We went with the bottomless mimosa option. They offer 4 different flavors: OJ, raspberry, peach, and Tiffany (for it's color). We enjoyed the peach one the most. Our server made sure we had refills on both water and mimosas at all times. We started off strong with the Pajun Pancake. A good ratio of shrimp, bacon, and veggies. The sauce it was paired with was the wow factor and we even asked for more. The bulgogi on both the bulgogi bowl and bulgogi scramble was tender and had a tasty marinade. I would had wished the bulgogi scramble didn't have as much red onion. I was surprised with the sweet potato tots option and that didn't disappoint. The spicy pork sandwich was elevated and balanced out with the kimchi slaw and cucumber combo. We finished with the Crunch French toast and it was perfection! Fluffy inside but a crunchy outside. Visited on a Saturday between 1:00 and 2:00 PM I've been to this restaurant before and decided to come back after a few years. The hostess was welcoming, and the staff who brought out our food were friendly. Unfortunately, our server provided a very different experience. When we asked for appetizer recommendations, he simply repeated the menu items without offering any suggestions. Throughout the meal, he never checked on our table, even though we noticed him checking on the surrounding tables several times. At one point, the patio umbrella unexpectedly fell near our table. Instead of first asking if everyone was okay, his only response was, "Do you mind if I close the umbrella?" That was disappointing and made us feel overlooked. The only time his attitude became noticeably friendlier was when he brought the check. We happened to be the only Asian table that afternoon. While I can't say for certain why our experience felt different, the contrast in service left us feeling unwelcome. I hope every customer receives the same level of care and attention. read more

Berkeley Social Club, finally made it after hearing about the Millionaire's Bacon for what feels like years. Worth the hype, no question. Thick cut, candied with the brown sugar and chili, hits sweet then heat right after, had to order a second side for the table cuz one wasnt gonna cut it. Got the bulgogi scramble too, the marinated ribeye in there has this sweetness that plays well against the egg, potatoes on the side were seasoned proper not just an afterthought. Place is loud, like really loud, no carpet no dampening so by the time you leave your basically yelling at your own table. Worth it tho honestly, gives it this fun chaotic energy. Service kept moving the whole time, water got refilled without me even asking which never happens anymore. Patio in the back is a nice touch if you can snag it, a little calmer back there. Sign in on a tablet for the wait, we got lucky with timing but ive heard horror stories on weekends so get there early if you can. 5 stars, korean western mashup that actually works and isnt just a gimmick. I came here for a brunch date on a saturday, and I totally understand it being busy given the time we came, but it was extraordinarily loud in the restaurant; I had to shout to the person sitting across from me to speak. I noticed it's a spot where groups like to come & dine, it's not the place if you're trying to eat a nice meal. The food itself was below average. The BSC Scramble could have used more egg, the potatoes weren't seasoned. The french toast also lacked flavor, I added some jam to help lift the flavor of the dish. The Korean KFC was the worst dish, and we regret ordering it. The chicken itself was dry, stringy, and unseasoned. My GF and I stopped in unexpected as we were meeting friends at a nearby hookah lounge. I wanted to try something new in an area I don't come to often that was close to our destination. I have been a huge fan of fresh handmade lemonade lately and it did not disappoint. Fresh, tart and sweet. A little too tart for my GF's taste, but I enjoyed it quite a bit. Appetizers were the Millionaire's Bacon and Cheesy Gyoza. The bacon was soooo good. 2 perfectly cooked pieces of thick cut bacon with its sweet, sticky coating that was well balanced and not too sweet. Cheese and Gyoza with bell pepper is a combination I didn't know I needed. It was a pairing that was full of flavor and left us saying "OMG, WHAT THE". Great start for the meal. The Club Moco was calling my name, and I'm glad I answered back. Every element of the dish was cooked perfectly. The gravy was full of flavor and made the dish. Everything together was so complimentary and made every bite so enjoyable. My GF ordered the G.I. Fried Rice. The table side presentation was really cool as it came plated on a cast iron plate and the egg that's usually scrambled and mixed in the rice, was poured around the plated rice allowing you to scramble and mix however you like. I only had a couple bites and can say that I would be happy to order that dish as my main course next time. The mix of the rice, more candied bacon, spam and kimchi was full of flavor. I have never heard of this restaurant and am thankful to Yelp for helping me to look up places so easily where I was visiting. Parking is a little tricky but we were able to find a spot right away! We went on a Sunday so it was really busy around 12-1pm. We put ourselves on the waitlist and the wait was about 30-40mins. I've gotten the Ube latte, and it was pretty yummy but I could barely taste the ube. We waited about 25mins for our food to come out but it was fresh and hot when we've gotten it. It was super yummy! I liked my scrambled bulgogi. It came with potatoes and a slice of toast. Overall I finished my plate! I've been to BSC a couple of times during undergrad, but this was my first visit in a while after coming back to Berkeley! Before going, I would definitely recommend making a reservation in advance. There's usually a line (especially on weekends for brunch or in the evenings), but thankfully I was seated quickly while my friend looked for parking nearby. Now, this isn't the restaurant's fault, but it was LOUD. We happened to be seated next to two very social groups, so it was a bit difficult to hear anything. Which duh, we're in a social club! But I was practically yelling just to talk to my friend lol. Depending on your tolerance, you might want to ask to be seated on the patio, since it can get pretty rowdy inside. As for the food, it was fine. I had been craving BSC's Mascarpone Blueberry Stuffed Crunch French Toast after years of deprivation, while my friend ordered a burger with a side of fries. I'm not sure what changed (or maybe it's just me), but the French toast was much greasier than I remembered (with even less fruit!) Every bite felt pretty heavy, and while I was excited to eat it, I only managed to finish half before tapping out. My friend, on the other hand, finished her plate so maybe a burger was the way to go. I did manage to steal a fry though, which was amazing, so I'd highly recommend that. But I probably wouldn't order the French toast again. All in all, the service was great! The ambiance was a bit loud, and the food was okay. BSC is definitely a must-try brunch spot if you're in Berkeley, but if I go again, I'd probably opt for a different dish from their expansive menu. read more

I ordered the BLT Millionaire's which was quite literally the best sandwich I've ever had. I dream about this sandwich. Everything was perfect, down to the runny egg yolk and juicy bacon. It was absolutely perfect and 100% worth it, if this sandwich interests you please order it you will be happy with your choice. My boyfriend got the KFC waffles. He said the waffle was okay and kinda bland, either that or had no flavor or was dry I forget. But he noted that the chicken was good and made up for the waffle. Personally didn't love the Millionaire's Bacon, but it's popular here. BSC beer flight ($12) - came with 4 choices of beer. My partner drank one and noticed there were slimy sediments in it. Our hotel was within walking distance of the restaurant but definitely plan ahead if driving because parking is limited near the restaurant. Inside is decorated well and makes for a cute brunch spot. I bet this spot is really fun in the evening, too. My coconut cream latte was SO good. Highly recommend, if you like coconut, of course. There were flakes on top. I had to try the Pajun Pancake, because I had never heard of it before, and didn't know where else I'd try it. It was tasty! Just huge! Definitely could be shared with someone. (Assuming you also get an app before the entree). By the end of my meal, I was picking through it, leaving the pancake, and eating the shrimp, bacon, kimchi, etc. out of it. My coworker got the BSC burger. He liked it! We both enjoyed the place enough that we said, "We'd come back if/when we're in town." But both agreed that it was 4 stars. Service was excellent and attentive. Love the decor and the cozy vibes in here. My very favorite (even with years later) is the Waffle + KFC. Soooo dang good!! I mean, I just want more! Came here a few times before, but this is my first time reviewing Berkeley Social Club. My friends and I came here on a Sunday during brunch hours and we were simple and ordered the "two eggs any style" - and I got mines scrambled. I also ordered some green tea as well and they refilled the hot water which was nice. Food came out pretty quickly. The food was fine, a little bit on the smaller portion though. The restaurant was lively and full. The other times I've been here, I got their Waffle & KFC, Pimp Up Ramyun, and one of their other brunch dishes. I remember them being pretty good! I remember I also had their mimosas too and it was good and strong! There are tons of seatings indoors and outdoors. Highly recommend to make reservations cause has been crowded every time I've been here. I would come back here again. I introduced a friend to this place a few weeks ago, and recently she called me craving it and asked for the name again. That alone says a lot. She drove an hour just to come back, and honestly, I get it. Here's what we ordered: Lemon Ricotta Pancakes w/ Berry Topping - 1/10 Sadly, the only miss of the meal. The pancakes lacked both lemon brightness and ricotta richness, resulting in a pretty bland bite. This dish needs a serious flavor boost. Bulgogi Omelette w/ Sweet Potato Tots - 8/10 Packed with flavor and well-balanced. The bulgogi, carrots, green onion, and red onion came together beautifully. This is the dish my friend drove an hour for--and it delivered. Egg Whites, Yukon Potatoes & Sourdough Toast - 8/10 Simple, clean, and satisfying. Nothing over the top, but executed well and consistently tasty. Fresh Fruit - 8/10 Actually fresh (which deserves recognition). Millionaire's Bacon - 10/10 The star of the show and the reason I keep coming back. Flavorful, zesty, and perfectly cooked. It used to have a stronger spicy kick, so I'd love to see two versions offered--one classic and one extra spicy. Freshly Squeezed Orange Juice - 10/10 A true luxury and rare find these days. Extra points for being a hangover hero. Yuja Citrus Toddy - 7/10 A comforting hot toddy with a sweet citrus twist. Pleasant, warming, and nicely balanced. The plating and presentation are consistently top-tier, and service is quick and efficient. I've never had a bad experience here. One tip: be very clear and speak slowly when ordering, as there can occasionally be a language barrier depending on your server. I asked for scrambled eggs light and received egg whites instead--no harm done, and I took it as a sign to eat cleaner that day. Overall, Berkeley Social Club remains a strong brunch staple. Really great spot! Love the Ube lattes the most and the soft tofu soup -- it was plated very beautifully. The prices can be a bit steep and I am a bigger fan of the evening menu. For breakfast, I got the eggs two style and got a little bit of the stomach ache from getting the eggs over easy. The potatoes are really great tho. The soup combo is really great though. Plated pretty, good portions albeit a bit expensive. Service is nice albeit slow due to how busy it gets, it's very very dog friendly in the back patio area. You may have to park elsewhere snd walk a few minutes. Otherwise great service! Called and made a reservation a week before and the staff were very welcoming and friendly about reservation adjustments. Fast service too, most food came out within 15 minutes and drinks within 10 minutes! Came with a small group of 5 and we all had our fair share of the appies! From the App Sampler to the Bulgogi Nachos, lots of good food to go around! I especially liked the fried chicken and fried oysters :) to top it off. I tried the Buddha Bless You and was pleasantly surprised by the fragrance (IN A GOOD WAY). I was craving some pork belly and was happy to try the belly pot after some debating. The pork belly was good, i wish there was a little more rice but glad there was plenty of meat :). Overall, it's a nice place to drop by if you're in the area! We made reservations a few days in advance and had to change last min, they had plenty of open spots for reservations. The vibe is very Berkeley. Cool, non pretentious and just chill. We were seated promptly and our server approaching us within minutes with water. When you're dining with kids, these things matter. Here're the dishes we order and their review: Mimosa- 10/10 obvs KFC & rice for the kids - 10/10 the chicken was nice, crispy and flavorful and they devoured it Millionaire's bacon - 10/10 good portion thick cut 2 slices that's a bit spicy and tangy and sweet Eggs in Purgatory - 9/10 sorta tastes like French onion soup with lots of onions, it's tangy, has bacon. It comes with 1 piece of bread. That's the only -1 point here. There's so much sauce and 1 piece of bread just doesn't cut it. KFC Benedict - 9/10 chicken is great, flavors are great. Luckily we booked a reservation in advance through Yelp (super easy!). Our mimosas were served first, and would be immediately filled! Even when we haven't finished one glass, our server would fill it up quick! It was a fun experience. ($24 per person) As for the food, we ordered four separate dishes. I decided to try something new that I've never had before: garden tofu scramble. It is a vegan option! The lychee delight cocktail was refreshing and had a light sweetness to it. The gooey corn had a beautiful cheese pull and came with colorful prawn crackers. The ramyun was well balanced in flavor. I really liked the millionaires bacon on it. It had a sweet savory and a lil crispy. Also the plating was pretty interesting. The service was decent, the staff often came by to refill water.
