They didn't have exaclty what we wanted so we sent in lots of inspiration pictures. They created a custom mold of the ring for me to try on prior making sure I liked the size and proportions. We had a fantastic experience at Bergstrom. My now fiancé had an heirloom diamond that was in a necklace setting that we wanted to use for my engagement ring. We worked with Barb from the beginning, and she was delightful. She is kind, knowledgeable, witty, and makes the process fun. I changed my mind half a dozen times on the setting I wanted, and they were some drastic changes! She was amazing throughout the whole experience and just laughed (in the kindest way possible) at my crazy design changes that happened at least once a month. The owner is awful and has absolutely no customer service skills. He's kind of a snot, and if your jewelry isn't what he considers "worth the time and effort" he just slaps in some glue, charges you top dollar, and calls it fixed. He did this with a ring setting that we purchased from them at top dollar. Do not take your business here - he will just frustrate You. My wife has been going to Bergstrom for many years, since our insurance company recommended them to replace an item she had a claim on. She's had a number of items serviced (who knew jewelery needs servicing?) and made various purchases. A few weeks ago I drove her over (she doesn't like driving in the area) to drop off a pair of earrings for new backs. The guy told her "around $24 apiece, I'll call if it goes over that" and said if she came before four on a weekday to pick them up, they'd redo the rhodium on a couple rings while she waited. I've been home with an injury for a week so she decided to go pick up the earrings herself. They charged her $150 (yes, that's three times the estimate, and no one ever called to update it) and said she'd have to leave the rings because "the jeweler is busy." She told them she didn't live in the area and she said they didn't seem to care. I called and told them how disappointed I was with their chain-store-level service. I guess we don't spend enough to qualify for that "family-owned service" thing they market. read more

I recently had my vintage engagement ring repaired at Bergstrom and I can not recommend them highly enough. The service was professional, very knowledgable, and friendly. The repair was expertly done and must have included a free cleaning. The ring shines 100x more than it did before. I'm really impressed! The staff said the woman who does the repairs has 25 years experience. Even better, repairs are done on site, so my ring never left the security of their store. The repair was done at a great price. I found a coupon for 20% off repairs on their website. If they work this hard for a minor repair, I would expect that anyone wishing to purchase jewelry would also be very happy. I stopped into Bergstrom Jewelers to ask if they could re-size my wedding ring. Our dog bit my finger a while back and after healing over my finger is bigger than it was and my ring no longer fit. Anyway, I met Rod Else, who measured the ring and my finger, said re-sizing would take "about a week," and went to the back room, I thought to work up a price. As a first time ring buyer, I visited a lot of jewelry stores and got a lot of sales pitches. Bergstrom's was the only one where I truly felt comfortable. They have very friendly staff who are willing to answer any questions you may have and aren't pushy. Sorry Bergstrom. You have always been our go to jeweler. Unfortunately Bob was helping us with selling our family sterling silver place settings and gold jewelry. He promised within a 1 to 2 week period of getting a check. I called after 2 weeks and then 3 weeks and finally 4 weeks. He had an excuse every time. Bergstrom Studio was wonderful!! I had the pleasure of working with the team to design a wedding band to go with my late Grandmother's engagement ring. I never got to meet my Grandma Doris, but had always dreamed of wearing her ring when it was my time to walk down the aisle. Bergstrom Studio resized my grandmother's ring perfectly. For the wedding band, my mother-in-law, Carol gave my now husband, Ian one of her grandmother's heirloom earrings. I used the smaller diamonds from the earring and Bergstrom Studio designed a GORGEOUS wedding band. Also, they melted down my grandpa's ring to use the yellow gold to set the diamonds. Bergstroms encouraged me to not break up the setting piece of the earring and perhaps add a replacement stone and make a charm. Through consultation with the Bergstrom team, we landed on replacing where the diamonds used to be with beautiful seed pearls. At the groom's dinner, I gave my mother-in-law the earring, now a charm, on a necklace strand as a gift to thank her for everything she does and for raising the man of my dreams. i shopped around to find a jeweler who could re-cast a family ring in white gold. their service was IMPECCABLE and personal. they let me speak directly with their on-site jeweler, whose work ethic and passion were evident in her work. they also offer on-site appraisals. they were honest, consistent, and timely in their work--the work was completed days before the promised delivery date. their prices are extremely competitive and i could not be happier with the final product. i'm happy to have a small, local business to support! read more

I made a random stop into Bergstrom Jewelers at West End yesterday to get a new battery in a watch. While I was there, I was talking to one of the staff about the cost getting my rings re-plated with rhodium. He said they could do it on the spot for about $35 a ring. Just now had an awesome experience with this place. I bought a watch online and a new strap for it as well. Took it to a jeweler at Ridgedale that was going to keep it overnight and charge $15 for the band install and sizing. I had no problems with the price but couldn't afford the time. So I took it to Bergstrom's. They have a man there that does full watch cleanings, repairs, batteries, bands... you name it. He's a super nice guy full of enthusiasm. He took it and immediately went to work on it. I'm guessing in about 3 minutes he was done with the install. We then made 3 adjustments for fit. Whole thing took no more than 10 minutes. Then he refused to charge me anything. I'm blown away. I would never expect them to do that every time but it was an exceptionally kind gesture. I WILL be going back for all future watch needs but next time I'm going to make him charge me. Awesome place and I'm officially a loyal customer. read more
