Love love love this place! BMD have some delicious spirits for tasting, cocktails if you decide to stay a while, and bottles to take home. They have a beautiful outdoor area to enjoy in the warmer months, and plenty of seating inside as well. A huge plus for dog lovers-they're dog friendly! I enjoy stopping by here for a drink with my partner and our dog after a hike. We love the liquid gold whiskey the best, but they have something for everyone. This place is amazing and Lucas Duval is the BEST tasting room host ever!! I came in to re-up on my stormy gin, which has been amazing since the "mistake" that led to its creation like 12 years ago, and had to try some of their new offerings. Lucas wrote me not one but TWO cocktail recipes on VIP tour cards to make the stormy gin have even more bang for the buck (See Pic)! They also offered their buttered rye recipe on another visit. Dropped in for a tasting where they give you up to five samples. I did the vodka, gin, and corn whiskey and liked them enough to buy a bottle of each. A great place to drop in and sample..I suggest you take the drinks outside to the tables and have some cleaning bread between samples. I did a baget and cheese and had a great time. read more

Really excited to finally stop in after driving by this location 100x times. Perks of visiting the brick and mortar is there are 2-4 non distributed bourbon or whiskey products only sold on site (e.g. maple bourbon) which I got for $45, same price as some of their retail store items. Had a great experience here! We did two flights (which were free...what!?!?) one of gin and one of whiskey; both were excellent. We also tried bourbon which was unfortunately sold out but also delicious. Super cute place with plenty of outdoor seating and a great view of the distillery from inside the tasting room. We've been customers of this distillery for over a year and have enjoyed their bourbon and rum several times. Last week we again bought the bourbon and rum, but something has changed. The bourbon was thin, not as flavorful and could not withstand an ice cube or two. The rum tasted flat and empty. Someone must have tampered with the recipes or both runs went awry. They need to get back to their knitting fast. read more

I like learning stuff. Learning stuff that I didn't know before (especially about delicious boozes) always makes me happy. And the tour at Berkshire Mountain Distillers went over the process that they use to make their delicious spirits. Some of it I knew, like charring the barrels and what makes bourbon bourbon. But they also have bit about labeling and gin and how they turn Sam Adams beer into whiskey. Cool stuff! The gift shop has all of the Berkshire Mountain Distillers products, plus a bunch of extras. Not the cheapest, but good. It's a fun way to spend an hour or so. read more

Sign said open for tastings yesterday, so naturally had to pull in and check it out. I have had their bourbons before and recently dined at a fine food establishment in Huntington, NY where the only gin in the bar was Berkshire. It made for a herbaceous dry gin martini (three olives please). The sign at the tasting bar said up to 6 samples and unlike New York, they were free of charge. The distiller ws passionate about his craft and explained the differences between his spirits that told a troy of each one's origin. They distill vodka, rum, bourbon and gin and have a number of variations. The ethereal gins were very floral, the cask aged bourbons unique. I left with a 4 pack of pre-made cocktails- gin and tonic, made with their own tonic water which had a light amber hue and was unlike any other tonic I have had before, well nuanced and balancing sweet and bitter perfectly. Informative and fun. We enjoyed the 45 minute tour given by Mike, experienced distiller. It was a treat to see the equipment, look into a vat of mash, learn about the processes and then taste the results. After our tasting (included in the tour fee) we purchased our favorites (Bourbon Madeira and their own maple syrup) and a few BMD t-shirts from the store. read more

Nice selection of gin here. They have a broad selection of herbal ethereal gins with flavors such as hibiscus and lime, chamomile, cardamom, lemongrass. Their strength definitely lies in the barrel aged gins. The ethereal gins are good, but certainly benefit greatly from age in the barrel. They also sell a vodka that's quite drinkable as well as whiskey and bourbon. The whiskey can be fairly pricey ($120) a bottle. Not worth it. But their barrel aged cardamon gin was unique, smooth, and not super overpriced for how excellent it is..at $40. Overall the staff is knowledgeable and friendly. You can try samples of five things and you can get a free tour of the facility. Fun activity ! Excellent products. read more

5 stars for the liquor, 2 stars for the service. I love the Ethereal Gin; I'm not a gin person but this really does it for me. My father and brother also like their whiskey varieties. This distillery is about an hour from our home in eastern NY, and the drive is very pleasant, especially in the fall. I would give BMD five stars, but the last time I was there, the woman working the counter wasn't very helpful. I didn't need her to tell me all about the notes in the different liquors, but if you're going to spend 40-50 dollars for a bottle of booze, you want to taste it, especially from a small distillery. When you crack a bottle of Jameson you know what it will taste like, but with craft distilleries, flavors can change. Something you bought two years ago, might taste different now. Also, I wasn't trying to get drunk on samples. She gave me the impression that she didn't want to bother with us. We ended up buying three bottles, but part of me wanted to leave and not buy anything because she didn't make me feel comfortable and welcome. Salespeople can be annoying sometimes when they try too hard, but it's worse when they give you the impression that pouring you two samples so you can compare the Ethereal and Greylock gins is ruining their day. read more

I have enjoyed their corn whisky for years so when we were in the area we decided to take the tour. It was a weekday and early in the day so we received a private tour from one of the distillers. He answered every question we had and took the time to make sure the full process was reviewed. Their store has the full product line so we bought a couple bottles to take home. This was a small distillery with some local spirits. They had a nice variety of gins, bourbons and whiskeys. The nice thing is you can try up to 5 of them for free. The people are knowledgable in the different spirits. They also have an hour long tour for $10 a person, but we didn't do that. They also have some local candy bars and other things. We ended up leaving with a bottle of Burbon. Stop by if you like spirits. read more

I was familiar with some of their products, but happened to be driving by randomly, and stopped in to check it out. The guy behind the counter was very informative and helpful, and they had a ton of cool products to taste, and for sale as well. I picked up some bourbon smoked maple syrup and bourbon smoked sea salt. If it wasn't so far away, I would be back often, but if I'm in the area again, I will definitely make it a priority to stop in. read more
