Whenever I'm in town to play golf, I always try to stop by Full Bellie Deli for lunch. It's one of those places that feels local in the best way, great food, friendly people, and quick service. The sandwiches are always fresh and packed with flavor, and you can tell they actually care about the quality of what they're making. It's the perfect stop before or after a round of golf or if you're just looking for a solid lunch in Anniston. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, and the staff has always been super friendly when I come in. Places like this are the reason I like supporting local spots instead of big chains. I have to give a special shout out to full bellie deli. This is my favorite place to eat, and wanted to share it with my staff. I took them there for our Christmas party. The staff was great. Despite the lunch time crowd, our food was served promptly, so quickly that several of my staff commented their surprise. I hate that I forgot The owners name, but he is a gracious host. Plenty of space for a medium size group. I am certain that if we had a big group he would have been more than happy to help accommodate us. If you haven't eaten here, you are missing out. We were passing thru town and wanted to eat at a local place. I found this one on yelp and the sandwiches looked good. The service was great! They were patient with us while we looked over the menu. The menu is written on the wall which is a great touch. There was plenty of seating for our large family. We had the reuben, judge, courthouse, Marshall, and gurnee (sp?). They come with a selection of white, wheat, Italian or jalapeno cheddar bread. They also have several wrap options. They gave plenty of meat on each sandwich, which I appreciate and choice of veggies and sauces. We got combos with a drink and chips. I also had the pasta salad as a side. It has a homemade dressing and sweet peppers in it. It was delicious. Our check was very reasonably priced, considering we have 4 hungry teenagers and 2 adults. Stopped here for lunch while on a work trip as the reviews indicated it would be a good option. Had a great experience as just two people were working (which might be their normal), and they handled the lunch rush like pros. Had a great sandwich and their chicken tortilla soup, and they were kind enough to give me a free drink. I've been living in Oxford for a little over 5 years, and just now heard of this place. I'll say in all of Oxford and Anniston, this was the best restaurant I've been to. The food was amazing, they put a lot more meat on the sandwiches than any other deli. The price was very reasonable. The service was very quick as well. We had the pleasure of meeting the owners who were so very kind and a pleasure to talk to. We tried out Full Bellie Deli today for the first time. It was deliciously fresh! I order me the Gurnee Sub sandwich which comes with pepperoni, salami, ham, provolone cheese, lettuce, bell peppers, onions, banana peppers, black olives and Italian dressing Moma order the Gurnee Salad (you can make any sandwich into a salad) Colton ordered the Federal Sub sandwich which comes with your choice of bread (he got jalapeno cheddar) Turkey, Ham, bacon, pepper jack cheese, lettuce, tomato and choice of dressing. He also order a side of coleslaw. We absolutely loved the flavors of the sandwiches. It was the best most freshest deli meat, vegetables and bread we ever had when eating a sub sandwich. The Italian dressing on the Gurnee was the perfect addition to make this sandwich absolutely amazing. ------ A little backstory.... The owners joked about opening a hot dog stand when they moved here, but when they visited a sub shop franchise and noticed they turned down a large catering order, a light bulb turned on and they decided to opened a fresh deli sandwich shop in Anniston. Their bread and cookies are baked fresh daily and they even slice the meats daily too. This restaurant is run by a friendly husband and wife dynamic duo!! So when you order your food from them you are getting top notch service and help put money in their pockets to take care of their family, instead a huge corporate or franchise restaurant. Full Belly Deli is open Monday through Friday 9 am to 3pm. They do offer catering for large events on week days and even weekends. ------- Cleaniness 5 Stars Customer Service 5 stars Food Quality 5 stars Atmosphere 5 stars Quantity of Food 5 stars It is a little more pricer than these franchise stores BUT the quality and quantity of the food you get is totally worth the extra couple dollars!!! The only complaint I have is I don't like they do not cut up the meats or lettuce for the salad causing you to eat the whole slice of the meat or you trying to cut it up yourself either with your hands or plastic knife.
