Recently, I even had a situation where I texted Jeff about a light coming on in my car during a roadtrip.

They were super helpful and seemed quite honest about my car issues and costs. The front of my car looked brand new when I got it back. Would definitely come here again for the great work done here.

Super shady shop!!! I bought a car from a guy who gave me complete maintenance records of all the…read morerepairs Leading Edge did for him. There were all sorts of scams and unnecessary repairs including: 1. Leading Edge replaced the front brakes at 119k miles and then again at 130k miles. Brakes again after 11k!! Front brakes should last at least 40k miles, usually more like 60-70k. 2. Leading Edge replaced the lower control arms at 116k and again at 146k. Control arm bushings last at least 100k miles. If you need control arms again at 30k, either the parts were junk or the alignment wasn't done right. 3. Leading Edge charged labor to replace both the serpentine belt and the alternator. You have to remove the belt to remove the alternator, so an honest shop wouldn't charge for the belt when doing the alternator. To charge full price for both is outrageous. 4. Leading Edge charged $250 to replace the radiator and $174 to replace the radiator hoses. You have to remove the hoses to replace the radiator. Here again, it's a rip off to charge labor for both. 5. Leading Edge charged $475 labor (just labor!!) to install tires, clean the beads, and replace one TPMS. $60-120 is typical at most shops for all this work, especially if you are buying tires from them. $475 for tire installation is probably the most outrageous repair scam I've ever seen.

I ultimately gave this place two stars out of five, and I genuinely debated giving only one. The…read moreonly reason it isn't one star is because the staff are at least very friendly and welcoming. At first, I felt relieved to find a location close to where my elderly mother lives, and I hoped it might be a trustworthy option since other residents in her retirement community go there. I could immediately see why people feel comfortable: the friendliness is noticeable right away. Unfortunately, it didn't take long for me to start feeling uneasy... During routine visits for my mother's car, I noticed significant upselling and costs that seemed far higher than expected. For example, she paid around $120 for a cabin filter replacement that I later learned is often closer to $30 for her type of vehicle. That was the moment I realized I no longer felt comfortable trusting their recommendations, and I decided I would not bring her car back. I briefly considered giving them another chance with my own car, hoping the earlier experience had been a one-off. When I called about a simple headlight replacement (after already researching the exact part and repair) I was told they had to see the vehicle in person and was quoted an extremely wide range of $80 to nearly $500. I chose to go elsewhere and had the same repair completed for $40. I also found the volume of follow-up emails and maintenance reminders excessive and pressure-filled rather than helpful. Trust matters when it comes to car care--especially for older customers. Based on my experiences, I do not recommend this location and would encourage others to proceed with caution.

Since I was not from the area, I was not sure where to take my car to have it diagnosed and fixed. I was very concerned that I might be overcharged or that my car would not be fixed properly. Thankfully, Autohaus was recommended to me and I am very grateful that I followed through with that recommendation. Not only did they take in my car the next day, but it was fixed and returned to me in two days. I priced the work with other shops in the area and I was pleasantly surprised to discover that what Autohaus charged me was very reasonable in comparison. The guys at the shop took the time to explain to me what was wrong and how they planned to fix it. I really appreciated how I was treated. The shop is not fancy, but the guys know their stuff. They specialize in European and Asian cars. My car was fixed and I was able to make the six-hour drive home without any problems. I have not had any issues since the repair. Note that they do not take credit cards - only debit cards or cash. I highly recommend them.

Was having fuel pump and other issues with my 2018 VW SUV. Decided to go to this auto repair shop…read moreto see if they could fix it. Spoke to Brian (owner) and Rich (mechanic) and they ensured me (with 30 mins of talking) that they use the latest technology that VW dealers use to diagnose and fix vehicles and I decided that they would be the shop for me to fix my car. The next day, on the way to Mt Washington Autohaus, my truck broke down in middle of street and i had to have it towed there to the shop. Waited 2 hrs for tow truck and got it there. Rich the mechanic and I helped get the truck off tow truck along with the tow truck driver and into their very small vehicle bay. Signed paperwork and left vehicle with Rich. About 1/2 hr later, owner, Brian, called my phone yelling and screaming at me to get my truck out of his shop because it doesn't run and they aren't able to fix it because it won't move. He threatened to get my truck out of his shop Right NOW or he would get it towed away somewhere. I was then informed that the software they use to diagnose cars does not go past the year 2016. This is after Brian told me he uses a $10K OBD2 scanner and he could fix anything. I ended up wasting my free tow from my insurance company and having to quickly call another tow truck to remove my vehicle from Mt Washington Autohaus, which costed me almost $200 after i was told to bring the truck there. I would not recommend that ANYONE go to this auto shop due to the very rude nature of the 70+ year old Men that run it and make nothing but excuses and are unapologetic in the way they handle business with customers. They also have a terrible insect infestation in the front desk area of the shop but dont seem to mind it along with a waiting room/ front desk area that looks like it has not been upgraded since the 1970s. I would not recommend for anyone to use this shop and look for other alternatives. Brian and Rich's deception of my trust in them to repair my vehicle has cost me a lot of extra money and time and they do not seem to care and offered no other solutions to me after they misinformed me about their abilities to repair vehicles. I have never been thru anything like this in my life and hope no one else puts themselves in a position to do so either. 0 of 5 STARS!!!
