Rooftop sunset view from the Fenway Hotel
    Caroline J.

I love this historic hotel which is walking distance from downtown Dunedin. The rooftop bar is by far our favorite sunset view over the water.

We had a wonderful stay at the Fenway! We were celebrating our 20th anniversary. There was complimentary champagne when we checked in which was a nice touch. The staff were very welcoming and helpful in every area of the hotel. We had dinner at Hew restaurant inside the hotel the first night and the food was excellent. We enjoyed watching the sunset from the rooftop bar every night. There was a jazz musician who played in the lobby/lounge area in the evening. She was excellent. We really enjoyed listening to her. We loved the short walk into Dunedin. There are plenty of restaurants and shops in town. We would definitely recommend and hope to be back again.

Super cute hotel, well kept and has a jazzy vibe to it, very much Dunedin. It is located two blocks away from Dunedin downtown. Our room was small but very clean and cozy. Check out the rooftop bar and enjoy dinner at HEW Chophouse, - one of the best restaurants in town (we loved their seafood beignets and baked brie).

Relaxing afternoon at the pool at Fenway Hotel.

We stayed at the Fenway for just one night, but had an incredible time and definitely look forward to going back. The architecture was beautiful, the pool with thr lounge chairs and umbrellas was super cozy and we especially loved our evening with Terry at the bar! If you stay here I recommend checking out the rooftop bar and also taking a trip to Honeymoon Island State Park

Great hotel about a 15 min walk to downtown Dunedin. Room was comfortable and the staff was all beyond helpful. Decor around the hotel is excellent too. Rooftop bar is great especially at sunset as it has amazing views!

    Oats brunch (vegan)

Absolutely beautiful venue right on the water! You can't beat the views here. Gorgeous historical style hotel with modern ambiance and decor. I was here for a wedding in October, which was stunning!! We came for Sunday brunch with friends and ate at the restaurant downstairs. I was happy they had vegan options (milk for the coffee and a delicious oat bowl). Although they didn't have bottomless mimosas, we ordered a couple of bottles with OJ for the table. Lovely space and amazing service. Highly recommend!

This Hotel is a gem in Dunedin Florida. Rooftop bar, lovely Spanish style, with a wonderful pool in the middle. The staff and management are just outstanding!! Every single time we interact with the staff, they are welcoming, well spoken and extremely efficient. This is the hotel that you want to stay if you are looking for an experience. Not just a room. This Hotel is the whole thing. Come see for yourselves this incredible hidden gem overlooking the ocean from the balcony of the rooftop or having a bite Al fresco at the entrance. Next to the wonderful landscape gardens

I'm shocked about the other reviews. Because of those, we had high expectations only to be extremely disappointed with everything. We paid OVER $600 for one single night and this is what happened: First, the so-called store had a few shirts and hats and some ridiculous toys. No snacks, toothpaste or anything else you'd expect in a hotel store. Rooms were small. My husband felt like we were in a motel six. And this was a surprise. This was Valentine's Day. They had two different performers on Monday and Tuesday, but not on Wednesday, Valentine's Day. HEW, their restaurant had a no-choice menu so you couldn't order off the menu. And, frankly, they had nothing u would eat. Both bars showed little interest in serving me. Jordan was on his phone at first and took forever to acknowledge I was even there. Upstairs , after probably 15 minutes, one of the many bartenders acknowledged me but that was it. I left. The lobby is smaller than any hotel I've ever paid over $600 for. The shower curtain rod was rusty. Damage to the bar chairs. I just expect so much more. Really no where to sit is the bar. We won't be back. To make matters worse, we were charged double and have to talk to the accountant about getting one charge back.

From the moment we arrived Wen received the best treatment. The staff was welcoming and kind and really made us feel special. The rooms are clean and spacious with everything we needed. We'll definitely be back. Added bonus is the rooftop bar!!

    Can we have lunch there?

Absolutely! Please visit hewchophouse.com for menus and hours or call us direct at 727-683-5990. We hope to see you soon!

Random questions.... 1 Is there a jacuzzi/hot tub? 2- What type of coffee maker is in the rooms?

Hi, Rebecca! There is not a jacuzzi at Fenway, but we do have an outdoor pool. We have complimentary French Press delivery to rooms and have complimentary lobby coffee from 6am-11am daily. Our team hopes to welcome you soon!

    How far is the beach?

Hello, Marcy! While Fenway does overlook the beautiful St. Joseph Sound, the closest beaches with swimming access are 5-7 miles from the hotel. Please feel free to visit our website at FenwayHotel.com to learn more. We hope to see you soon!

What is the Dress code for the restaurant?

Hi, Dave. HEW Parlor & Chophouse is a neighborhood restaurant, so we encourage you to come as you are. Some are dining to celebrate a special occasion, while others are keeping it casual from a day exploring Downtown Dunedin. We hope to see you…

Is the rooftop bar dog friendly?

The property is not pet friendly. I believe this applies to the rooftop bar as well.

We won't stay here again…read more The photos look nice and, in general, it's okay. Here's what you should know: There is still musty carpet in the rooms. The A/C takes hours to cool the room down. There was a loud leak behind the walls in our bathroom. The toilet was not sealed to the ground so it rocked if you sat on it. The A/C had a loud constant rattle when it was on. The bathroom had no fan so anyone in the room can hear you using the bathroom. It also had no dimmable or soft light options so if you use the bathroom in the middle of the night you only have a bright light to turn on. If you look over the balcony you can see the rectangular pool, but when you sit on the chairs you only see townhouses across the street. If you can overlook those things, then here are the positives: The bed was comfortable. There was a mini fridge. The parking garage was small, but well-lit & you must use your room key to use the elevator, which is a nice safety feature. The room doors have a peep hole, but you also get a peephole cover so no one can look into your room. Once the room was cooled, it was nice to rest on their comfy bed. They have breakfast & a little shopette. Here is why we won't stay here again: The manager never called me about our terrible last night's stay. The last night of our stay, the next room over had a screaming kid & baby. All.night.long. I mean nonstop & it was impossible to sleep. By 3:30am we called the front desk & they said they would check on them. At 4am we called again because it didn't stop. I called & spoke with Kylie. She wasn't helpful & instead of apologizing or offering to move us, she only said "alright" before hanging up when I let her know that I would call back if it continues. When we shared our experience at the front desk the next day, the lady apologized, but that was it. I asked if they could do something for us, so she retrieved an older lady. That lady said that she can't offer anything but the general manager would be in on Monday & would call me then. Never received a call.

Whether it's pricing, cleanliness, customer service or location, I have nothing but good things to say. Consistency is key with anything & I can confidently say I've had nothing but good experiences in all the times I've stayed here. Most importantly, this hotel is clean. Whether it's the lobby, hallways, rooms or any of the common areas, it always seems tidy. House keeping does a great job at tending to the rooms, making sure the place is kept spotless. Of course, there's been times where I've had to wipe a countertop off that got overlooked, but generally speaking, they're on it here. They're also in a great location when it comes to visiting from out of town. They're less than 5 minutes from Honeymoon Island State Park, 10 minutes from downtown Dunedin & they're surrounded by delicious restaurants. In fact, they practically share a parking lot with one of the best seafood joints in all of Clearwater. You get free parking here, there's a nice pool, the gym is solid (but currently being renovated) & they have a pretty good complimentary breakfast. Coffee & hot tea is offered in the lobby 24/7. Honors members also get 2 bottles of water upon check-in which is always one of my favorite freebies. Overall, this hotel makes visiting a treat every time. The incredibly comfortable beds, quiet surroundings & nice staff are all you could ask for when traveling.

My husband and I went for a quick honeymoon getaway, just 2 nights of our Florida trip because our room was booked over the weekend. There was plenty of parking in front of the hotel which was perfect because we didn't need our car in Dunedin. Check-in was seamless and the communication with the front desk was excellent. We stayed in the Zen Suite which has a patio facing the street. There is a lovely wine bar with live music across the street. Both nights we sat outside and enjoyed the music but do visit Stirling Wine (I reviewed them as well, great crowd). The Zen Suite is so comfortable and thoughtfully decorated. Anything you need is already in the room including dishes, flatware, refrigerator, iron, blow dryer and robes. It was easy to relax. The king bed was very comfortable. We found everything in the room easy to operate - TV, AC, door locks. We also enjoyed the pool area. The pool wasn't heated so it was too cold for me but my husband enjoyed it. I relaxed on a lounge chair with an umbrella. We also took advantage of the breakfast promo with the red next door which was very convenient. Overall 10/10 doesn't cut it. We cannot wait to visit again and will stay at least 3 nights!

If you're looking for 3 nights of uninterrupted sleep, I would strongly recommend booking elsewhere. If you're looking for a front desk that seems largely indifferent after multiple complaints about noise, this may be the place for you. If slow internet is high on your wish list, you'll feel right at home. One of the biggest challenges was the noise. This is an older property, and sound travels easily between rooms and common areas. During both nights of my stay, wedding related events were taking place on site. On one evening, the noise continued past 11:00 p.m. directly beneath my room and made it extremely difficult to sleep when I had to be up very early the next morning. When I contacted the front desk, I was informed that they were unsure when the event would conclude but would ask guests to keep the noise down. While I appreciated the effort, the disturbance continued for quite some time. To make matters worse, I got very little sleep during my stay due to a combination of wedding noise, loud guests, and children running around above my room sounding as though they were jumping off furniture. One of the wedding groups was openly drinking in an area where alcohol was apparently not permitted, while music and noise continued well into the evening. I made multiple complaints, and while I was told staff spoke with those involved, nothing meaningfully changed. Guests who are sensitive to noise or need a quiet environment should absolutely keep this in mind before booking. Housekeeping was another area where my experience fell short of expectations. I spoke with 2 different employees and requested that my room be serviced later in the day due to my schedule. Both assured me it would be handled. However, when I returned that evening, the room had not been cleaned. The trash had accumulated, I was out of fresh towels, and I had to contact the front desk multiple times before reaching someone. After a long day away from the property, this irritated me. I also felt the property was marketed in a misleading way. The booking photos make it appear as though you're staying at a large historic waterfront resort. In reality, a real estate developer has built numerous Florida-style condominiums and oddly placed residential homes throughout the surrounding property. Much of this development is conveniently omitted from the booking photos. While the hotel building itself is beautiful, the actual setting is far different from what is portrayed online. The surrounding condos and residential buildings significantly diminish the historic atmosphere, and I found the marketing misleading. The room itself was comfortable enough, but I did notice a few cleanliness concerns upon arrival, including crumbs and areas that appeared to have been overlooked during preparation for check-in. It's also worth noting that this is not a full-service hotel. Dining options on-site and nearby are somewhat limited. There is a small coffee bar, and guests receive a breakfast basket with items such as croissants and fruit, but there is no room service and only limited food service available. The property has a lot of visual appeal and potential, but the combination of noise issues, inconsistent housekeeping, slow internet, limited responsiveness, and unmet expectations regarding the overall experience left me upset. Having worked with professionals in the hospitality industry for many years, I can honestly say this was one of the poorest guest experiences I have ever encountered. A good night's sleep is one of the most important parts of any hotel stay, and that was not my experience here. It's a real shame that this property wasn't preserved in a way that honored its historic character. Instead, much of that character has been overshadowed by the surrounding development, which takes away from what could have been a beautiful landmark. Personally, I wouldn't say here again. Beautiful property, worst service and worst sleep of my life.
