Absolutely amazing brewery. The beer was delicious, the pizza was delicious. Service was friendly and efficient. I visited for the first time recently during COVID, so they were only open for outside service. It was a bit cold, so I do wish they had heat lamps or fire pits to help make the experience more enjoyable. Their outdoor Biergarten overlooked the river, which was a really beautiful addition! Outdoors was also dog friendly- which I loved because I bring my dog with me everywhere! I will definitely be back next time I visit my hometown of Hazleton! read more

Huge selection of beers! The pizza was thin, greasy and delicious! The staff didn't seem too knowledgeable about the beer and didn't really want to give input on the beer at the time that I visited... not holding it against them though because they were busy and I was able to pick out my own beer because they had SO many options! Unfortunately I left Berwick Brewing feeling a little disappointed after my most recent visit. Although this place offers a decent selection of hand-crafted beers in a cool building with a summertime biergarten, that's about where it stops. The pizza for one, is horrible. And this isn't in comparison to large cities like New York or Chicago, but to the pizza in Berwick itself. Greasy, salty, flimsy, and tasteless are just a few of the words I would use to describe it. Berwick as a rule has some great pizza establishments and it's disappointing that this place drags down that reputation. And the service, to be honest, was quite sad. No waiter service, which is fine (you order food and drinks at the bar) but the one female bartender seemed annoyed, disinterested, and didn't appear to crack a smile the whole night. It could have been an off night, but in general it wouldn't hurt to hire some friendly wait staff to make this place way better. Consider Berwick Brewing a place to come for a few microbrews with friends, and not much more. It certainly could use some improvement in the food and service departments. read more

The beer is great (and affordable), the pizza is great, the staff is great, the view of the Susquehanna is great, and the music is great. I don't see much that's wrong here... It's a low key vibe that feels just right. No pretentiousness DESPITE the fact that there could be--after all, they really are the only game in this town. A great testimonial to their quality? I regularly see bartenders from the other closest brewery in town HERE. This is where they come to drink. There are lot of good pizzas on the menu. I would love to describe them but I am obsessed with the curd and jaeger so that's what I always get... But the thin crust and quality ingredients make this. There's 20+ beers on tap. We love going to different breweries and decided to travel an hour from home to try this place and also go to Turkey Hill Brewing. We were looking forward to Berwick Brewing and were disappointed. Not in the beer, but in the overall atmosphere of the taproom. We arrived around 4:30pm on a Sunday and there were quite a few people in there with only one bartender, who was also only a few days into the job. The place is dark, hot (there was one big floor fan at the entrance) and dirty. The barstools are all mismatched (not mismatched in a cool, hip way) and the ones with round cushioned seats are all torn. Cobwebs everywhere. You can tell this place is not taken care of. They don't even have a proper tap system. Extra head and beer was disposed of in a bucket. A bucket?! We ordered one flight of 6 samples. When I picked up the third glass in the flight there was a huge, dead moth hanging off the bottom of the glass. Gross. I'm glad we didn't order any food. I knew immediately walking in that we wouldn't just by the look of the place. After one flight we got out of there and headed to Turkey Hill Brewing (which was fantastic). I can say that the beer here was actually good, but seeing the state of this place I don't feel comfortable eating or drinking there. This place was a once and done for us. read more

Some outdoor seating with a river view (sort of). Beer variety is HUGE for this size brewer. Flights, samples, growler and crawler fills. The beers we had were pretty dang good. Need to come back to do the whole selection justice and try the rest. Menu is limited to pizzas and pretzels and bags of chips. Seems family friendly, lots of peeps with their kids at 6PM on a Saturday. Pizza was good, though I would call this a place to drink beer and socialize more than a place to eat. Berwick has some of the best beers I've ever had and there are always a ton of them (12+) on tap to choose from. The IPAs are always great and you can't go wrong with any of the European style beers. Make sure to get a growler to go! The menu is limited to homemade soft pretzels (plain, jalapeño or cinnamon sugar) and really incredible thin crust pizza with unique toppings including Jäger sausage, Hungarian kielbasa, and Wisconsin cheese curds. The curd-n-jäger and Graham standard are my favorites. They've recently expanded the kitchen and will be expanding their menu in the near future. It's by no means "fancy" or "upscale", but I quite like the casual warehouse atmosphere. Service is always good and the owner is a nice guy to chat with. Seating is bier hall style, with no table service, but it's also cozy enough for a date night. It's relatively kid friendly, especially in the large back room. Went here with my dad (A Berwick native) and my 9-year-old daughter on a Saturday just after 1PM. Nice casual vibe, bench-style seating and plenty of it. Small bar area with a few stools. Huge selection for a local craft brewer, 20+ as has been mentioned. Most of the expected craft beer styles are represented, and lots of german/lager styles. I'm not adventurous and only had the dry-hop IPA. Nothing revelatory but pretty solid. Dad had a lager and gave it a thumbs up. Pint and growler fill prices are good and reasonable. They also have a "small glass" option, and flights. Growler/crowler fill prices correspond to the pint prices. Not sure if they have a crowler machine or if that's just for 32oz growler fills. There's also local Catawissa-made soda options. We all had pizza, and again nothing mind-blowing but very solid. Thin crust, 13", minimal sauce. The toppings here are very unique so that's a plus. Cheese curd/jager sausage was on point (think bacon crossed with smoky kielbasa) tho the meat was pretty spare. My dad had the sausage and that was excellent. Most of the pizzas are between $9-11. All in all this is a nice spot keeping it local and, judging by the lunchtime rush, seems to be doing well. Pizza competition is kind of steep in this area, and while BBC isn't at the top of the heap I have no complaints about the food or the brew. read more

Make sure to put it on the GPS because you might just pass right by this place! Hidden in the back of a building, this place is a great little gem when traveling through PA. We were going camping for the weekend but decided to stop by since it was still rather early in the day. Came with two other friends and we all got flights of different beers. Favorite was the dry hopped IPA, but everything else was superb as well. Food is nothing to laugh at either, got pretzels, cheese curds and a delicious pizza. Second experience wasn't so good. After enjoying it so much on my previous trip I went out of my way to get to Berwick and called in an order for a takeout pizza. Arrived on time and it was ready, paid and left. Then opened the box to see a pizza burned to a crisp and charred, not sure how a business would sent that out and not cook a new one, and/or comp. the pie. The pizza was very charred/blackened, had a puddle of grease layered on top and the shell was paper thin and fell apart.
