of rated this experience a 10/10 except one request I asked for was improperly done or improperly translated somewhere in the communication. I would imagine this is not a routine service request and I plan on making another appointment with this dealership to get the problem fixed. read more

Money hungry, vultures!!! Never take your car here or to their Franconia dealer unless you want to get seriously ripped off! When I bought my 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt from these guys a few years ago they told me it was never in an accident, which I later found accident related papers in the glove compartment. For a car not even ten years old and barely 70,000 miles on it, I was concerned when the engine began bucking and the check engine light was on. Naturally I took it to the dealer to determine the problem, since a car like this should not be having engine issues already. It turns out they had to replace the cylinder head and gasket, which I understand can be costly parts. The total labor and parts on the job ended up being $3,000 for a job that should have only cost around $1,000 at any normal garage. I then asked them to check out my driver side tire yet again which I had their dealer in Franconia look at over a year ago because the tire was losing air slowly and becoming an increasing problem. Both of them had me replace the tire but said the rim was a discontinued part they could do nothing about. Today I had a friend who is an auto mechanic look at it and determine that it had nothing to do with the tire or the rim to begin with, it was a simple issue that the bead wasn't cleaned. So the slow leak was occurring due to lack of a tight seal between the rim and tire, which is a simple fix apparently of cleaning the bead. This issue has been worsening for two years only for my friend to tell me the real problem after looking at it for five minutes! On top of that, when my friend took the tire off today he said the driver side tire was put on with 50 torque when it requires 150 torque! He said I was lucky my wheel didn't fly off while I was driving and that I could have been in a serious accident because they don't know how to put a tire on correctly! I will never bring a car here again and as a matter of fact I will be selling this piece of crap and I will never buy a Chevrolet again in this lifetime! read more

Extremely dissatisfied with my recent service appointment it was my first inspection and I decided to take it to the dealer for them to inspect my vehicle which I purchased from them only to find out that they are not welcoming of vehicles that have been modified in any kind of way example they do not like the color output of my HID headlights. fail! they do not like the lift kit 3 & a half inches only on the front end. fail! they don't like customized vehicles. I would not have brought my car here if I knew this, as a matter of fact when I bought my car the salesman and I had a lengthy conversation about the customizations I had planned for my truck, lift kit light stereo Exedra not once wasn't mentioned to me that there dealership is so strict and by the books that these types of things will make me fail on my inspection and of course they still want to be paid whatever just warning people this is not a customized vehicle friendly service center. Very disappointed and I do NOT recommend based on my experience. I test drove a 2018 certified Chevy Traverse on Tuesday. I was happy with Ken Bobb, my salesperson and loved the vehicle. On Friday, Ken and I negotiated and agreed on the price of the car but were still finalizing my trade-in value. I had planned to come in after work but Ken had to leave at 4pm for a family function. We agreed that I would come the next day (Saturday) to finalize the purchase and I'd either trade my car there or take it to CarMax bc I already had a satisfactory offer from them. I had wanted to take the new car home that same day, but Ken said giving him til Monday would allow them more time to clean up the car. At 4:02 I tried to reach him to confirm, but he had left for the day. I spoke to Ken Long, the Sales Manager and we reviewed the same details and he agreed to take a look at my current car to see if they could align with CarMax offer, but he said he was sure we could come to agreement on that. At about 5pm Ken L and I spoke again to finalize small details, and I again confirmed that I was agreeing to their asking price, and didn't mind trading in or selling to CarMax, but that either way I would buy the car. And here is where I made my mistake- I did not insist on going there Friday night to close the deal. I was trying to be courteous to Ken Bobb to ensure he got the commission, naïvely assuming we agreed to finalize the purchase Saturday morning and all was good. Well, apparently not, because I got a call at 10am Saturday, just 1 or 2 hours before my appointment with Ken B, informing me the car was sold! Classic example of "no good deed goes unpunished." They then explained that no deal is done until the sale is finalized. In other words, our agreement was worthless without $ in hand. So much for courtesy and ethics. I would have gladly come in Friday had I known that was the only way to ensure they wouldn't sell the car out from under me. Cars are commodities- there is always another one and I have no doubt I will find one I'm just as happy with or happier than this one. But reputation is priceless, and this dealership did nothing but hurt theirs over 1 deal. I've purchased many vehicles over the past 30 years, and this was by far the worst experience. read more

Three years ago, I signed a truck lease with Bergey's and had a very satisfactory business relationship at that time. The staff was courteous and pleasant but times have clearly changed. Recently I went back to discuss my options as my lease is coming to an end. The salesman was unwilling to consider negotiations even as minor as three free oil changes with buying out the lease or forgiving overdue miles towards a new purchase. The manager/ owner demonstrated a level of unprofessionalism that was astounding. Comments such as "our business can't afford that, would you like to take a look at our books?!" seemed both surprising and very inappropriate. The business practice seemed to lack a general sense of honesty, blaming GM for their uncompromising offers; negotiations that two other local GM dealers were happy to accommodate. In the future I will actively discourage my friends and family from purchasing/leasing a vehicle from Bergey's in Colmar. Please shop around! read more

Let me start off by saying I purchased a new truck last April (2011). Now nobody told me then that I get my first oil change for free. So, during the last year, I've gotten emails from the service department at various times saying it is time to bring my truck in for an oil change, or for the windshield wiper recall... So I email him back, twice with no reply from him.. Ok... So I'm not really from the area, and I keep getting these coupons in the mail for Bergeys Tire and oil.. So I called them up and made my first oil change appointment with them, thinking they are the same place i purchased my truck.. The dealer. ok... I got there and they said i'd have to take my truck into the dealer to have the recall performed. That was when i realized that they are not the dealership. Whoops. No big deal, my fault. They were very polite and affordable.. So anyway, now I've still been getting emails from the dealer telling me about this recall, and that his records indicate it's time for an oil change.. So i sent another email, with no reply again... Why have email if you don't plan to use it??? So anyway, months later I'm on the phone with OnStar, and they re-inform me of my recall.. So I tell them my issues of having trouble making an appointment with the dealer.. ( yes I could have called to make an appointment, but I had emailed plenty of times... And it's way easier for me to email than pick up a phone) so they offer to call the dealer and set up an appointment. Ok, since I'm on the phone now, sure why not, so we call Bergeys service center, and we make an appointment.. He tells me a tire rotation is $14.95, and I get a free oil change since I purchased my truck there.. Ok, great. Nobody told me that before.. Nice!! Ok so a couple days later I get another email from this service center informing me that it is time for an oil change, tire rotation, an windshield wiper recall.... So email back again saying that I already have an appointment made... So later in the week, I get an email confirmation of my appointment!!! Finally!! We're in 2012!! So I'm not wanting to wait long during the service appointment, so I show up at 730am on Saturday. I'm the first customer to walk in, the employees are still opening up shop... A man by the name of Jesse helps me. Ok, so first, he can't find my appointment, next he tries to charge me $19.95 for the tire rotation, AND he tries to charge me for my free oil change... I politely, ( as politely and articulately as I can at 730am) explain the error in their charges.. He makes some changes, reprints the service document that he wants me to sign, and hands it over to me. Nowhere does it say any dollar amounts, so I ask him again, "ok, can you tell me what the charges are for all of this?". And he fires back," $14.95 like you said!". I look at him and sign the form... Now keep in mind when I drove up, there was very little parking. I felt this to Be very strange. They're making their customers park far away from the entrance.. Then they ask you where your car is parked... And you have to point and say, " well back behind your uhaul trucks in the 3rd or 4th row back"... I mean get real.. Making me park that far away is like asking me to never come back. Their parking lot is filled with random cars.. I just counted, and I see about 35 cars parked in a lot that holds 40 cars. And the empty spots are far away from the building.. I think a little parking organization is in order... I was informed over the intercom that my truck service was complete. so, I go up to the counter to pay, and the bearded gentleman was perfect. great customer service skills, very polite. A tire rotation, oil change, and windshield wiper bolt tightening took 1 hour almost on the dot from when I sat down in their customer lounge. not as fast as it could have been. this could have taken them 15 minutes if they organized the work accordingly. and by the number of customers waiting in their customer lounge, ( ~8 by 8am ), I'd say they have the demand to pump out repairs fast. Summary - poor response to emails - Appointment not in their system, making me verbalize every aspect of appointment along with pricing... - Jesse was a little on the rude side - why was I quoted $14.95 for a tire rotation on the phone, then almost charged $19.95?? why the price discrepancy?? - parking needs customer oriented organization - designated parking for drive up customers. employees should park far away from entrance. any vehicles parked long term need to be parked somewhere other than first row. - customer lounge needs renovation, especially bathroom. - random employee had poor attempt at facial hair, looks very dirty, and greasy, and he needs to shave. (also a shower) - bearded gentleman who finalized payment was awesome! - not convinced I'll go back, I've had better experiences at other shops read more

Tony worked with me to speed things up because I was super excited to get on the road in my new car. Great dealer bar none. my friend's daughter just drove from westfield nj to colmar pa on my recommendation and purchased a used car from this dealer. i would normally have stayed away from recommending a dealer especially for used cars, but it paid off big. she was and is extremely happy with the vehicle and told me that she had a great experience from picking out a car to the delivery and they even did the motor vehicle work for her even tough she was from new jersey. as i previously wrote about this dealer that i was always completely satisfied not only when i purchased a new car but even with the follow up. I bought a car from Bergey's last week- worked with Matt Cerefice. I have purchased several vehicles over the years and I can tell you I dread it. You know the drill - search for a car online, go in, talk to a sales person who has to talk to his manager who in turn comes over and puts on the pressure. Never a straight number - always some reason you must buy today, NOW! So I found a car online, went to Bergey's (after a bad experience at another dealership). We walked in and Matt casually came over to me in the show room and asked if anyone was helping me yet. He was a very polite, no pressure salesman. We asked to first have our trade in evaluated which they happily complied with. Bergey's offered what we considered to be a fair price then allowed my husband and I to take the car we were looking out for a drive by ourselves. No holding the keys to our trade in - they were given right back to us! No going on the test drive to pressure us. No copies of drivers license and insurance just to drive for 5 minutes. What a refreshing experience this was! Matt took all of our information for the paperwork and we stayed with him, at his desk until the papers were ready to be signed. We didn't feel like we were pushed around and left waiting over and over again as we have in the past. Jessica handled our paperwork and was very polite, efficient and quick in her work as well. All in all, we paid the price in the window - which was a fair price and the lowest we found on the big websites for a car of the same year / mileage. We got a fair price for our trade in. We were in the dealership for less than four hours (needed to pick up kids so requested things to be done as quickly as possible). Most importantly - We never felt pressured - EVER. New and Used cars are sold on the same floor by the same reps so you don't feel like a second class citizen because you are buying used. I can't say enough about how nice this transaction was. Took my truck in to get an oil change, tire rotation, and state inspection. The oil change & tire rotation are listed on my service schedule so the truck is due. Upon bringing it in, I confirmed the services to be performed. I was contacted later in the day to pick up. Upon picking up, I found that only the front tires had been rotated. I know this because I marked the tires ahead of time to ensure they did get rotated. When I called them out upon picking it up, they claimed that they cannot rotate the rear tires on a dually. So I left since they didn't want to do their job. So then I read the service manual once I got home finding out that you can change the rear tires. So after I called back, they lied to me and told me the technician had rotated the rear tires (again... I marked the tires so this is a lie). I called them out on that and then they finally agreed to rotate the tires. I had to show them the service manual that explains how to do it as well. Terrible experience overall. No apology... nothing. read more

Bergeys picked up my truck from my place of employment today and installed floor mats, made me an extra key and re-detailed the areas I requested. Upon completion of these things I received a text with pictures from my sales person and news that my truck is back on its way to me. I still paid more than I was quoted but the other issues have been resolved. read more
