The restaurant was not too full for a Saturday night so I was a little nervous when my party walked in. I think that's what is compelling me to write this review. The food was absolutely delicious. Everything flavor wise was absolutely incredible and hot fresh out of the kitchen. We were able to get a free dessert to celebrate my dad's birthday. Totally blown away for our first visit and we will be returning. I will only critique that the menu is a little overwhelming, not sure if it's the format of their different dishes and I wish they had more than one kids option. Other than that the food was great and I think this place definitely should be getting a lot more love. read more

Chopped is a Japanese steakhouse and sushi restaurant conveniently located on Cobb Parkway in Kennesaw. Along with steak and sushi, you will also find American fare favorites like wings and burgers. For our first visit we went in fully expecting to have a sushi night but after looking over the menu we ended up putting together a full in tasting experience. Our first dish was the oysters and holy moly, they were the biggest oysters I have ever seen in my life. They tasted fresh, served on the half shell with horseradish and cocktail sauce, along with saltine crackers. I highly recommend these. Then came a couple of small plates. Bang Bang shrimp, Spicy Tuna Crispy, and Yellowtail Jalapeño Shots. ALL of these were delicious and I would order again. I especially enjoyed the Yellowtail Jalapeño Shots. Super fun presentation and perfect for sharing. The yellowtail were so tender and they had a nice little kick. From the grill we ordered Shrimp and Scallops with a side of Filet Mignon. The scallops and shrimp were both nice sized and cooked perfectly. The scallops were a little gritty but that happens. I ordered my Filet medium rare and it was also cook just how I would expect it. The meat was a little grizzly/fatty but not terrible. I would order again. The restaurant is huge, bright and tastefully decorated. It was a very relaxing space. Our server was excellent. Absolutely amazing! Food, service, ambiance was everything! Dynamite shrimp super good, salad was fresh, miso soup was tasty. I ordered the combination meal, ribeye scallops and fried rice and it was seasoned so well! My son had the chicken teriyaki and he thoroughly enjoyed it! I've found a new favorite spot! I called today 09/22/25. Asked for kimmie and was told she no longer works there. She is one of reasons we would go and bringing back Oyster cafe menu. We will never go back. They probably will go out of business soon. I wish I has the money to back kimmie in her own seafood business like Oyster cafe. Good luck kimmie. read more

We visited about a month ago just a couple of weeks after they opened and although they didn't have their liquor license yet that wasn't a dealbreaker. Everything we ordered was fresh flavorful and absolutely delicious. Our waitress was amazing, so sweet and attentive. She even had us try a smoked tuna bite, not sure of the official name, and it was incredible. The interior is beautiful and has a great ambiance, perfect for a date night. You can totally see this place evolving into a lounge vibe after hours if they added a DJ or live music. Since they're still new they have some specials running which is a nice bonus. If you want to have great Asian food then this is the spot for you. This is a great hidden gem of a restaurant. Great staff, the inside is very nice. Veronica was a great hostess. We've been here several times and haven't had a bad meal yet. From the gator bites and calamari to the Schezuan chicken everything is great. The Schezuan chicken is not for the faint of heart but it is so good. Pepper chicken, Mongolian beef and chicken is delish. This trip is had the Voodoo Steak and it was off the chains. I went to Chopped on SATURDAY afternoon with my son. I order the Asian Steak on the menu / it was the Filet Mignon and Shrimp. When I ordered it I ask for the Filet to be medium rare and most of it was over cook. I sent it back and the cook had it sent back to me saying it was cook correctly. I found it kind of funny that he cut into only two of the cubes of steak which were the two largest one which he was correct , but all the smaller ones were over cook. So this is how this restaurant take care of it's of it's customers. I have been going to this restaurant two to three time a month and never had a problem. I paid way to much for this lunch to be what it was. I was telling many people about it now that going to stop .I not sure I will be coming back. read more

Went in having a good expectations of the place, they let us down. I went and had lunch. They gave us dinner and lunch menus we ordered the spider roll came with four pieces and it was mostly rice and I had to order cream cheese on it. Other than that it came with just softshell crab and rice on top of that they charge extra for sauce, which was $1.50 for sauce oysters were from the Gulf which had no taste and when we asked for the check, they hover right next to us waiting for it. Extremely bad dining experience. The giant signs all over the window would make you think casual dining, then you walk in and the dinning room attempts to be upscale along with a very odd menu. Almost an attempt to meld Asian with Cajun. Had cocktail options listed but could not serve them. Advertised sushi, but very limited menu of options. Steak seemed to dominate the menu so we ordered that. My filet was brought to me first... in three pieces of about half inch thick trips. However, my partners steak was not brought out. We were told they were still working on it. Sat for a few minutes and then he was brought out his side, still no steak. At this point, either I'm eating cold food when his comes out or I eat the filet with a salisbury sauce on it and he eats alone. We were so unhappy we asked for the bill for our appetizer and drinks and left. Place seems more interested in a concept than providing a dining experience. I agree with a previous review that it appears the new owners wish to discourage customers from the Oyster Cafe. The fried calamari tasted either frozen or fried in old grease, the fried shimp has a new breading that easily falls off and is not terribly crispy. The fried "catfish" listed on the menu is actually swai They attempted to have elegent decor, which is nice; however, the asian movie posters on the wall and big signs across the front detract from the look. Well if the new owners are trying to discourage the old Oyster Cafe customers, they are succeeding. Prices are much higher, service is much to be desired, and the food is terrible. Calamari was undercooked and bland. We had the fried shrimp dinner; the batter (which seemed to be a new recipe), and the shrimp were undercooked. Our first time back in quite a while, and we miss the great in-and-out quick service and great food. read more

We visited this new addition to Cobb Parkway based on its interesting menu and few reviews. It's in a remodeled previous oyster house. The new inside is very nice. The front bar has an open sushi bar with a sushi chef. All the seafood looked outstanding. Their menu is very extensive from prime steaks to many Korean dishes. Plus a two page sushi menu. The staff is very pleasant. Also very helpful explaining the different dishes. We ordered the calamari, dumplings and their spicy pork with sautéed vegetables with fried rice. All were excellent. We have found a place in Cobb that knows how to prepare excellent full flavored dishes. If you want it more spicy, they will do that to perfection. We will return to try the sushi. Their prime chophouse burger also looks interest as well. I highly recommend giving this new establishment a try. We need more places like this one. Maybe five stars after we try a few more dishes. Kind of expensive. It is basically hibachi without them cooking in front of you. But they cook everything in the teriyaki sauce just like in a hibachi restaurant. read more
