Let's start with the Biscoff Vietnamese coffee--it was delicious! The cold foam was thick, creamy, and perfectly sweet. As I sipped the iced coffee, the flavors blended together really well. My only complaint was the amount of ice in the cup. There was quite a bit, so if you don't drink it fairly quickly, the coffee becomes watered down. The sandwich was fresh, flavorful, and served on soft bread that wasn't hard or overly chewy. I also liked that they offered a wide variety of sandwiches, so there's something for everyone. My neighbor got me and my husband to go food from Lee's on a Saturday morning. I haven't had it in 5-6+ years so I was excited to try it again after a long time. We got the special combo banh mi, grilled beef banh mi, and Vietnamese coffee. The banh mi was much bigger than I remembered! It took me two meals to finish it. It was delicious and fresh. The bread was crispy and not too dense. The meats were perfectly balanced with veggies & the mayo was perfect. My husband enjoyed his grilled beef sandwich but also couldn't finish it in one sitting. I love the generous portion and having leftovers for later. I'm picky about the mayo. The viet coffee is always my go to at any viet cafe but this one was little too sweet for me and I didn't notice the traditional flavors like I'm used to. So if you're not used to eating these types of meats and don't wanna try it, then I'd recommend the bbq pork. These banh mi's come with pickled daikons/carrots, jalapeños, and other veggies. Overall, decent price for a fresh and crunchy 10in banh mi. They also sell their Vietnamese butter mayo, Pate, desserts, and snacks. The staff are super friendly and fast. The dine in area is huge so you shouldn't have any problem finding a place to eat. They also have a drive thru and restrooms and an armed security guard. Lee's has been around for a long time in the Chinatown area as a staple for banh mi and other things Vietnamese. It's located in a somewhat run down plaza and serves as more a hangout spot for older folks than anything during the times that I've went to get takeout. Due to inflation, the banh mi's are around $6-7 now compared to the $2-3 years ago. Service is very minimal/nonexistent; you walk up to the counter, order, and wait at the pick up counter. There's plenty of baguettes baked in house in the background. Interior is very meh and not very inviting to eat; the good thing about this place used to be a fresh baguette and a cheap, solid banh mi. The bread is still decent sized (you can eat 1-2 and be stuffed) but the toppings on the inside have shrunk quite a bit. Ordered the #11 combination and the #5 grilled pork. The combo had some sliced Vietnamese deli meats, some butter, pickled carrots, and veggies. This is probably the classic sandwich. The grilled pork was slightly sad; the pork was a bit tough and bland and there also wasn't much of it in there so you'd be eating mostly bread. Overall, this is still a decently quick takeout spot for banh mi if you happen to be in the area. I wouldn't recommend to eat inside as I felt pretty out of place standing around and the plaza isn't the nicest. read more

I got to try a non traditional banh mi. This one has fish patty in it. It was actually pretty good. Which I do enjoy eating fish patties anyways. Goes well with the fresh veggies. The parking lot was full of worst drivers in Houston. Trying to drive a short distance from the entrance of Fountain Square to drive thru window was the hardest thing to do. Where did all these people learn to drive?? One car took 3 parking stalls to maneuver out of his spot to exit. One car wants to get out and another car squeezed by stalled cars to get on front of every car waiting in line. Then, one car backed out and didn't look for other cars. OMG. I almost got hit. The only good thing about this giant mess was no one honked and no one screamed. I should want to get out of my car to scream. WAHT DAH FOOK YALL GETT OUT DAH MA WAY!!! Not sure how the first menu looks different from second menu. First menu showed chicken pate sandwich but when I drove up to pay. They gave us chicken pate pastry. I looked at them confused. Then, they corrected it by charging the difference and gave me part of order on the spot. I drove to second window waiting for combination sandwiches. That got me wondering why everyone disappeared behind me. Looks like they got their order and took off. The lady brought me a bag of something I didn't order. Then, say "sorry wrong person." The was the worst fast-food drive thru service in the whole wide world. I would not even bother to eat here ever again.
