Her availability has saved us from unnecessary ER visits many times! She also makes house calls for the first few newborn visits, which is such a gift in those early months of parenthood. They simply don't offer enough spaces when kids are sick like the winter. There clearly seems to be a way around the system to get booked in advance but that hasn't been offered to us. 2) our son had a severe reaction to a bee sting and their response was to schedule an appointment with an allergist for 3 months in advance. When we asked about how do we keep him safe in the meantime we were told to wait until the allergist appointment in 3 months. We asked a friend who is a pediatrician and they wrote us a prescription for an EpiPen on the spot. Why didn't Bayside? If you don't know how to advocate for yourself in the US healthcare system then don't come here. Your kid will get lost in the shuffle and they couldn't care less. I picked this place based on proximity and some decent reviews but I will not be doing that any longer.

He was there at the hospital each morning after my son was born and has been so helpful through our first month of appointments. He will answer every question you have and cut through a lot of the conflicting information online. I am genuinely skeptical of the motivation behind some of the bad reviews- although it can be difficult to get an appointment on short notice. I recommend taking those with a grain of salt. I have suggested Dr. Rush to friends with babies and would trust him unconditionally with my child!
