After finding Berkeley Heat, we were able to go by the shop just two times to find the design we wanted and installation after that was quick. Raincrow, Bluejay, and their crew are fantastic. It took about 3.5 hours total for the whole setup, and they were courteous and professional the entire time. They made sure to touch up any scuffs on the metal during installation and just made the whole setup look beautiful. They also took the time to go over the entire system with us in detail and answer our (many) questions. It was truly an excellent service that I'd recommend for anyone. We bought a corner gas fireplace plus installation from these guys in 2013 and all went well and smooth. Recently we went back to purchase and install a second unit in a second property but we fell into so issues with the contractor who we found out wasn't licensed so we paused the project and even went in a different direction with the design. We spoke with a salesperson to return the unit because one it was way too big for the space and second was not able to be installed due to city inspectors not allowing it. Tubmakers took back the unit, mind you, it was still in its shipping materials unopened and they will not refund my money. they want to give me store credit for $3,500. There is no return policy written on the order form, receipt or website. I have been calling for the past 6 months to get in touch with the owner named Dan Waitz I believe and still no solution. I am now looking to take them to small claims. read more

I recently purchased the Caldera Kauai spa - and that has turned out to be the best thing I've ever bought for myself. Just an amazing spa in every way, from the appearance and fabulous jets to the easy maintenance with the Freshwater salt system that may be a Caldera exclusive - not sure. The showroom experience was quite good. Nic was helpful, informative, and they had a "sister tub" that I could actually experience and that sealed the deal. A little weird to hot tub in a showroom with people around, but whatever. It was a HUGE decision. The most outstanding part of the experience came after the delivery. Their set-up person, Cesar, who installed my cover lifter and installed and set up the salt system was absolutely amazing. Warm, friendly, helpful - took his time and left me with confidence that I could maintain my fabulous new spa with relative ease. I had a centrally located, brick, 2-sided fireplace that I wanted to replace with a gas unit. This project was a big one, and required a large demo, running gas and electric lines, framing a new footprint, yet retrofitting the hearth to the existing size. I also installed and replaced 10 new ceiling lights and had a lot ceiling patching done. Lots of moving parts. Raincrow Aum, Bluejay Feldman and their very efficient and experienced team worked with me with all of these details. Their attention to detail in all respects made for a beautiful installation. They were respectful with daily cleanup, which made living in the house during the remodel, much more pleasant. I could not be happier with my choice of contractors with this project. Overall everything turned out great. Dan was very helpful and has continued to answer every one of my MANY questions being a first time spa owner. He even talked me into a spa costing less than what I inquired about as he felt it was a better match for my needs. I got the Caldera Tarino running on 120v and it is fantastic. I didnt believe for a second that my electricity bill would only be $25 more a month. It is set at 104 and left there all month. I have used the spa almost every single night since i got it. Certainly if you plan on having bunch of people in the spa for longer than 30 minutes, 220v is the way to go. The spa goes from 104 to 102 in about 25-30 minutes depending on ambient and jet usage. But for my wife and I it is really perfect. The only sort of negative thing I can say about my experience with Berkeley heat was the quote was quite a bit higher than 2 other quotes I got. But they had no issues matching that price. Just do your research before buying anything these days. I don't think they were trying to rip me off as much as the spa was new to the market and they had given me a price based on a comparable spa from Bullfrog. But I do wonder if I would have ended up paying the extra $1200 without any mention of the price inaccuracy. :) All in all a great experience though. read more

This is our third hot tub purchase over 35 years so we're familiar with the process. Our last tub died after 14 years and we were anxious to get a new one quickly and ready to purchase when we found the right tub and dealer. We researched, found several tubs and put money down on one. BUT, they were unwilling, unable (due to corporate speak) to deliver in a timely manner and didn't really care about the sale. Then we returned to the place of our very first hot tub purchase (Tubmakers). Nic was delightful as a salesperson, caring, not pushy but informative and willing to make things happen. From purchase to delivery and install to ordering and delivering a few extra parts he and his crew (both Ceasars) were outstanding. I am confident that we made the right choice and as a long time tub owner I know that problems will occur and you are only as good as the people you rely on to back the tub up. The staff at Berkeley Heat are very knowledgeable! The purchasing process was professional, easy and efficient. They recommended Raincrow for the installation. I used my contractor for the demolition and framing and hired a tile professional to do the finishing tile work. Two months ahead of the agreed upon dates for the fireplace demo, installation and tile work, we met with Raincrow and agreed to a schedule -- two months out to accommodate their very busy schedules. A few days before the installation work was to be done we had a difficult time getting a response from Raincrow -- we called and texted multiple times. Finally, I contacted Berkeley Heat and they immediately reached out to him -- and I got a return call. Unfortunately the agreed upon date was not honored by Raincrow. This put my contractor and the tile installer in a bind with their schedules. My contractor moved mountains to revise his schedule. Unfortunately the tile installer wasn't able to make the accommodation but offered to work over the weekend a month from the originally scheduled date. While I am pleased with the installation work by Raincrow, who is very skilled, I am not pleased with the lack of honoring that agreed upon date which put the other professions in a bind. His communication was lacking and the lack of honoring the timeline means I'll be living in a construction zone for an extra month. read more

We contacted Berkeley Heat to install a gas fireplace. Our existing fireplace was too small so they recommended a log set, something we never heard about before. Both the folks at Berkeley Heat and their fireplace installer were very professional, super supportive and responsive. They were flexible when we had some problems with the plumber we hired to run the gas line, and kept the unit at their store for as long as we needed. We love our fireplace! We went during one of their sales events and purchased a wonderful gas fireplace insert to convert our wood burning one. Niccolo (Nick) was our wonderful sales manager and even had the visiting Regency rep get involved with all the option choices. They walked us through the selections and were incredibly helpful. The tough part was getting it installed as it involved a long gas line and new electrical line, but Berkeley Heat recommended their top guy Moises. Moises was amazing, creative and talented. Took three days of work and the install team took on these challenges, custom cut the frame to fit inside the opening, painted everything, made NO messes for us to clean up, made it look so professional and were outstanding. I highly recommend this outlet (friendly, informative folks who you would like to do business with) and, very importantly, an installation that is totally professional and unique. Go for it!
