Absolutely awful. The manager Matt is INCREDIBLY rude and honestly fucking weird. Ive heard a lot about him in the past but tonight topped it off. Was so incredibly rude and yelled at me and friends over a movie. Genuinely never that deep bro yea wtv we snuck in BUT WE PAID FOR A MOVIE and his rudeness was so uncalled for. Literally could have said hey sorry you cant be in this theater can you please go to the one your assigned? But no he yelled at us to get up and kicked us out and we didnt even say anything to him. I am confused by the overall 3 star rating. Maybe "city folk" moving to the area have a desire for a more luxurious experience. Is it perfect, no. Is it nice, affordable, and clean, with comfortable seats, yes. My personal experience has been nothing short of excellent from the staffing to the atmosphere. read more

While the prices are great and the young staff is awesome, the manager is something else to be desired! His treatment of staff (most are under 18 and in high school) is appalling and uncalled for. Not the cleanest theater but great value. One senior 2 kids $20. Snacks and drinks also $20. Not a bad way to entertain the grandkids for a Saturday. Service was vary good mostly High School kids extremely polite and friendly. read more

The seats are really nice as well as the prices. I just think that they can most definitely clean in between movies and take out the trash before it gets full. It was so dirty and there was trash everywhere and you couldn't even throw it in the trash can. Also didn't agree with closing concessions not even five minutes after the last movie started. Like at least leave it open for a little so we can get refills. Also have a menu for what you offer with prices because there was nothing other than prices for candy. I used to work there, the management is terrible and rude. while we do make sure the popcorn is fresh, the pickles have been there a while. the food itself is also fresh as we go through alot of it. the problem i have is with the pests. I had noticed at my time there that the candy would have chew marks and be spilled in the cabinets, i brought it up to management and they did nothing but make excuses. The ant problem is really that whole common area problem. If one of those buildings got ants then the rest of got them. There is little I can say about that place I enjoyed, from management gossiping and always having people in the office and being unprofessional to the coworkers who were treated like crap... they also didnt let us use our phones so we would have to just stand there between movies and do nothing. it was also freezing cold the whole time. read more

Have gone here several times, and LOVE IT! Yes, it isn't as fancy or large as big chain theatres, it isn't one with a little bar where you can order as much food as at your local Chilis, but it is AWESOME. The place has sort of that charm of being a community place, tucked away where tourists would never find it. There were smaller, locally-owned theatres I used to go to as a kid-- this place reminds me off all of them. Seats are really comfortable, with a slight stadium-style going on so those up by the screen are a bit lower on incline than those in the back of the room. Popcorn is always good. Prices are fantastic- we got 2 adult tickets, 2 of the specialty extra-large drinks (they had cool cups/lids for a movie that was out), and a large popcorn to share, all for less than 20$. When was the last time you even got two movie tickets, for 2 adults, to a MCU movie for less than 20 dollars? The staff are incredibly friendly. Even one night when I went, and found that there had been an issue with the movie I was coming in to see (I don't recall what the problem was- maybe a shortage due to the huge storm that had just gone through the area), the staff were very friendly and nice, and the girl in the ticket window was very sweet as she kept trying to apologize as if it were her fault. There wasn't anything else I wanted to see that night, so I just grabbed some popcorn and a drink, took them home, and watched a movie. These are the things you expect when you go to smaller venues, sometimes there are weather related issues, equipment failure, etc., it isn't a big deal. :) The decor inside is a movie-geek's dream. Little tin posters of cool characters and movie-themed items (popcorn, marquees, coke), coca-cola stuff, posters for old and new classics like WIZARD OF OZ and MATRIX, with a little bar in the back where you can get some drinks and food, as well as the one up front by the door. Honestly, the only thing I could see people having an issue with is that the parking lot is a little dark, with the lines all faded off and potholes the size of kiddie pools, so you have to be careful when driving there-- but there is enough glow coming from the theatre for you to see your car and feel safe walking to it. I went with a friend last night to see Beauty and the Beast. The movie theater itself is okay. It was remodeled a few years ago and now has upgraded seats and newly-added cup holders. They don't play your "usual" previews before the movie and instead display local advertisements for lawn care, medical offices, etc. I didn't mind it, but it seemed like overkill when I noticed the same advertisements repeated. The girl at the concession stand seemed bored and was very unfriendly. The popcorn she gave us was barely warm. I didn't go back out and complain because that's not in my character but it was a little disappointing. On a good note, the prices are very reasonable but they only accept cash. read more

DISGUSTING! I took my kids to a 7pm showing of Zzotopia and the theater was filthy. Popcorn, popcorn bags, nachos, candy and anything else you can think of was on the floor. Our shoes were literally sticking to the floor. It smelled like vomit. I spoke to the young lady at the ticket counter and he response was "we dont clean between movies" I then asked if was expected to have my kids sit in the funk to which she replied " what do you want me to do" I then found the manager in his office and voiced my concerns again. He reply, "that's why the price is o ly $7, if I have to hire people to clean between shows then I have to raise the price". I nodded and watched my last movie in this theater. Many others in the theater expressed their disgust of the conditions and had it not been for my wife pleading to let the girls enjoy the movie I would have left. Oh and they even have a sign that says they wont give a refund, even if there is a difficulty with the movie they can't fix. Avoid this place. Pay the extra couple bucks and go to the Regal by the mall or drive to winchester. Forget these clowns. read more

Very cheap! The tickets and the concession are very reasonable. I only come here during the day though because the evenings are packed with disrespectful teens and young adults being loud and on their phones and it just becomes not enjoyable. The chairs are not very comfy but you can't beat the prices and the staff is great as well. Oh--- Movies tend to not start on time for whatever reason here also. Growing up in Martinsburg nearly all my life, I have many positive memories of going to the movies at the Berkeley Plaza Theatre. Their prices for tickets and popcorn/beverages are very reasonable. They also show free movies during the summer and Christmas season. I always try to support our locally owned theater. read more

Being a shorter person i find it hard to see over some people. Horrible horrible horrible movie theater! 1st off its 2019 and they dont accept cards.... a cheap tablet and square is easy to set up. Next the kids running the food stands have no clue what they are doing... I went here to see IT, they had souvenir cups, I know from other movies that these cups come with a hard plastic lid and something to go on top of it. In this case it was a Pennywise bobble head. The cup was handed to me with a regular plastic lid. After she moved on to the next customer I asked about it and she responded "oh yea, here" then told me there are no lids to go with it, even though the bobble head has a groove to fit in the lid. The screens in the theater are tiny, the seats are the most uncomfortable I have ever sat in and the theater is filthy. They dont clean in between movies resulting in popcorn everywhere and sticky floors. The worst part is all of Martinsburg high school must have been here. Nothing but teenagers being loud, talking all movie, arriving late and constantly taking out there phones..Do yourself a favor and drive to Alamo in Winchester... it's the same price but cleaner, not loud and comfortable. read more

First off, the lobby looks like a half-ass bathroom remodel from 2000, lol. For $7 a ticket.. I'd rather spend an extra $0.50 at Alamo with my student discount just to be in a more modern and clean environment. Every bum and their kid shows up here and the staff doesn't appear to clean up the theater between shows. No one even wanted to sit in the back seats because there was just popcorn and trash left all over the place. Through a good chunk of the movie an employee just stood in the doorway watching and the light coming from the door was blinding the people in the back who were glaring over at the employee constantly. Also, don't wear heels coming here because their parking lot is sooo torn up, I thought I was gonna fall and bust my a**. It would also be nice if they could manage to squeeze in some bench seating in the lobby or outside. read more

I went to see a matinee show of Office Christmas Party here today and was pleasantly surprised. Tickets were $5 per person and I'll admit, walking in, I wasn't expecting much because the shopping center itself is kind of run down, but the employees at the ticket counter and concessions were very friendly. And even though the theater itself looks outdated, everything was clean (restroom, hallways, theater itself). They also have a few vending machines if you'd rather grab snacks or drinks from there. The seats in the theaters are not stadium seating, but they were clean, comfy and in good condition. I'd definitely go back! read more

It is a very nice, family run movie. The keep it very clean but it's tough keeping up with all the trash thrown on the floor right after each movie. Restrooms are always clean and well attended to. Snack bar has fresh popcorn and the hot-dogs are pretty good, except wish they would get onion packs like the relish, mustard, ketchup. But the price is good so not to worry. The lobby itself is bright, has two snack bars and open the second when crowd is heavy. It is nicely done and always clean. Staff are great to get along with and helpful. Overall, to us, it is a nice experience, but we just want to see a movie and not critique it like it was Trump's Palace. read more

The theater was incredibly hot tonight. Asked the manager if A/C was broken and he went ballistic on me. He called me a smart ass and was disrespectful. He was clearly agitated but when I asked if he had many complaints he said only 2. So I'm not sure why he was so upset. He asked what I wanted him to do and I said just admit there is a problem, or maybe offer a glass of water. So he made a coworker go get me a bottle of water which I declined. I only wanted a cup and he said oh no that wont be good enough for you. You want something for free. Let me be clear, at no point did I even ask for a refund on my ticket. I never asked for anything except an acknowledgement that clearly there is an Air conditioning problem. When I went back in theater and told my husband that the manager called me an ass he decided to confront him. On his way into the office the manager my jumped around the desk and started bouncing him away with his belly and chest. My husband never touched him but he told the police that he laid his hands on him. The only question my husband asked him was why did he disrespect his wife. He asked the coworker to call 911 and had the police come. He made my husband leave the theater and threatened him with trespassing. All because I asked if the A/C was broken. Clearly this manager has no business working in a field with people. I'm afraid he is a loose cannon ready to explode for any reason. Please save your money and stream movies at home!!! read more

It had been years since I was at these theaters, and was a bit wary going back because the last time I was there, the screens were not clear, the sound was not good, and the place just had a dingy feel to it. I can say I was very pleasantly surprised. You can tell the owners have put money back into the place. The seats are incredibly comfortable, and the screens are bright and clear. The sound has also been drastically improved. I can say, in Martinsburg, this is the place you should be seeing movies. Price wise, it is by far the best entertainment value in town, and the staff is friendly and attentive. read more
