[[HIGHLIGHT]]Wonderfully cute spot! The aesthetic of the space is remarkably well done.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Their attention to detail, including highlighting what locals love and what options are available, is exceptional.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service was friendly without being over the top. The food was wonderful and included perfectly cooked eggs to our preferences. Order their French toast for the table and you won't regret it.

The biscuits and gravy and sausage patties were good. The potatoes were not good, unpleasant texture. They sell generic orange juice so I skipped that. They buy Infusco coffee and can make decaf lattes. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It is a cute place and the staff was friendly.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I may try something else here.

A couple of friends and myself stopped here after another restaurant in the area fell short- so glad we did! We had called ahead to ask if there was a table available and when we said we'd be right there, to our surprise, they had reserved the table for us. So nice! The two servers we met were both super friendly and welcoming. The restaurant was pretty busy at 1 pm on a Saturday and seemed pretty clean, which is always nice. Quite the age range of customers, too. Two of us ordered the Southwest salad, which was fresh and hit the spot. I do wish the salad leaves would have been smaller, I had to cut them! I also wished the dressing had more flavor- or maybe just more dressing? Our friend ordered the Avocado Chicken sandwich on Sourdough, which she said tasted fresh as well. I will say, it did take quite a long time to receive our order- I was surprised considering we ordered pretty basic items. We ordered coffees to go, Coconut cold brew and a basic coffee with milk & sugar free caramel. They were "okay"- I wouldn't order the coconut cold brew again, myself. Random side-note, their forks were HUGE. Pitchfork is more like it! We are about an hour's drive away, but we would definitely come back to try different items if we're ever back in the area

After a nice ride on the Michigan wine country backroads making your way back to the Red Arrow Highway through Stevensville is the small town of Baroda. It is a one street town. In it is The Local. It is in a red brick two story building that looks like it was a bank at one time. The interior is Pottery Barn-esque. The servers are nice. The menu is small but has enough familiar friend you should find something. I had the All Scrambled Up which is scrambled over sausage gravy and roasted potatoes. It was good. The coffee was weak. The lunch menu looked good. After you are done, drive into Stevensville for a beer at Watermark Brewing.

After buying a house in the area recently, my hubs and I have been on the search for great breakfast spots. The Local has been such a great find! Great food, friendly staff, and an easygoing atmosphere. I've had the skillets twice and loved them each time. They have a great selection of nitro coffees flavors and smoothies. We will keep coming back to this spot over and over again.

I'm a local here. No pun intended. I was hoping to love this place because it's so close to my house. I don't love it. It's just okay. We got take out today. I had the Baroda Bulldog with scrambled eggs and bacon and multigrain toast. It was underwhelming. I know you can be overwhelmed and underwhelmed but can you ever just be whelmed? I think you can in Europe. Okay, okay back to my review. My husband had The Local all scrambled up. Let's start with the good. The food is hot and fresh. The portions are big. The eggs were cooked well. The potatoes were crispy. It's not a bad place to go for a mediocre breakfast. And the not so good...I asked for extra crispy bacon. It wasn't even crispy bacon, never mind the extra. I couldn't eat it. The potatoes, while cooked well, were bland and so were the eggs. For future reference cooks in this kitchen, A little salt goes a long way! My husband didn't care for his food either. While edible, there are much better places around here to get some breakfast. Probably won't go back but I'm glad we tried it.

Sister date! My baby sister and I checked out this cafe The Local and we loved loved the atmosphere of the cafe! Our breakfast included pancakes, lattes, and scrambled tofu (vegetarian and gluten free options!). Will come back for the latte's again!

This breakfast/lunch place has been on my bucket list for quite some time and today we finally made it in. It did not disappoint. First and foremost it's ADA accessible which is a win for my daughter who's in a wheelchair. The staff is super friendly, and nice spacing between the tables. The food was delish and we will be back. Check out the photos of our breakfast. The the weather was rainy today they do offer outside seating as well. Love supporting independents. Only 10 minutes from our house in downtown Baroda.

Hot damn! This place is a new GEM for Southwest Michigan! The local did NOT disappoint! This is how breakfast should taste, it was not greasy, fresh, flavorful, and is probably one of the best breakfasts we've ever had. You have to pay for quality items, and while the price point might be a little higher than others, it's worth every penny. We went on a Friday morning and will get breakfast again Sunday morning there. My husband got the scramble, we split the French toast, and I got an omelet! It was sooooo good. Oh and my husband had the cold brew coffee and loved it. One of the best places around here! Kudos team!! Make sure you check them out, you will not be disappointed!

Our server was super sweet and kind. She quickly brought what we needed and was great. It's a busy place with great music. We loved our visit here and will totally be coming back!

The saving grace of this place was the friendly wait staff. Was seated quickly, but had to wait a while to have our order taken. Was immediately put off by the cost-- $15 for two eggs, potatoes, and toast. Wound up deciding on two coffees , "the Liege Pearl" waffle and a skillet. The coffee was weak and terrible. None of the flavors were balanced for the dishes. Way too much cheese and barely any mushroom or potato in the skillet while the waffle has tons of chocolate dumped on it, drowning out any other flavors. The kicker was that we were given 3/4 of a full waffle. When we asked, we were told the dish normally is only HALF a waffle and that we were lucky to get an additional quarter. For $17. Even if the menu were half the cost, I would never come back here. Edit: Dropped to one star on account of the unhinged response from the owner. To clarify: as soon as you walk into the restaurant, it smells like urinal cakes. I'm happy for the owner that they are attracted to that smell, but I'm positive the majority of people don't want the smell of urinal cakes to accompany their breakfast. Also to anyone else reading this, there are four sit down restaurants within two blocks with better breakfast food at better prices that don't smell like a toilet, let alone 3 other breakfast restaurants that opened in Oak Park in the last couple of years. Do yourself a favor and eat literally anywhere else.
