We stopped in as we were in the area celebrating a new car. The ambience was nice and our server was friendly, but that's where it ended. As a Far Easterner who grew up in the food business, we found the appetizers, "sushi rolls" & ramen bland, with no depth of flavor, gentrified with a capital G. Our crispy tuna appetizer was given to the table to our right by the food runner in pigtails. They had ordered within 30 seconds of receiving it, while we'd already been waiting 15 minutes, and it still took 30 more to remake. Dishes came out in the wrong order, and no discount was offered which is a gold standard in customer retention and experience. This place feels run by inexperienced management. I heard good things about this place, decided to try it out. It's located on the outside border of the mall with your typical mall parking. Ambiance is low key, not too loud. The servers were nice and accommodating. We definitely overdid it with the food and ordered too much. My favorite thing was the takoyaki (served fancy in individual spoons). I also tried the karaage chicken - I wish the chicken was cut into smaller pieces and that they were crispier; the pieces were pretty large. I tried the deep fried soft shell crab bao (it was okay, I'd probably just get the crab as an appetizer next time and not as bao). Lastly tried the dirty fries (not bad but too saucy). We came here on September 7 around 6:20 PM, and this was hands down one of the most disappointing dining experiences I've had in over 30 years of working in the hospitality industry. We asked for indoor seating and were placed on the waiting list. About 25 minutes later, we were told indoor wasn't available and asked if we'd accept outdoor seating. That was fine--we agreed, got seated, and were given menus, water, and utensils. Here's where it went downhill: a large group came in after us, plus two other customers across from us. Within minutes, three different servers rushed over to take their orders, bring appetizers, and serve drinks. Meanwhile, our table was completely ignored. Not a single server even looked our way to ask if we were ready to order. We sat there waiting, while everyone else was served. When I finally spoke to the Manager, her excuse was that "the servers are new." She apologized and even offered to comp our food. But by then, the damage was done. We had our 3-year-old daughter with us, and after being treated like we were invisible, we had no appetite to eat. We left without ordering. The worst part? It felt like discrimination. The big group was greeted with enthusiasm--one server even said, "Awesome! I got you guys." But not once were we acknowledged. Because we weren't "dressed up" like the other group, it truly felt like we were brushed aside. I've owned businesses overseas and spent decades in this industry. Being "new" is not an excuse for flat-out ignoring guests. This wasn't a mistake--it was a complete lack of basic customer service and respect. Went here for lunch for the first time since we were already at the mall. We tried the Limited Birria Ramen. Was unsure of how it was going to be since it seemed a little gimmicky but they put this dish together very well. The ramen had a smokey aroma and the broth they used was very rich and flavorful. I've been going to this location for almost 5 years. It is hands down the best ramen in north county. I recommend this place to anybody that wants ramen and have taken a couple people to have ramen for the first time. So you know what comes out of the kitchen is gonna be good. All that said, they are starting to slip in certain areas. Their outdoor seating section needs some attention in the cleanliness department. The center table outside is glass topped. My second to last visit I noticed there was some food trapped under the glass. A couple weeks later, the food was still there. Yuck. Last thing, also sitting outside on a different visit. Guests had their dogs with them. No problem there, they weren't bothering anybody. But then they put bowls for them on top of the table where people eat. Not cool and servers didn't say anything about it. Poorly cleaned tables and dog slobber doesn't make for an appetizing experience. Hopefully they address those issues because after going there regularly I'm starting to second guess my visits. read more

This place used to be a 5 star restaurant however gross mismanagement has resulted in a horrible change to the quality of the ingredients. This place used to have my favorite ramen and had the best pork belly in the tri city area by far. So good. Thick slices of perfectly cooked and cut pork belly were so good. However management has decided customers would rather have a small thin poorly cut tough bland piece of essentially deli meat. Shame on them. I ordered before and thought it was a fluke only to return and get the same poorly cooked and served meat and had to pay an extra 2$! To add literally a 1oz serving of tough chewy bland meat. Unless this is fixed I will not be returning. Not to mention I got a piece of Gray salmon in my roll that tasted awful. Really disappointed in how fast this place went downhill. read more

Taste is subjective, of course, but I'm shocked at some of the comments regarding the taste of the food here. We tried it for the first time yesterday-- I had the Chicken Paitan and my husband had the Spicy Miso Ramen and both were EXTREMELY flavorful, probably the best we've ever had in North County. On top of that, everyone who worked here was very friendly and welcoming and they seemed to function as a team very well. True, the ramen took a while to come out-- a lot different from a Japanese ramen house where you're literally served in like 60 seconds. They also have outdoor and bar seating. staff was helpful, attentive, and patient enough considering our party had 5 kids under the age of 6. We came during happy hour which knocked about $2 off a few sides. The ramen had thin noodles and a good broth. Chicken karaage was flavorful and crunchy. The fries were also a filling appetizer and it's toppings compliment each other well. I would consider this place to lean more towards casual... a bit on the loud side, but it may have just been our rambunctious kids heheh. The spicy miso bowl was good and decently spicy but the Tonkatsu (black) ramen bowl was more flavorful, especially if you like garlic. The Nagoya chicken bowl is filled with big pieces of chicken karaage over rice. The chicken is delicious and you won't be disappointed with this dish. Service was very friendly and attentive but we were asked every few minutes if our plates could be cleared. No, we're obviously still eating...is there a shortage of plates in the kitchen? Our first time at this restaurant was a pleasant experience. It's been on my to-go-to, mental bookmarked, places for a while now. Cobie was our very attentive and informative server. He was fantastic. We as a family like to go out to eat together on the last day of the month. It's been a longstanding tradition. So we all agreed on a ramen joint. I got the creamy vegan vegetable ramen. It came nice and steamy. It's a cozy place and kept pretty orderly. We dined inside and we were able to see all the interactions from the kitchen to bar area. I am so pumped to have made it over to Beshock Ramen. As soon as I walked up I was greeted by a super friendly gentleman who ended up being the most amazing server! The food was absolutely delicious! I had a spicy pork ramen and my friend had the basic chicken ramen. Both were so good! I had to have a little sushi on such a hot day and added a salmon avocado roll l. It was super fresh and mouth watering! They had the cutest little drink on the menu which was basically a sprite with blue cherry flavoring topped with ice cream shaped like a cute little animal. I just had to try it! Beshock is such a cute little restaurant with good patio seating and indoor seating. The restaurant isn't too big which was great because it allowed the severs to give everyone full attention even though the place was packed! I can't wait to come back!
