Berts is great! The food was made quickly and tasted so good! They have a couple different bbq sauce flavors on the table for you to use too. The owner is an awesome guy, he is always out talking to people while he's there. He takes pride in the place and he should! It's great! Regardless what you order I'm certain you'll enjoy it! I really like the double back cheeseburger.

Stopped in tonight, my first time here. I think I timed it right, because a line formed behind me and was out the door by the time I left. I got carry out, 2 dinners with 3 meats, I figured I'd try what they had. Got potato salad and baked beans on the side. The cashier was either training someone or being trained ... In either case seemed a little overwhelmed. He took my order. They have the pad type register that asked you for the tip and suggests 20% before you're even served. I know it's just the register, but they should be able to disable it. Sauces are on the counter and you can take what you want in little cups to go .. You need to figure that out on your own. The habinaro is HOT, the jalipino was good and spicy the apricot was sweet and spicy. THE FOOD: the ribs were done well and meaty. Vert good 'crust' and nicely spiced. The pork was pretty bland and on the dry side, as was the brisket. The potato salad was a good consistency but other than some dill was unseasoned. The baked beans were too sweet for me to eat and the cornbread roll actually tasted off. I'd go back for the ribs if I had all the fixing' at home. I was hoping for better.

    Day old, dry, unseasoned ribs.

Where to begin? We began eating his bbq when he had a food truck in Dundee. The bbq was superb and we really enjoyed eating pretty much anything that he served. Fast forward to today. Over the past year or so, each time we have gone, things seem to be a little worse and a little worse. The bbq sauce seemed to be soured. Like it was kept on the table for an unhealthy amount of time. The pulled pork had no flavor on its own and did not have that good smoked pulled pork flavor one would expect for pulled pork. The bread the pulled pork was on was stale. No other way to put it. Moving on to the ribs...I'll upload pics so you can see, but they were pale, unseasoned, but mainly, they were days old. You can see it in the meat. That is unacceptable for a fairly reputable bbq joint who's price point is more than mediocre. The beans are always too sweet, but I'm a sweet baked beans kinda person so not much complaining there. Side note: bathrooms are deplorable. I've spoken with the owner on more than one occasion. He wasn't there today, and based on other reviewers, it seems he gets a bit defensive so it's not worth talking to him anyway. Sadly. Such great potential with such terrible execution.

1 meat combo takeout, very good!

The pizza is thin crust, uses a better quality of pepperoni, and the bottom is crisply done. The Greek salad was a generous size, a large could easily be split. It had great quality ingredients in sliced kalamata olives and Mama Lil's peppers. If you threw them in whole, they would dominate the dish, sliced they complemented the dish along with the feta crumbles and cherry tomatoes. What was striking in a great way was that all the salad was ice cold and crunchy. Few restaurants take the care with that little detail. The self serve water was perfectly chilled too. They make deep dish as well. Honey Pie is order at the counter, they bring it to the table, and you bus. There is a covered patio outside, and inside long tables to share with chairs and seating upstairs. The staff was great and the service fast. Portland has been suffering from pizza problems of rising prices, shrinking slices, faulty financing, and general grumpiness. Honey Pie was a welcome break! Reasonably priced and tasty!

The Bacon Date was good and unique, but not as good as the Bianca. I can't wait to try more. The shop salad was also fantastic! We had a couple of decent beers and the patio had live music. What more could you want!?! Great spot.

Beautiful restaurant, we really expected a bit of a crowd. We were seated and greeted, waters were provided with menus. We started our meal experience by telling our waiter that we planned to do a progressive dinner down 3rd Street. We were met with a rather disappointed / disheartened response. Their menu was absolutely stunning. Lots of great options. As this was our first stop of the evening, we went for an appetizer. The Albacore Confit absolutely out of this world. Ridiculously good. Huge portion, plated beautifully. Wonderful for the three of us to share. We all raved at how lovely the dish was. Drinks were absolutely fabulous. Gin martini was SOLID. My partner didn't care for his wine but it was a first-time try, that isn't the fault of the restaurant. The Dolores O'Riordan martini was absolutely wonderful. The bar was timely with drinks, which is always appreciated. Overall, ambiance, food, and drink were AMAZING! Absolutely a 5-star experience. However, service just did not slap. We could have survived with the disheartened response at us only staying for one-course but the end of our time with Grounded Table kinda kicked us all in the butt. As they handed me the check, we were met with "We hope you can join us for an entire meal sometime". The inflection was just catty and unnecessary. Trying to look past it, I continued to complete the check but after they departed the table, my dinner-mates both whispered under their breath "that did not just happen, how rude!" Meh, this could hae been the easiest 5-star review ever. The attitude of our server kinda blew the entire experience, the comment was unnecessary.

We first tried to drop by on Day 1, but the place was so crowded that we couldn't get a table. We made sure to book a reservation and returned for lunch the next day. The ambience here is amazing, and the service was top-notch. Our server was great and took the time to explain the menu details to us. We ordered a bunch of different items, and everything tasted pretty good. The paella was definitely the absolute highlight of the meal! While I wish the vegetables had been roasted just a bit more, the rice itself was extremely flavorful. The sautéed mushrooms and Brussels sprouts were another massive highlight--they are an absolute must-try from the menu. We loved them so much that we actually placed a repeat order for them during our meal! Overall, we had a fantastic time here. Definitely visit this spot when you are in the city!

This most recent time, I ordered the 45 minute paella. I don't mind waiting with a glass of wine or cocktail for something that's a treat like paella. Sadly, when it came out it was disappointing. The seafood was cooked well but a little underseasoned. The rice was very bland. I'd chalk it up to someone having a bad night, but this is the second time I ordered the paella and was disappointed. Sad to say, there are enough better restaurants in Mac that I don't think I'll rush back here on my next trip to the area.
