This is a unique resturant as they have a cafe style in the front and nicer upscale resturant in the back. A reverse mullet if you will. We came here for a father's day lunch around 1pm and it was not busy at all. I got one of their seasonal cocktails and the ham and brie sandwich with a cesar side salad. This place has such a nice romantic atmosphere. The staff are so friendly and give exceptional service. The food is delicious. Everything hits! I tried the special which was a Cajun shrimp omelette and got chorizo gravy on the side. I was told the omelette had andouille sausage and Cajun seasoning in it. There was no andouille sausage and I think they forgot to season it. Like no salt or Cajun seasoning to speak of. There was what I think was hollindase sauce on top that also tasted like nothing. I took it home and seasoned it myself and then it was okay. My boyfriend got the alpine omelette and it was also bland and I should have took a picture of it. It was hideous. I was so disappointed with my food. I ordered the seasonal special, which I thought would be special. It was not. The food is definitely overpriced for the quality. I pictured a cultivated dish made with thought and care for the price I paid. Instead I got something not fully cooked and slapped together. So that was a bummer. I placed my order and it was forgotten about. When I came to pay, there was time spent figuring out how much I needed to be charged, meaning was the special more expensive than a normal meal. I was pretty flabbergasted at that since the staff acknowledged their mistake with my food not being ready. I should've told them to disregard the order and left without food, but I really wanted a pick-me-up. If you're not local and you're reading this, go somewhere else. McMinnville as far better to offer at Crescent Cafe and The Diner. You may pay as much but you'll get such a better product, often crafted from local seasonal products. It's worth the wait (if there is one). Heck, go to iHop before this place. Same quality, but at least kids eat free there. read more

I love a good breakfast place. Especially one that gets the country gravy right. This was our first time here. It's another one of those "why the heck did I wait so long?!" places. Staff is friendly and very on top of refills and just knows how to take care of you. The menu is simple but I still couldn't decide what I wanted, too many good choices!!! But as I always say, it's a good reason to return especially after enjoying everything. Our food came out pretty quick. We had 4 in our group and we all loved what we ordered. Chicken fried steak and eggs, corned beef hash breakfast thing (the mustard sauce oh man!), Mediterranean quiche (with yummy hollandaise) and just a standard breakfast plate with eggs,bacon, country gravy, toast! Portions were generous and they aren't skimpy on sauces or gravy! My mouth is watering just thinking of this place again. Easily one of my new favorites! TL/DR: Hidden fees and mouthy staff, coupled with mediocre, overpriced food made for a poor experience. Brought our party of 8 here based on the reviews, which after our visit I'm convinced are mostly paid reviews or personal friends of staff and management. If you think you're ahead of me and that the gripe was the mandatory 20% gratuity, you'd actually be wrong, as we had no issue with that with the exception of our server's attitude. More on that shortly... Our first red flag was that there was only one other group eating during lunch hour. Nevertheless, we were walked past the open-concept kitchen and the food they had on the bar at least looked appealing, so we agreed to give them a shot. We were served by an older lady with gray hair (not to be confused with the much older, shorter hostess) who appeared to double as the bartender. Three members of our party weren't feeling hungry enough for a full entree, and asked if they could order a smaller plate from the kids menu, which was responded with an enthusiastic "of course!" Fast forward to getting the check and all three of our party members were charged an additional $5.00 each for what they ordered from the kids menu, and my wife being charged an extra $1.00 for requesting the gluten free option for her chicken saltimbocca. When asked if the waitress would remove these charges since nowhere on the menu was this mentioned, nor did the waitress warn of these charges when we ordered, she just repeately wanted to argue "I didn't make the menu!" and "most places charge for gluten free and for adults eating from the kids menu" as if it were our fault, or that we should have known we'd get charged an extra $16.00 for literally nothing. Considering we paid close to $200.00 for our meal anyway, I am genuinely perplexed what the goal was here or what they thought they had to gain trying to screw us over. Eventually she caved and agreed to remove the bogus charges from our bill, probably only because I was leaving the gratuity issue well enough alone (at least THAT was clearly labeled on the menu!) Between the food which no one was overly impressed by, the $10 side of fries which somehow cost more than the actual appetizers on the menu, and then the waitress' stunt with the check, I would absolutely recommend staying away from this place. read more

I really wanted to love this place, but the food is a bit over priced for the quality. I'm a little torn because there have been a couple of plates that I've had that were pretty decent, but you can tell that the menu needs a lot of work. The reason I'm finally giving a review is because this morning, we went in for breakfast and I finally made the order of the cheesecake and fruit waffle, which is listed about $18. I wanted to see why it's listed for that much. Boy... the laziest thing I've ever ordered in my life for brunch it was a literal slice of cheesecake on top of a waffle with apple slices and granola. The description on the menu says "crisps." Well, now I know why it's $18 because there's literally a slice of cheesecake which had completely made the entire waffle soggy. Just thinking about that dish makes me want to regurgitate, ngl. My inner Gordon Ramsay couldn't let me go on without writing this review. Honestly have not had that bad of a dish since a different breakfast place in McMinnville, which served me raw garlic cloves with my potatoes - RAW garlic cloves. Mac needs some love in the breakfast/brunch dept. Just, bad. It's a shame because this spot truly has potential. The reason I give it 2 stars is because of some of the wait staff that are very sweet. The coffee was weak and had to ask for refill. The bacon was equal parts fat and meat.The price for a Belgian waffle was absurd but the syrup it came with was good. The ambiance was open industrial and the rustic wood tables trapped food crumbs from diners past in the crevices. The jam served with the toast is excellent though. I HATE to leave bad reviews! But when the owner didn't return my call - no other choice. My friend wanted to take me to a nice place for lunch (a couple of older guys) -- so Alpine Crossing Kitchen. Corned beef hash was ok - underseasoned pot roast. He had the "1 lb bone-in ham steak" - I guarantee you it's exactly, and I mean EXACTLY like the 8 oz THIN one at Fred Meyer for $5. He said "This is a lot thinner than the last time I had it." And they charge $19.75 for 8 oz ham, 2 eggs and side of fruit. So... that's the food. Fortunately we had a very nice waitress but the "afternoon manager" served our water (very snippy when we didn't answer fast enough about what else to drink) and gave us our bill at the end and that's when it got ugly. Just the facts - she charged us for somebody else's hamburger at $21 (+20% tip) which should never have happened with only 4 tables and 8 diners there the whole time. Rather than void it out and start over, she gave my friend a second bill for $16 (with no tip) to cover our $37.50 bill - which he paid. As he was trying to understand why the 2nd bill, she became very abrupt demanding his credit card! He got so confused with 2 bills and 1/2 of the tip he wanted to pay. He just wanted one receipt showing the total plus tip to give to his wife to record expenses. We couldn't even get a complete sentence out to ask for that when she became unhinged. She was beyond rude, raising her voice, disrespectful, demeaning, and insulting - right in front of other diners. It seriously was shocking! Never in my life! She finally voided out both sales, billed him the correct $37.50 + 20% tip. She was loud and mouthy even as we were walking out the door! I finally called to speak the owner and the guy answering the phone was even rude! How much do 2 customers, their families, all their friends, and smart people who read reviews cost a business? $37.50 + 20% tip! I encourage you to read the other reviews about their rude staff. We were excited to visit this new restaurant and virtual game room. Our party of 6 sat in the Loft & Lies dining room. Currently the Alpine dining room is being remodeled. I am amazed at what they have done with space. It's has a cozy, classy golf club feel. The staff were friendly and helpful. It was suggested we make a reservation for a game space while we ate dinner which, we did. I believe the game room time slots are 1 hour. To start we ordered cocktails; Manhattan, Blood Moon, and Tom Collin's. All were excellent well crafted cocktails. For appetizers we ordered Risotto Bites, Hummus Plate and Spinach Dip. Our party of six loved every bite. I was impressed that the apps were not frozen and bought premade, delicious! For dinner we ordered Bacon Cheese burgers. Cooked perfectly as requested, with a very flavorful 1/2 # hand formed, house ground beef patty. The bun was soft and held together perfectly. One of my pet peeves is a bun that falls apart while eating. This bun held together like a champ. This burger will be in my biweekly rotation. It was that delicious. My party also ordered and loved the Pork Ossobuco, Fillet with Pepper Wine Demi glacé and the Lollipop Lamb. You will not be disappointed in any of these dishes. After dinner the owner gave us a tour of the new Alpine restaurant space while we waited for our game space. The restaurant/bar is going to be beautiful and romantic. We were told they hope to open by Valentine's Day. Virtual Game space -They have several lounge spaces to play a variety of games. We chose the space that has, bowling, hunting, soccer, archery etc. We had a blast and a bit of a workout. We will make reservations for another game session soon. read more

Found this place on our way from the beach. Before I start this review I had to take a bite of my Eggs Benedict with a choice of sausage or bacon. Of course bacon had to be the choice and let's talk about the bacon thick and meaty in my bacon sob opinion Delicious!!!!! The side was country potatoes seasoned well and cooked crispy outside and tender inside the way I like. Pops ordered the Basic Breakfast 2 eggs, bacon half waffle. He enjoyed his breakfast and so did Bailey aka the doggie who was able to sit with us outside at our table. She had some "Treats" from our plate. Dad said good choice. Will have to make this a stop again if it's just on a weekend drive. Might have to try a waffle next time since there like 5 to 6 waffle makers in the kitchen. I think it might be the item they are know for. Service was excellent, a few servers greeted me as we waited to be seated and chef even knowledge me waiting. Nothing but good things about service. Ambiance was cool not your typical boring IHOP seating layout. There were no booths just tables and chairs of what I saw at the front of the restaurant. They had various size tables to have 2 to 4 top to even had a 6 to 8 family seated tables. We sat outside so I did not make my way towards the back where more was seating available. House salads were fresh and filling. Ask for a steak knife if you have arthritis. Cons- To me, Herb butter for bread was meh. Just gimme real butter. Ranch dressing needed something. Garlic maybe? Will try the Caesar dressing next visit! Everyone enjoyed the blue cheese dressing. We had our 16th annual company Christmas Party at Alpine Crossing in the Lofts & Lies area. Every single participant from our company came up to me and raved about how amazing the food, the hospitality, and the gaming stations were. This open way to have our party was a better way to let everyone mingle and have a great time while enjoying great food and company. This was without question the best holiday party we have ever experienced, and Alpine Crossing will be our go to from now on. This is a new restaurant that just started serving dinner. The food is good but it seems to be under staffed resulting in poor service. It is overpriced also. We have had both lunch and dinner. The dinners are priced like this is a high end restaurant but it doesn't fit that category. A basic dinner for two with non-alcoholic drinks, salad and dessert costs over $100. We eat out often but won't frequent this restaurant. read more

We came for dinner and I ordered chicken saltimbocca and what I received is so wrong.
