And she had so much perfume on that it was over bearing. Completely stuffed up till I got out side. I just had lunch at this location and had terrible service. I had been the first person to come in for lunch since I was I was on lunch break and the waitress I had looked like she barely wanted to attend us. She quickly would attend other customers and chat with them but gave us dirty looks. Other tables got their bread and salad quickly but she constantly neglected us. The table behind us even got their food before us even though we got there before everyone and ordered before anyone was there. The food wasn't even good and I waited a long time for it. Was at this restraint returning from a weekend trip in New Hampshire on Mothers Day. The place was packed and they seated my wife and four year old twins quickly. Crayons and dough were passed out quickly and we ordered our food soon after we arrived. Entrées came out within minutes and our server was fast and gracious. In my haste to get home I forgot my CC there and was able to contact the manager quickly and he mailed it directly to our home. I had such high hopes when trying Burtucci's on Derby Street. I ordered the baked chicken gratinati and when it arrived it looked promising. Two bites in, I found two raviolis that were stuck together and the middles of the two were frozen solid. As for the "chicken", well I'm not sure it was chicken. The mysterious and identical strips of meat were tasteless and whiter than a vampire's legs in winter. The chicken was definitely not cooked anywhere near an oven or stovetop. Glad that I paid 14 dollars for a microwave dinner. Then to top it all off, the waitress ran the debit card for the table next to us, who had a bill that was triple ours. Today, I was in Bertucci's with my elderly mother. She became sick and vomited at the table. I was so impressed with the grace, compassion, and discretion that the staff handled the situation. They were uniformly caring and attentive, and several staff members stopped by the table to ask if she was okay--not in a "gross! get her out of here" kind of way, but showing genuine, human empathy. Lunch was good as well, but they have earned our respect and gratitude for the service. Thank you! read more

I eat out very often, I have a wide experience of the different types and quality of restaurants in the area. Sometimes I eat in a restaurant because it is quick or convenient or has reasonable prices, or specials. I wanted to try the Bertucci"s meal deal two for thirty-five dollars. It was a busy Saturday night--that is why I excused the lack of Parm cheese offer on our meal--the lack of drink refill inquiries--the lack of offer milk or sugar with my hot tea--or the lack of inquiry for roll refills. That's O.K. but the waitress gave us poor service--not including previous mentions. I told both her and the manager that the steak I ordered {paid 3.99 more for} was very tough and not really chewable--it was obvious I didn't eat more that a few bites of it. I wasn't expecting it to be the best steak I've ever had--but my local diner can do better! No one cared in the least!! This is the second time in a week that I had bad service there. At least my last waitress- though not a very attentive waitress on a very slow night was very pleasant and helpful at the end of the meal--I think she was just inexperienced. I always leave a 20% plus tip and I still did, but I don't think I will be back for awhile. As I mentioned I eat out 3-4 times a week--every week. Food overall is fair to some good--soups are enjoyable as the desserts can also satisfy--the short ribs on Polenta I had last month in the Hingham Bertucci's was a pleasant surprise. However I wouldn't feel comfortable recommending this chain rest. the food is too unpredictable and the service most of the time is lacking. read more

I called in a takeout order for lunch yesterday. When I arrived to pick it up, we realized I must have called it into a different location as they did not have my order. The woman said to give her 8 minutes and they could remake it (impressive for two large pizzas and a chicken wrap), was over apologetic, and offered to call the other location nearby to notify them of the error. I was overly impressed with how nice and efficiently this restaurant worked to fix MY mistake, also giving me a 20% off coupon with my order! Not to mention my coworker and I both commented on how this was the best veggie pizza we've ever had. You would think with what town this particular Bertucci's is in, the quality of service may have been a little better. I have been to the Bertucci's in Randolph and received far better service then I did at this Bertucci's. The management of this establishment should take in to consideration that they are in a prime location for customers and train their wait staff accordingly. We had to wait an hour for a table, after initially being told it was a 30 minute wait. We had a party of five which consisted of two little girls who can only sit still for so long. Once seated our waitress was extremely rude and rushed us through our drink order right onto the entree's with a moment to browse for what we wanted. While waiting for our entree's another waitress spilled an entire tray of drink on us. We did not receive an apology from her as she rushed to clean up her mess and continue on to her tables. Our entree's were delicious, and no one in the party had any issues with their dishes. Once we received our check and were taking a look over it, we discovered that the manager was so generous to take off the two kiddie chocolate milks for the entire tray of drinks split on us. Thanks. Bertucci's does have really great food at a reasonable price. Minus the bad service, our total for a party of 5 with 2 kids was 60.00. I will not return to this Bertucci's again. I will drive Randolph whenever I am in the mood for some of Bertucci's Italian cuisine. read more

This is my absolute favorite restaurant, i love the atmosphere. the servers, my favorite is the chicken parm and mozzarella fritta. i am so upset i moved to texas cause we dont have one here. but whenever i come up to visit MA, my dad and i always go to this bertuccis. and after a delicious meal we walk around the strip mall. love it's location. if you're looking for a great italian restaurant, go to bertuccis in hingham! you'd be glad you did read more

I have been to Bertuccis at Derby plaza on many occasions over past year. I have to say that this is the best pizza place around the south shore. All of my food and friends was always on time, and very well prepared. We had the opportunity to meet a great waiter, Dominic, who we request each time now. He is the friendliest and most knowledgable waiter about the menu. He always pays great attention to our needs and we never seem to have to look around for him, he is always there when needed. I recommend the Sporkie pizza, but try not eat too many rolls before hand. All of the soups I ever tried we're delicious. Ask for Dominic next time and I know you will have a great experience. I know it's a chain restaurant, but Bertuccis knows how to do things right. This is my go to location for occasional weekend lunches and it always delivers. I've never had a bad meal here or bad service and I LOVE that you can see what is going on in the kitchen. The rolls, salads, and appetizers are top notch and the lobster ravioli are to die for!!!!!!! Recently went to Hingham Bertuccis with my husband and 3 grandchildren ..server was friendly, but not a good waitress. Waited for drinks , ordered very explicitly. Pasta with butter and sauce on side, (penne). 1 received spaghetti which was cold, the other penne and also cold. Waited for sauce. The other was raviolis which were also cold, not even warm. I ordered wings..no blue cheese dressing (they explained they were looking for container to put it in) I swear...my husband, sporkie which he said was good. I also had farmhouse salad, took one bite..salad sour. Returned they took off the bill. Finally 20 mins later out came dressing in a little white cup...ate my two pieces of celery..worst meal ever at bertuccis. Wrote to sales VP..never acknowledged..bill 63.54 and a 12.00 tip. I was here recently and had the pleasure of having Sean as a server. Normally, I don't call out a server in reviews, but my friend and I received such great service from him, I just had to mention it. The manager also provided excellent service as well, but unfortunately, I didn't get her name. When we ordered our food,we mentioned in passing that we both had shellfish allergies. We weren't expecting anything by casually mentioning it, so you can imagine our surprise when the manager came over a few minutes later and explained that because of our allergies, the cooks were boiling up a new batch of pasta just for us, so she wanted to make sure we had time to wait a little longer. Now, that's service! And we never even expected it. We were just making conversation with Sean about our allergies. We knew that what we were ordering didn't contain any shellfish. So kudos to Sean for bringing it to the manager's attention and to the manager for coming over to our table and providing such exceptional service. In addition, Sean has an excellent tableside manner, and made sure our dining experience was perfect. In fact, after our meal, my friend said that he must have worked in a high end restaurant, because his demeanor is what you would expect to see in such an establishment. Bertucci's brick oven pizzas are our favorites. We live on the Cape, and whenever we go to Boston, we nearly always order three pizzas for pick up on the way home. Their ingredients are fresh, and the crust is great - not too thick, but filling without resting like a brick in your stomach. One warning, watch out for their hot peppers - they really are hot and spicy - I found this out and now avoid them in favor of crushed red peppers. Prices are also reasonable and the service is generally friendly. If you love pizza, you'll love Bertucci's! read more

I like the food, and the service is fine at Bertucci's, but about 1/3 of my tortellini was stuck to the pan so bad that I couldn't eat it. The portions are already small, in my opinion, compared to similar restaurants. To lose 1/3 of my meal because they didn't use cooking spray was a little ridiculous. Other than that, it's a nice place, but this really irked me, so I don't know if I'll go back. read more

This is the second time in two months we went and were disappointed. This time I had lasagna and it was so stuck to the baking dish, I needed the end of my knife to loosen it. I had to ask for two of those thimblefulls of extra sauce just to enjoy it. My husband and son had fettuccine with chicken ( a few slices of that Tyson bagged cooked strips mixed in), and it was bland, dryish, and not at all creamy. Rolls and oil are the highlight. I have always had luck at this location so we stopped in there when we were hungry and had some time to kill. It was busy but we were seated quickly, they made sure tables were cleared immediately when a party left. HOWEVER, there was a long black hair baked into one of the rolls, and when we brought it to the waitress' attention, she took it away with a look of disgust, but they never offered us anything to make up for such grossness. I understand that things happen, but I have always had a waitress or manager offer you something on the house when you experience something like that. Not even an apology here. I am a foodie deep down at heart. I recently visited this location for the first time and it was love at first bite. Hands down the best pizza I have ever eaten and I have been eating Bertucci's pizza for years. I am not a fan of chain restaurants but have always frequented Bertucci's because of the fact that they make their own dough at each location every day and I find that kind of care and quality admirable this day in age. The staff is always smiling and having fun at work which is refreshing for the customers and the managers are always present which is also surprising since I rarely see management in other restaurants. My wife and I plan on regulating this location and reccomend this place to anyone who is looking for delicious food at reasonable prices. The rolls are free and to die for. The only downside to this location is the very small bar and very loud noise level. read more

We placed a takeout order on jan 19, 2013 in person at the restaurant. It was unbelieably crowded and hectic. we reconfirmed our order 5 times to be sure they would get it right. we brought the order home and noticed it was just wrong. I called the restaurant and talked to a manager marissa or something similar. She told us that we could pick up a new order again.. I told her we live about 22.5 miles away. She promised to send a gift certificate to us in the mail by monday Jan 21, 2013. as of of today we have yet to see the gift certificate. I get the overt suspicion that they do this to anyone who is not caucasian.. Stay away from this place, you can not even file a complaint with corporate as the web page is unfriendly and or if you dont have the restaurant check. I will try to contact them one more time on this sunday. we have always been generous when tipping. Always pay by credit cards. I'm giving this place a one. If I could give it a zero I would. Three times horrible. First time we had a horrible experience gave it a break and said bad night there. Second time the silver ware was dirty. Food still on it. Glasses had lipstick. The service was terrible. The food was terrible. Spoke to the manager. She was apologetic but offered nothing. Went last night because it was convenient for a place to take kids. Thinking it can't be bad 3 times in a row. Wrong.!!. It was beyond bad. Ordered the chicken and spinach over pasta. The 7 year old had spaghetti and meatballs. Waited a long time for the waitress. Someone came with soaking wet bread plates. Waitress disappeared after serving drinks. Had to go find her several times during the dinner. Horrible service. My dish came swimming in a watery broth. The pasta was so overcooked it fell off the fork before I could get it into my mouth. Complete mush. The chicken had grizzle in it. Again no waitress to see how the food was. I didn't eat it. Had to ask another waitress to find our server so we could get our check. Never asked me why I didn't like the dinner. My niece didn't eat hers because it was dry and the sauce was very sparse and the pasta was all stuck together, The meatball was burned on the outside and needed a steak knife to get through it. Today we tried to have lunch at Bertucci's in Hingham, Massachusetts. Bertucci's has always been a favorite of my husband's and, as we don't have one particularly near us, it's a rare treat for us to get to go to one. After having had a stressful morning in Boston, we were really looking forward to a relaxing, delicious family lunch. Boy were we disappointed! It started off great ... we go seated right away, the host and waitstaff were very friendly, personable and attentive. I cannot stress that aspect enough because I feel it's very important that it's understood that my "terrible" rating pertains solely to the food. My sons each ordered the kids pizza - one cheese, one pepperoni. I ordered the Chicken Milanese sandwich with minestrone soup and unlimited insalata. My husband ordered Baked Tortellini and Chicken Gratinati. My mother-in-law ordered the Grilled Chicken Marsala. The salad was the only thing we all agree was worth eating. The boys' pizzas were both ice cold and the cheese pizza was completely tasteless. My Milanese Chicken sandwich was a small piece of Weaver-like breaded chicken on a hard-as-rock-overly-grilled-so-you-can't-eat-it rosemary bread and covered with lettuces and tomatoes that really had no flavor at all. My minestrone soup was mushy and WHITE. It looked more like a chowder than a minestrone and the taste was inconsistant with what I was expecting (not in a good way). My husband's Baked Tortellini and Chicken Gratinati was the worst of them all. It was burnt to a crisp - top and bottom. The tortellini was literally burnt onto the dish. The chicken was strips of jerky and the "cream sauce" was anything but creamy. It was dry, burnt and absolutely inedible. My mother-in-law's Chicken Marsala was icy cold and the Marsala sauce was bland and unappetizing. Her green beans were burnt black (but otherwise COLD) and the rosemary potatoes (yes, potatoes not pasta ... why?) were shrivelled. My husband and I have been together for 16 years and never once - not ever - has he sent a meal back and refused to pay for it, but he did today. That's how bad the food was. To the staff's credit, they were extremely apologetic and not only took my husband's meal off the bill, but my mother-in-law's as well. This, however, does not make up for the utter disappointment in our dining experience. I cannot fathom how the chef could have ever sent out food in the condition it was in and expected it to be acceptable on ANY level. It was disgusting and it was shameful.
