Saw this place on Yelp so we thought we'd give it a try! We went for lunch on a Wednesday so the restaurant was very quiet, which we love! Service was great! We had yummy watermelon margaritas and then we ordered some tacos. The braised short rib tacos were the best, followed by the ahi tuna, duck and crispy fish. We had the pina colada crème brûlée for dessert. It was yummy but it was basically a vanilla bean crème brûlée with some chopped pineapple on top. I would definitely recommend this place, especially if you can't get in to Hudson Taco! read more

Absolutely disappointing. This place has such potential to be perfect. The location and views are spectacular. Unfortunately, the food and drinks left a lot to be desired. We had the octopus and tuna ceviche. We ended up sending the ceviche back because of the foul tasting fishyness. The rude waitress assured us "it's raw fish, I eat it all the time". We also eat raw fish all the time and knew something was off. Some pieces of octopus were good but others we almost had to spit out. The margaritas were dull and the steak/fish tacos were bland. I wanted to like this place. Beso was just ok. Music was so loud you couldn't talk and it's very small. Pics are deceptive. Half hour wait for a table which would be fine if it lived up to my expectations. Service was good but the Food was just ok and timing of food was just weird, it didn't come out together. Got one taco, waited a bit and my kids got their rice bowls and then waited some more and got three more tacos. Hudson Taco does it much better. Place looks great but that's it. Skip going here and just go to Hudson Taco. read more

We went for Mother's Day's. The service was not good. I don't blame the waitress she was young and you can tell she was not trained properly. Our orders were wrong and we waited and waited. They brought plates and they didn't know what they were bringing out. Then they were going to serve us another tables desserts. Over priced. Never going there again. read more

Service was very friendly here and explained menu items without issue. Also very great view of Hudson River here, definitely a photo opportunity while dining. As for the food, I really wish with the Mexican street corn, it was the typical cotija cheese mixed with paprika, butter and chopped cilantro, the ancho corn crust thing was bit off, would been better a straight version rather then a different take. Birria taco was very yummy, the braised short rib, was very tender and really soaked the broth to be super juicy. Caramelized onions were sweet and savory, the cheese got buried in meat and onion and birria dip was savory and not overly salty which rare for anything birria. Roast duck taco, was similar to birria, but very sweet on top of everything else, plus a bit of acidic punch from the pickled jalapeños. Wood grilled asada taco, beef was very juicy and tender, plus grilled just right without that charred burn taste, but man tomato habanero salsa was very spicy and did it kick your taste buds on one bite. Grilled green onions were second thought over the salsa and did not chill the heat of the salsa. The charcoal chicken, first sadly the chicken was pretty dry with it, and only slightly tender. Orange adobo and pico de gallo with the cojita cheese give some spice and flavor. But the chicken was sadly the weakest of three. Its bit of tie between Hudson taco and here for the better taco spot, but a leaning more of this place for better flavor and here has actually parking rather than scrambling across the street. read more

Planned on going to Hudson Taco but they had an hour and a half to wait so we came here( I now know why there was no wait). The place looked very nice, but the hostess got a seated right away but was rude telling us that he would need to move tables around to sit a party of 5. Once seated it took us 15 minutes before anyone came to our table. Wish the bad news stopped there, but this was the worst meal that we had in our 3 years in NY. No seasoning and half of it came out cold. We had leftovers but chose to leave them rather than saving them for later. The view of the Hudson River was pretty! Food was good. Service was not. We sat for so long before even getting our water we thought it best to order our food and drinks while we had the server. Ordered our drinks and some tacos, a side of rice and beans, and chicken wings. The side of rice and beans arrived a full 10 minutes before anything else. As the food dribbled in, we still awaited our drinks. Would have been great if the server would have explained that it's more of a tapas place and what to expect. As noted by other reviewers, the portions were VERY small. After we finished, my husband approached the server covertly to cover the bill for our table. He gave her his card and returned to the table. 15 minutes later we were ready to go and she still had not brought it for his signature. I found her hanging out by the bar chatting with the other servers. After I caught her eye and she brought it over she gave it to ME. The menus were never picked up from our table! Not a fan but if you like small tapas and the view of the hudson then this is for you. The tacos are micro for $4 with a mini piece of meat or fish and a dash of cilantro. Wine is not too bad but of course it's not a wine place. It is a tequila joint so if you like tequila you will like their cocktails. Sorry I didn't even take a picture. Wanted to leave a review, saw and heard good things about it. Walked in manger sat us right by then entrance so I didn't bother taking my coat off. After waiting 15 min, nobody even came to give us water or even look our way. We got up and walked out. Don't like being ignored especially at a highly rated restaurant ready to spend money on food and alcohol. At least bring some water!! read more

The location, decor, and vibes are immaculate. The menu has good variety. I enjoyed a tasty margarita or two and the food was good but not amazing. I went when they first opened (weren't even on Yelp yet!) and definitely want to go back because I'm sure things have been tweaked since then. We went for lunch the day after Christmas 2024. Service was great. Food came fast. We really enjoyed the Mexico beach decor (except the houseplants, which are integral to the look) seemed to be dried out and dying. Intimate cozy space. Great views of the Hudson River. The food was ok - loved the unique Mexican "street corn" recipe. Tacos were a mixed bag. Would come back to try other dishes, and see if tacos improve with different team in the kitchen or when the place is most bustling. read more

The ambience however the service took so long. It took 20-30 minutes every time we needed to get a servers attention. We asked for more of the 15 dollar chips and guacamole 4 times and they just never brought it. The portions are outrageously small for the price. Every bite is basically worth 2 dollars. First visit there, Valentine's day. Nice place on riverfront Fast service, nice person. The Margarita and beers were wonderful to behold. We feel like it would be nice to hang at happy hour, late spring or in warmer weather to enjoy the direct view of the riverfront. Beso is very cute and yummy! Great location, GREAT margaritas, pretty good service. We did have a large party, but we weren't seated for our 7:30 reservation until after 8:00, so plan accordingly. The other negative is that the portions on most items are VERY small (like, tiny tacos, a total of 6 chips for the chips and guacamole small), so again, plan accordingly. Been here a couple of times already and love it! Food is so fresh compared to other local taco spots, their margaritas are incredible, location is right on the water by the Hudson River so the views are so pretty, and bonus points for having a cute and aesthetic bathroom. I always order the spicy margarita because they make it the best, and I love their tacos. Service is usually very quick even on their busy days. It's a small spot so they tend to fill up quick on the weekends so I'd say dine a little early. I believe they even do live music on the weekends which I haven't experienced yet read more

I do not recommend this place to anyone. First the service is not that good. Second the food seasoning or just the food over all does not taste good. Third they try to scam you with one part they have on their menu it's the part called PLATOS and when you order they don't tell you that if you share ONE plate like with someone else you have to pay the amount of plates with how many people you share for example if order the asada mixed grill and a share with a friend I have to pay two of them which is just so dumb definitely never going back and do not recommend save ur money. read more

Nestled next to Blu Point right on the waterfront it has excellent views and a comfortable environment. We were seated immediately because the restaurant was empty. Our server was excellent. She didn't rush us and was very accommodating. We had a child's portion of guacamole which was a perfect size. The empanada was very good. Crispy and a little kick in the sauce. My problem was the tacos. Lamb and duck both had some watery sauce that not only overtook the flavor but made the taco too moist and grainy. It was not a tasty bite thus the 3 stars. We had all our food on the table only minutes after our first round of drinks! The food is decent. We stuck with tacos and the nachos appetizer and both were good. The cocktail menu is great, lots of fun choices...BUT the drinks are so weak. For $15, you should taste the tequila! Our drinks were so watery we said something to our server. This was our second time at Beso and we had the same experience with the drinks the first time! Hopefully they can improve in this area. This was my first time being at this restaurant and I give the restaurant a 2 out of 10. The view is awesome, the restaurant is very astatically pleasing and overall clean. The ambience was also good. The drinks I ordered (beso margarita and watermelon margarita) were very good. The appetizers i ordered were just not good. The baked clams were horrible. They seemed to be frozen and pre-made. The stuffing was nauseating in taste and in look. The clam shell was extremely hot but the stuffing was mildly cold. The guacamole had pumpkin seeds. The sweet plantains was the only descent item I tasted and it really was not a wow factor, it was more like I'm hungry and at least this is ok to eat. The tacos (fish tacos, chicken, birria) had no real flavor. The waitress was not familiar with the menu, unable to suggest anything or answer any questions. The tuna tataki taco was absolutely delicious! I'm still thinking about it. Also the spicy pineapple margarita was incredible! The elote corn and the mixed grill was also delicious (especially the steak). The ambiance was absolutely stunning. I personally didn't love the Birria taco due to maybe cinnamon or something in it but that was my own preference. We also were given extra tacos that we didn't order and when we told the waitress she didn't acknowledge it. We ended up just sharing the extras but I could tell she was actively ignoring my multiple statements so that didn't sit well with me. I usually give the benefit of the doubts to new restaurants but this one was not managed well AT ALL. I had a dinner reservation last night and STILL had to wait an hour to be seated. The food comes out in the most bizarre ways and don't even think of ordering an empanada because THEY SUCK. (The tacos were also mid and my expensive drink tasted like a cup of fleischmans), the ambiance was pretty solid but that is the only aspect that can compensate (and you can find this kind of ambiance anywhere on the Hudson River example Hudson taco). After the hour wait, shitty drinks and food we politely asked for any type of reimbursement at the bare minimum. The manager was not very apologetic and did not budge. Only go for the location (which added 1 star to my review). The food is tapas not tacos. Everything my party had was just plain. Everything lacked seasoning. Drinks were weak. The service was slow and inattentive. We had to find him anytime we needed anything and then when finally got the check, asked if we were local homeowners and explained he had a handyman side hustle and wanted to give us his card... seemed like a nice guy so I hope he is a better handyman than server. read more
