I LOVE the variety of high-quality menu items here! There was something delicious for the pickiest of our teenage basketball players and their parents! From burgers to salads to poke nachos to beet salad, every single dish was exceptionally plated and prepared. The diner itself was spacious and well accommodated. Had dinner here prior to the free concert in the park with my cousin and some of her friends. This place seems to be relatively busy each time I've been through this area. We ordered drinks and dinner. Our server was friendly and gave honest recommendations based off what each of us were interested in eating. I can't remember what each of the other girls had, but I ordered the Grown-up Grilled Cheese with a side wedge salad. I wouldn't think of a grown up grilled cheese as having short rib in it. I would have figured it would be elevated cheeses, but who am I to say? I sounded good regardless, and it was tasty as well. Elevated food but still a laid back atmosphere that was comfortable. Our server was quick and attentive and helped guide us through the menu. We just wanted a couple appetizers to snack on so we ordered the ahi tuna nachos and pan fried pierogies. They were both delicious. Food was very bad for the price of it honestly could go to 20 other resturaunts with better food and pricing. Service was ok...nothing better than taco Mac. When I go and spend 200$ on lunch I feel like I should get at minimum decent service. Ambiance was ok very small. In all honesty it is a restaurant that overcharges cheap food to keep the lights on. Came here with a 5 top, staff was very accommodating made great recommendations and were very knowledgeable on the menu. The lay out of the building makes it seem smaller on the inside than the outside but it's very modern and one of the nicest establishments in downtown Kennesaw as far as architecture goes. I had a no-jito since its dry January and it was fantastic, dinner was an adult grilled cheese with birria and fries came with consume to dip it in as well. My experience at Bernie's exceeded my expectations! I met a friend for dinner on a Saturday night spontaneously, and we expected the wait to be long so we went early. It was packed because there was a concert in town, but we didn't have to wait long. It's a large restaurant with a lofted area, which is where we were seated. Our waitress rocked! I saw a lot of people with the Ultra Violet cocktail, so I ordered that and it was really nice. My friend and I shared the Birria Short Rib Flatbread and the Shrimp and Scallop Fettuccine, and honestly, both were 10/10. We had a margarita that was totally watered down with club soda. So we decided to try another drink... some vodka cocktail. Again, totally watered down with some soda. Terrible. Bernie's is outstanding! The first time we came, we couldn't make it past the appetizers because so many looked so good. We had the chargrilled oysters, crab fritters and birria flatbread. The second time we came we had the chargrilled oysters (because they're freaking amazing!) and crab fritters to start. For dinner, our group had the Grown Up Grilled Cheese, the Camp McDonald burger (one of the best burgers I've ever tasted), and the French dip. 10/10 recommend ALL of these! You're gonna need to roll me home because I'm so full . But save room for the toffee creme brûlée- you need it! My wife and I tried this restaurant today. It is a great location that is bright and cheerful inside but also offers outdoor tables. At first we sat inside but I asked my wife if she preferred to dine outside. It was a beautiful Spring day so we sat outside. Our waiter was Harrison and he quickly greeted us and provided water to us. He asked about other drink options and asked about appetizers. He said their char-grilled oysters were a good starter. He offered descriptions of some of his favorites on the menu. I ordered the Chicken Schnitzel and my wife ordered the Corned Beef Reuben. We were able to dine today at Bernie's for lunch immediately after church with no reservation. We called ahead and they had no wait, which was awesome. Parking is ample and free in the street. This was our first time to downtown Kennesaw, and it is very quaint. It reminds me for downtown Roswell and downtown Alpharetta. We are blessed in Georgia with very nice small towns and suburbs that are not overly crowded and are off the beaten path. We started with the Brussels and the Perogies. This was my first time having Perogies. They are like Gnocchi if Gnocchi was ravioli. They are soft, delicious, savory, and were served with sour cream. The Brussels were okay but they were not the best I've had---they were a little tough to chew and cut and were not as well seasoned as, say, a Toast on Lenox. They accommodating my request to Blacken the salmon. It was simply delicious, cooked to perfection, and served over root vegetables with a scrumptious risotto. This may be the second best risotto that I've had behind that at Georgia Sea Grill on St. Simons Island, which is undoubtedly the absolute best. My lunch entree was so good, and I highly recommend it. They dessert special was the Blueberry Lemon Muffin with Vanilla Ice Cream, and it is enough for two. It was delightful, as I love anything that is blueberry and lemon flavored. There is more of a blueberry compote served on top instead of a traditional blueberry muffin. You will not be disappointed with this amazing dessert option. Overall, this was a stellar post-church lunch on Palm Sunday. We were quite pleased and will definitely return in the future. read more

Bernie's consistently brings out good food. However, their serving sizes are noticeably small. My son ordered their hamburger and it looked like a single White Castle size burger. I ordered their shrimp and scallop fettuccine and thought I had received a half size portion. I'll stop by for a glass of wine but may pass on the food even though it tastes good. read more

We have visited Bernie's a few times since our first time. It remains one of our favorite restaurants but the service has been good sometimes and not so good once or twice. I love the pierogis appetizer but one time they did not have it. And to be honest, that dish is really what draws us there. The steak frites are good but the parmesan fries are a little soggy. My husband had the fish and chips and liked them alright. He would not have gone there just for them but knows how much I love the Pierogi appetizer. :) So that is what he orders when we go there. First timer here!!! Came on a Saturday for a girls' afternoon lunch. Thanks to Yelp, we found this place to try and none of us had been here before. First thing, the vibe- it's a very nice interior with an open kitchen where you can watch the chefs prepare the food. Speaking of food- I had the Salmon BLT sandwich.... And I must say, that thing was absolutely delicious. I mean DELICIOUS. I don't think I have ever had a better salmon sandwich before. The Parmesan fries were a wonderful addition to the meal. No compliments at all. My girlfriends had an open burger with side salad. The other had a salad with shrimp and house dressing. All of us had rave reviews for the food. I might normally have given Bernie's a 4.5, but I rounded up for a few reasons. We happened to be in the area and wanted to explore downtown Kennesaw. This was one of the places I had scouted ahead of time, and apparently they changed their hours a couple of months ago and now opened (on Sundays) at 11 a.m. rather than noon. We parked in a free lot across the street (points for that) and wandered in. I'm always a bit apprehensive about restaurants that serve brunch, actually. My fear is that the switch to brunch only and won't let you order from the normal menu. I'm giving Bernie's points for both a) offering both menus, and b) having something on the brunch menu that was appealing. In fact, both my wife and I ordered it - the omelet. It came with cubed potatoes which were cooked and seasoned quite well. Sometimes these can be greasy but mine were not. Service was...leisurely, in an appropriate way for a late morning on Sunday. Nothing felt rushed and we were never in a hurry to move on. Our server was quite friendly as well. The décor was interesting. It looked like they bought a bunch of lumber, distressed it in various ways, and then put it up in semi-random patterns to simulate using salvaged products. It was odd, but worked. The layout was a large main floor at street level, a smaller balcony level where we sat, and a few outdoor / patio tables. Bernie's was a nice blend of multiple aspects restaurants. My wife & I arrived at 11 am Sunday when they opened for brunch. We were the 2nd couple to enter Bernie's. Laura sat the first couple on the ground floor. Laura took us up to the loft seating. Diego was our server and took our order promptly. We ordered sweet tea which came in a half size glass, full of ice. I drank the sweet tea in 3 drinks. Diego went down to the ground floor and hung out down there the entire time we were at the restaurant. A waitress brought our food (not our server Diego) and we asked for more sweet tea to drink with our meal. She refilled our glasses and went downstairs to take care of her tables. Diego came up to check on us only after she brought our food and refilled our glasses. We didn't need anything at the time Since she had already taken care of us. Diego went downstairs and again hung out without checking on us. We finished our sweet tea halfway through the meal and never got another refill. Diego finally came up to the loft once we were finished eating. He did not check on us during the meal. The food was good but small portions for the price. The food did not make up for the poor service. We have had poor service here previously and stayed away for 10 months. We decided to give Bernie's another shot and showed up early thinking we would get better service. We will not be back. There are many restaurants in the area with much better service. Just go across the street to 1885 Grill. They will treat you much better as a valued guest. Stay away from Bernie's and if you decide to give Bernie's a try, do not let them seat you upstairs. The servers do not pay attention to customers in the loft. All other customers after us were seated on the main floor, so we were the only ones in the loft. read more

Bernie's gets a 5. This was a last minute restaurant decision that did not disappoint. Customer service was wonderful from the hostess to the server. Food was delicious, served hot and very timely. We ordered the beet salad, raw oysters, chargrilled oysters, calamari, Brussels sprouts and the pad Thai noodles. Not one complaint about anything or suggestion on how it could've been better because we truly enjoyed everything we ate. I'm actually finishing up the rest of my Brussels sprouts as I type my review. HELLO! Who looks forward to left over Brussels sprouts ?? The menu isn't overrun with too many options and the options are well balanced which I think allows them to really focus on making each dish amazing. The decor and ambiance is fun but cozy so you could enjoy a family meal, have fun with friends or be romantic with your sweetheart. It really suits any mood. We arrived and were very impressed with the staff and the restaurant. They had asked us where we would like to sit top floor or outside bar even bottom floor. The restaurant is just eclectic a little bit of everything for everyone with the decor of the restaurant. Simple but stated! The food was outstanding. We started with a simple cup of French onion soup, which had all the perfect flavors. we then ordered a few drinks and waited for the chargrilled oysters. Outstanding and delicious; cooked well with different types of sauces to put on them.. We went through them by Grant through Richmond. Decided on and ordered our entrées. My Wife ordered the breakfast hamburger with patti instead of four Patti's which comes with this burger on it, bacon, egg, and cheddar cheese. She added arugula from my dish to her sandwich, which put it over the top for her. I ordered the snapper which was 8 ounces grilled in a butter sauce and was excellent tender, sweet and vibrant.
