Bert's offers fresh, from scratch breakfasts that are customizable. They will do half orders without a problem. The hash browns are great. Two things keep them from 5 stars. 1. Cash only. Not many people carry cash anymore. 2. When they are crowded, they are 'sit on your neighbors lap' crowded. I've been asked to move after I ordered. I'm not okay having to grab my plate and move. This place is amazing!!!! What a gem! We ordered over the phone and picked up 25 minutes later and ate at the tables outside. The food was seriously DELICIOUS. I had a simple breakfast sandwich with eggs and bacon and it was unbelievably good. My husband had a bacon, cheese, onion, and ham omelette that he loved. His hash browns were so good, I kept stealing them! Ha! My kids LOVED their Mickey Mouse pancakes and my 8 year old said her scrambled eggs were "the best she's ever had!" first time and last time. didn't like to take out breakfast. only reason went there was from the "Stay -cation" packet of gift cards that I purchased from Stevensville area. called to place order told 1 hr 25 mins. decided to wait. had to drive up got back at 1 hr 15 mins. 2 cars in line to pay and pick up. waited over 20 mins for the 2 cars ahead of me and then finally got up to get food. it was just barely warm. toast cold. not a good set up for doing to go orders only! Their prices are too high. maybe priced for eat in and have food hot. if going to drive up only food which is cold, lower prices. and to boot have to wait more than an hour after calling. the omelet wasn't that good either after taking home to warming up. and forget about the toast warming after butter already on it. hash browns greasy after warming up. this breakfast is for eating in a restaurant not to go! had I known I would have went somewhere else. and gave up the certificate. read more

Great place, very friendly service and these waitresses never let your coffee go empty. When I walked into this place I felt like I was walking into a place from the 60's. Went here on a Tuesday morning in January and although the parking lot looked like the restaurant would be busy it wasn't bad with plenty of open booths and tables. I had the breakfast burrito with sausage and it is very much like a homemade version of McDonalds breakfast burrito and was good. My wife enjoyed her bagel and our son liked his Mickey Mouse pancake. We stopped here on a whim. Bert's has decent food and a unique diner ambiance --- given the holiday season, there were hundreds of tiny stockings hanging from the ceiling, but the more permanent breakfast bar was uniquely (and enjoyably) "small town". My only real complaint was that the service was slow. Given it's size, it would not surprise me if Bert's only had one burner in the kitchen. I would probably stop here again for a leisurely breakfast. read more

My wife who is from the area took me to Bert's about two weeks ago and I have to say I wish we had gone to Denny's. The setting is nice, rural and plain. There is a counter and about a dozen tables to sit at so it feels like it should be good... the service is a little over-attentive... but again, friendly. These people take their business personally; this review will not be welcome. That said, there was a woman doing circles like a buzzard who kept throwing my attention as I tried to have a conversation. She was sweet as hell, but also annoying. The food, however, was my biggest gripe. It seemed low-rate, where I thought it would be over the top hearty like a country field of grain. The ingredients were not country, but corporate - skimpy cuts of bread, bad jelly, and I'm pretty sure the cheese on my omelet was Velveeta. I am not the sort to pick things out of my food, but if I am going to eat naughty calories then I want them to be worth it. I ate around the "cheese." Cheap cheese is not what I expected from this type of "hidden gem." The sad part is, that there is probably a nice selection of local farmers making homemade cheeses, churned by hand, which they could be working into their recipes on a trade out for advertising. "We feature Jones' farms cheese, made local so you know it's fresh." I genuinely wish the best for this business and for the people working there. I almost didn't write this review because they were so nice... but perhaps there is opportunity to get better and make a better product. Just what we were looking for! Old school diner. Staff was very friendly. They were busy but got in 2 parties of 5 in just a few minutes. Food was hearty...big servings.
