I had the need to go to Berries 3 times this summer and found the people friendly, the service efficient and the product excellent. The 1st time was for glasses and they helped me find a pair I liked and my wife liked when I got home. The 2nd time I went because I bent the ear piece and lost the screw. They could not fix it perfectly and gave me a new pair. The 3rd time I was having a problem w/the hearing aids which I had purchased in my winter home town but which they also carried. I brought in the case and charging wire and thought I would be paying to replace them both. They quickly evaluated the situation and said I only needed a new cord. When I asked "how much?" they replied no charge as they had an extra one in stock. That's what I call customer care! read more

Went in today to make an appointment for a hearing test...very rude receptionist..she told me they do take patients with Medicare but not patients with Medicare and Tricare for life...This makes no sense since Medicare sends any remaining amount directly to TFL for payment and TFL pays any cost sharing that Medicare doesn't cover...She said I hung up on her earlier but I didn't ...I have a hearing issue..that is why I needed the appointment... read more

I have resound hearing aids I recently purchased at Berrie's. My hearing loss is moderate or slightly worse and this is the 4th pair of hearing aids I've bought having needed hearing aids for about 20 years. I do not hear well with my new hearing aids. I had a recalibration Feb. 16th. since then the sound is too harsh, loud enough, but too harsh for comfortable hearing. Upon requesting an appt. to rectify the problem I was told to wait 2 weeks to get used to the sound. My hearing is difficult and annoying at this time. The first appt. I can have is April 9th. Berrie's does not do prompt and considerate follow up care. read more

Anna and the team at Berries takes exceptionally good care to test, and to fit Hearing aids. When my mother (a SnowBird) received her first set up of hearing aids down in Florida she was shocked at how poorly they worked for the money she had spent. When she returned home to Maine she gave Berries a call and was able to get in pretty quickly. It turned out that the Hearing Aids my mother had received down in Florida were some cheap Over the Counter type aids. While they were cheap they didn't cover her depth of hearing loss. Anna retested her and fitted her with a brand new pair and my mothers hearing in her words "has never been better". Berries has turned things around for me. After my 1-star review, they contacted me with an offer to take back my hearing aids, which were out of warranty, and replace them with a newer model at no cost to me. What a difference! I've had them for a couple of months now, and the new hearing aids are excellent. I can't say enough about them. They are night and day compared with the previous model. I'm a seasonal resident in Maine but my primary audiologist is here in Maine--because Dr Anna Strange is the consummate professional. She takes time to explain things, is down to earth friendly, and if you have any questions--or need help (I'm 74) figuring out the Bluetooth gizmo, for example--she's got all the patience in the world. First I want to commend Berrie's for their diligent care and concern for their patients during Covid. They are taking all the precautions so we can feel safe when arriving for our appointments. Next, Michael is superb. Super knowledgeable and professional. He doesn't rush you when trying to make a decision about choosing frames. He has a knack for finding the best frames that fit your face and personality. Also, the quality of the frames at Berrie's is stellar. The latest colors and styles. I am new to the area and need a new pair of glasses. I was a walk in at Berrie's as I needed the nose pads on my old glasses replaced. Friendly enough folks but was taken back by the $10 charge. In decades of eye care I have never been charged for this service. I know what the pads cost as I usually replace them myself but my supply is in the moving van. Buying eyeglasses at Berrie's was a totally pleasant experience and daily, I get complements on my new glasses. Berries optician, Michael, is the consummate professional. He's very knowledgeable about frames and understands eyeglass materials, shapes, and special options. After getting an idea of what I had in mind, he made suggestions. Within 20 minutes, we were able to narrow the options down to two and then I chose the pair I loved. I felt very comfortable about my choice. My glasses arrived in a little over a week's time. I was thrilled with how they looked and I got used to them quickly. I would highly recommend Berries. Previously, I had bought my glasses online and was very frustrated with the process and not having a specialist to walk me through the process.
