I'm not sure what's going on logistically but I spent 3 hours waiting here for my visit, with practically zero updates from anyone. When I finally went up to the back office to politely check on my status, the staff felt like they were very dismissive. I went for my yearly eye check up, which was great. Then got my eye glasses prescription,had really bad experience. They could never give me right prescription even after 3 attempts . I had an appt with Berkeley Eye Center Pearland a couple months ago and was told there would be at least 45 minutes wait. I had another appointment that day and decided to reschedule my eye appointment. Due to the nature of my eye appointment, I was told it would be a couple months away and it was scheduled for 9:45. Today, I am told my appt was 8:00 and I can stil be seen but I will have to wait "since you were late". My appointment was absolutely not at 8:00. When inquiring about it they state "appt changed by patient". This is extremely inconvenient and affects my appt with my specialist (who is also difficult to get scheduled with) as it is dependent on the results of my eye appt. I am disappointed with the level of inconvenience and I am taking my and my daughter's services elsewhere. Office is a little oddly located, 2nd floor, but very nice inside. Doctors and staff are polite and professional. Doctor Sun did my cataract surgery on both eyes - 2 weeks apart. But had to go downtown Houston for actual surgery. Absolutely no pain or discomfort, and the results are amazing. Imagine not having to wear glasses (except for reading small print) ever again - it's great. I highly recommend Berkeley Eye Center. Doctor Thomas is great also. read more

Dr Yang and all his associates were extremely thorough. Dr Yang explained all three different cataract len options to me I detail so I was able to make a very informed decision. I chose to go with the light adjustable lens and one eye down and I don't really need my glasses. I won't ever visit the Pearland location again. I had an appointment with Doctor Kokel yesterday at 10:45 I arrived at 10:30 when I arrived, there was only two people sitting in the lobby. I was pretty much taken to the back right away for my eye pressure test and by 10:40 I was sitting in back lobby waiting to see the doctor. I saw people coming and going while I was just sitting there for the next 35 minutes when I finally asked what was going on and the only reply I received was the doctor will be with you soon. Remember keep in mind there was only two people in the lobby when I got there. I saw these two people come in to the lobby I was sitting in come in after I did and left. After waiting on another 10 minutes for a total of 45 minutes sitting in the back lobby waiting to see the doctor. I finally got up and left, but before leaving, I asked to speak to the office manager because I wanted to know why I sat back there for 45 minutes when their office was practically empty and her only excuse was they had three doctors on hand. But I pointed out to her there's nobody in the office. The lobby is still empty it made absolutely no sense to me. This is the third bad experience. I've had at the Pearland location. The first time was the optical department when I went to get glasses she insisted my glasses were not covered by my insurance when I knew this was incorrect. But I left and called the insurance company and of course I was right and she was wrong. I contacted the office manager to let them know how incompetent she was in rude. After today's visit I did make sure to tell them to cancel my future appointment and to please remove me from their email and call list because I won't ever go back there again. For my future appointments, I will be driving all the way into Houston to avoid going to Pearland location for their bad service . read more

Unfriendly and unnecessarily rude assistant who did the glaucoma test. The front desk staff was friendly and welcoming but the assistant was irritable and short tempered. There is no need for this type of attitude in a medical office. read more

I am so happy this Pearland location has moved. Although I have had the Lasik procedure, I still go for my annual eye exams. I love their social distancing practices. I was so happy with the time that their Doctors spent with me explaining my options and that I did not necessarily need to wear glasses at this time , but a small correction would be available if I chose . I was so delighted with the treatment that I experienced so I went in and decided to get Rx sunglasses. The technician, Posh took a lot of time with me and helped me to find just the right pair and fit. I can not wait for them to come in, I am so excited for my sunglasses to come in. read more

Pete S. I visited the Berkeley office in Pearland in early May to order a new pair of glasses. I supplied a new frame for the prescription. After the glasses were ordered and I paid up front, I was contacted by the office a few days later and informed that I was misquoted - that the glasses would cost an additional $230. I went back to the office to cancel the order and request a refund. It is now two weeks later and the refund has yet to be processed. I went back to the office again to inquire the status, and was met by office staff that told me the office manager was gone for the day and I would have to come back. After insisting that I be helped one of the staff members made a call and advised the the refund would be processed. Other than this generally poor service, I ended up getting new glasses made up by another local supplier. Instead of having to pay Berkeley over $500, after the $300 insurance discount, I paid the provider I did use $320 without having to use my insurance discount. Not sure why anyone would buy glasses from this establishment. I gave the review a 1 because I couldn't give it a 0. read more

I had my eyes examined yesterday at the Pearland location and the staff was very cordial. Mary who did most of the pre-exam work was very understanding and seemed to care about my comfort and concerns. My dr. was Nikki Kokel and she also was extremely diligent and spent quite a bit of time with me. I never felt rushed or made to feel that I was just another person to see before quitting time. Dr was good however their billing sucks. informed them prior to visit that I was a Medicare patient and the way they sent the bill to Medicare resulted in me having to pay 45.00 dollars more out of my own pocket due to the exam and the determination of refractive state being billed separately. it is difficult when you are on a fixed income. This is why I will not recommend Berkley Eye Center. read more
