I asked them to turn it down. The music was still too loud. The service was stiff...not friendly. The sticky rice was like a hard rock, inedible. The food was unevenly spiced, which made it hard to share. Yelp reviews have become difficult to trust. I would strongly advise that if the restaurant is empty, LEAVE. Order a few dishes. I came here for the big freshwater prawn noodle dish and left incredibly disappointed. Not only was the dish too salty overall, but there was also a piece of plastic in the noodle dish that I discovered. And the freshwater prawns were mushy and not fresh at all. Was in the North Berkeley area and was looking up places to eat for dinner. It was a Saturday night and some places close fairly early and others have wait lists, on Yelp there was availability so we walked over from where we were at and they were able to seat our party of 2 and we didn't have to sign up. This food was so delicious that it made feel like I was in Thailand. Their plates do have many spices so if you're intolerant to that do beware. Service was quick and easy. The mango isn't good The restaurant sliced it all the way to the seed so I don't like to it that. It's very cheap. Your money isn't worth to pay that kind of mango because it hurts your throat and I easily get sore throat. Stop being stingy with mangoes. I always buy mangoes all the time. So I took my cousin for her birthday. We were seated quickly on a Sunday evening. The restaurant decor is so pretty. Great date night spot or for any celebration. i love love thai table. this is honestly one of my favorite spots and i wish it were closer to me. it was my first meal moving to berkeley, and one of my last when i came back up for my graduation ceremony. the pad thai is one of my favorites. my family loves the crab fried rice. they don't skimp on the crab and of course it being real crab makes all the difference. we tried the tom yum too this time and despite my dad being super picky with food and usually just finding food 'okay', he LOVED the tom yum soup and was surprised at how flavorful and great tasting it was. i also loved it so much, best i've had. the service was just on par and the environment is great. i love the decor and is my biggest heartbreak moving home. read more

A local recommended this place, so I came in expecting something decent. What I got instead was a masterclass in disappointment. Let's start with the drinks--because I wish I hadn't. My blood orange white wine spritzer was so bad I couldn't make it past the second sip. I genuinely don't know how you ruin something that simple, but they found a way. My friend ordered a pineapple margarita and couldn't drink his either--and I have never seen this man not finish a drink before. That alone should tell you everything. The food? Somehow just as disappointing. The pad kee mao was shockingly flavorless, to the point where I kept taking bites just to confirm it was really that bad (it was). I've never been here. We came to do a little food tasting possibly use them for catering for an event. So the moment you get there you join a waitlist to be seated. The restaurant was busy but we didn't have to wait for too long. We waited maybe 8-10 minutes and we were seated. The restaurant is not that big but maybe they have an area for big parties? I'm not sure. However, the ambiance is cute, cozy, and inviting. I love the accent wall, it's picture worthy. Now, let's talk about the food. We didn't just order one or two appetizers we ordered four and I highly recommend them: crispy shrimp roll, spicy chicken wings, crispy tofu over peanut sauce, and Roti bread (which I can eat all day). Everything tasted so fresh and like off the stove. We also order a few dishes: Nam Khao lettuce wrap, crab fried rice, pumpkin curry with chicken and Pad Thai of course. I don't know if I was hungry or what but everything was delicious. I never had Nam Khao which is a crispy rice with Chinese sausage and crispy pork. I loved it! It is like an explosion ingredients in my mouth so tasty. The price: I was surprised we ordered so much food and we spent less than $200. We even had cocktail drinks and dessert. I stumbled on this place one night as I was walking down the street to try a neighboring restaurant. It was packed inside and out and so I checked it out on yelp and it looks like it had something to it. Got a couple friends together finally tried it out last night. Super excited. The menu is amazing. They have so many different options. I was ready to dig in. I couldn't wait to try the giant prawns more than anything. Decor reminds me a bit of farmhouse kitchen Thai and Thai daughter. We ordered pad Thai with a giant head prawns, mushroom dumplings, eggplant, side of rice, and their peanut salad with lime. The food was OK. It had decent flavors and it's always fun to try a new Thai places because they're always different. The thing that stood out to me first of all was that there was gold silverware on the table no chopsticks and they didn't offer you chopsticks. There was absolutely no heat in any of the food whatsoever. Not gonna lie these two things are not very Thai. Maybe this was the most Caucasian Thai restaurant I've ever been to. The service was average. I think that I was somehow set up to believe that it was gonna be a lot better than it was. Thai Table is my go to thai restaurants in Berkeley. Save your searching and come here. I can only attest to the delivery, but since the food is solid, I can only imagine how it would only be improved by coming out to the table right from the kitchen. It's a small shop, plenty of fun lights and bright colors. Parking is street parking but there are lots of side streets to park on if you don't want to park right on University. The workers there are always friendly and helpful no matter how busy they are (and I have come by to pick up on random weekdays, there is a good reason why they are busy then).
