Website info on shipping is NOT correct.

I started to order my hot tub cover in December 2022. But after talking to the agent, there was no way to control the delivery date (4-6 weeks) and since I had a vacation during the holiday around week #5, I waited to order when I got back from my trip. At that time, I was told to expect 4-6 weeks for delivery. Web site also says this too (see photo.) The actual delivery time appears to be 8+ weeks. No one notified me of delays. In checking the status, it is "processing" - indicates that order cannot be changed as it is already done but no info on shipping status. I called and they said it would be shipped Feb 15 and shipping can take 10 days, so end of February. I probably would have ordered from a different website had I known it would take the entire winter to get delivered. Or I would have ordered in December and would not have been worrying about delivery occuring in 4-5 weeks. I cannot comment on the actual quality of the product since it will not be arriving for several more weeks.

They should really tell you that this will happen without all the insulating upgrades from the basic cover. No one mentioned it when I called about colder climates. Very frustrating.

If you want a REALLY nice hot tub, this is the place to go. Keep in mind that it will also be REALLY expensive, but in my opinion it is so worth it. We sunk our yellow cedar round hot tub into a floating deck and it looks fantastic. You should also splurge for the matching wood cover because it will add just that much more class. Also, it smells so good while you are in it! Simply the best and most relaxing thing I have done for my yard. In terms of building and setting it up, that is the hard part. I would suggest you have them build the equipment for you and also have a handyman or contractor build the tub. It is not an easy thing. For great customer service, talk to Benny. He is seriously the best! He helped us figure out the best tub for our budget and desires, and doesn't mind that we keep calling and emailing him about fixing leaks (these go away when the wood swells), setting up the tub temp and timer, and how to treat the water. Hot tubs are no joke but they are so worth it.

My OFURO, square Japanese tub, is fantastic. It was expensive, and challenging to install, but in the end fantastic. They are a bit disorganized, but the product is excellent. They are one of the few USA manufacturers of these old school wooden tubs. A true artisan small business.

Over the moon service!…read more We recently purchased and installed a gas fireplace insert through Berkeley Heat, and it was a smooth, flawless transaction from start to finish. The very first day we walked into their showroom close to closing time, Nick went above and beyond by staying late to walk us through the different models. He was incredibly patient and worked diligently to keep everything within our budget. The installer, Moises, and his team were absolutely amazing. They were highly professional, and the finished fireplace looks incredibly sleek! What truly blew us away, though, was their integrity. After the initial installation, Moises didn't feel 100% satisfied with how one element sat. Instead of just leaving it, he took the initiative to come back out and spend another four hours correcting it to perfection. That tells you exactly what kind of team you are dealing with here. If something isn't completely right, they have the conscience and professionalism to come back and make it perfect. They won't just leave you high and dry to rush off to the next job. I would highly recommend Berkeley Heat to anyone. Great prices, a quality product, and unmatched customer service!

Longer version: I actually started out working with another store (Penguin in San Jose) who did a truly spectacular job replacing an old wood burning fireplace with a Mendota gas insert, in another house. The other store was willing to give me a bid for our house in SF. Due to the existing natural stone opening being small vertically, they would only propose installing a Regency Gi25LE which is a beautiful insert but also super tiny. To get an idea what it looked like, I visited Berkeley Heat in person, and to my surprise they told me they could install the significantly larger Gi29LE by having their installer cut open the existing natural stone surround and modifying the existing zero clearance firebox. There was some back and forth with their installer; I also wanted to do this with permit and decided to have my own electrician do the electrical, and my own plumber install the gas line with a permit. (Their installer was not familiar with permitting in SF.) It took a couple months all told - and I had to do the follow-ups by phone to ensure we stayed on schedule - but the final result is fantastic. See photos I am adding.

They are poor business people who I do not trust. I was treated rudely by both. I could have had their tub almost immediately but I figured if they will treat me poorly on about a $6000 purchase (they were less than Jacuzzi), what will happen after they have my money & I have a problem? Jacuzzi of course is the name brand. I can trust them. I also trust Ed Moore. We were told that due Covid supply chain issues the wait about be 10-12 months. We waited a little longer. Everyone was polite & responsive. Robert, head of the delivery crew was helpful. We bought the J-315 which is a smaller unit. That is all of the space we had. The purchase was for relaxing sore muscles & not for parties. It was $9000+ when I ordered & $13,000+ today. The manual explains a lot but doesn't explain everything. That is where ED MOORE comes in. I visited him a few times & was a question box. Everything is functioning properly. The jets hit the areas I want them to hit. I know at motels I have found some hot tubs only focus on the lower & mid back & not the shoulders.

Odd/hostile experience working with Dakota and Andrew at Sullivan…read more There was minor damage to the cover of our hot tub on a service call and instead of accountability, Dakota blamed the age of the cover. It was a strange mix of defensiveness and blame on the call itself. We had an issue with the tub draining after a power outage and Sullivan saying that was impossible unless there is a leak or crack. Ok, well if it is a leak and crack then possibly inspect those areas as a service/repair service? I'm not an expert in hot tubs. We purchased a house that had a new hot tub installed, and the continued response of the hot tub being old for the reason why the damage occurred is weird. The middle part of the cover was also ripped apart from the seams and there was minimal accountability there as well. The new Operations Manager had a weird, defensive response as pictured below. You can be the judge if this is an off response to damages in an inspection and repair. The hot tub after servicing is also still leaking. We needed to hire another local servicer to do this repair work who properly described what might be the issue BEFORE coming out to work on the hot tub.
