I had quite the adventure trying to buy a new phone after mine went caput. AT&T didnt have the phone i wanted, and after trying 2 different locations, one suggested Best Buy. I came to this this location and was eventually helped by one of the four people lolly gagging around. He told me that the had the phone i wanted! I said that's great. I will take it! Then the other shoe dropped. He said i would have to make an appointment to buy it, and they are all booked for today. Wut. I looked around. By the look of the other 1 star reviews I am not the only one disappointed with the customer service. Snarky and rude are just 2 of the words I can use to describe the staff. Or are you folks wanting to be Amazon employees' of the month by having customers not wanting to shop there? When you have an upset customer don't be snarky. When a customer is needing help do not have them walk through the store to the tent to plead for help and then need to walk back from where they started. Have the staff member back there get on their earpiece and state " customer needs help in...." Takes just as much time to do that as telling them to go to the front to the tent without putting out the customer who is not there for you but you should be there for the customer. Raymond and newcomer, Ellie's, were there to show me a replacement desk top of it is found that my computer is old, in disrepair or something not right. I need my desk top bad. Duane was such a professional, enthusiastic and kind employee to sense my urgency to get my computer back. I'll have withdrawal symptoms but I have faith in him. Raymond's cheerfulness and willingness to mentor Ellis as he learns the rope made this former teacher proud. Only draw back is that I do NOT like their "National" phone number. Went in knowing what I wanted to buy, Gonna buy a 350-dollar monitor, about 60 bucks in cables, gonna talk to the rep about some gaming glasses potentially. but instead of that, I came home and ordered it through Newegg and Amazon. This was because I stood in the electronics section for 33 minutes trying to hunt down someone to help me. I will never shop at Best Buy again, because of a very unpleasant and unprofessional gentleman (?) named Nicholas Martin. I purchased a Macbook Air. Very happy with it. Convinced a friend to buy one after that. Had a problem with Apple ID PW. Spent 2 mos trying to resolve. Two very long phone calls w Apple & the last one told me his machine was defective, I should return it. Not responding as it should. I told Apple where we purchased it & he said they would probably make an exception. We went to Best Buy & I briefly explained the problem & asked for a store mgr because the problem was complicated & I had hoped to explain it once. Nicholas Martin walked over during the conversation & had attitude & "NO" written all over his face. I asked if he was the store mgr & he said yes. We went to the Geek area & discussed further. Basically his answer was that it was an Apple ID PW problem & not returnable. That's NOT what the Apple SR. ADVISOR said. He was rude & I got upset. Told me our options were keep the computer or take a store credit, period. I asked politely for cash as that was how it was purchased. Said he didn't want to rehash it over & over. I said that was unacceptable. I told him I would write as many bad reviews as I could, would write to the local newspapers & tv stations. He said I was threatening him. I wasn't. I told him "you gave me our options, I'm giving you yours". It was not my money or computer, so I asked my friend what he wanted to choose. He accepted the store credit. I went outside because I was very upset. I texted my friend to get a business card & he did. Turns out Mr. Martin is not a store mgr, he is a Geek Squad Mgr. Exactly what I did NOT want because their job is to fix electronics. A store mgr I believe would have been much more polite because they would care about customer satisfaction. They would have at LEAST attempted to care & resolve the problem. Done. As promised, I will post this truthful and negative review EVERYWHERE I can. And neither my friend nor I will ever shop there again. Except to use up his store credit for $1100 that my farmer friend needs like a hole in the head. read more

The store manager was extremely rude and didn't offer any help in the least. To top it off I was lectured on security and interrupted multiple times while attempting to resolve or find a resolution. I recognize fraud is high during this time of year but I wasn't given any options. Note that this 1 star review is based on my experience with the Geek Squad at this location a few years ago and still leaves me fuming! Summer of 2006 I brought back in my HP laptop to be serviced for the 3rd time in 13 months. Convinced I bought a lemon I was planning on yet another few weeks without the laptop while Best Buy & HP coordinated fixing the power pin to my motherboard. a few weeks go by and the lap top is done. I send a family member to pick it up as I'm fresh out of emergency surgery. I get home, laptop back and ready to fire it up and catch up.... I turn on the laptop and, to my surprise, find my computer WIPED CLEAN... all programs, documents, EVERYTHING GONE! Furious, we try getting ahold of Best Buy. The Geek Squad manager of this location (where we brought it in) has no clue what's going on and after looking into it a few minutes, tells me "oh well there was an irregularity with your hard drive so they replaced it." Never was I contacted about such a thing and I certainly did not and would not have authorized this. Geek Squad blamed HP, HP says Best Buy authorized the repair. Geek Squad policy, as I was made aware is that any and all repairs must be ok'd by the customer before said work is done. all HP and Best Buy did was blame each other and the customer service rep at Best Buy did was give me attitude and essentially told me that it sucks but it's not their problem. Said laptop died on me again 3 months later (4 instances within a year and a half).. this putting their lemon policy into effect. I paid $1,000 for the lap top and they tried to force a $600 laptop on me... I was not playing that game and after an hour convinced me to give me full price for my laptop to which I purchase a Gateway and am typing this review on (4 years later). This experience will certainly make me think twice or three times about purchasing my next laptop from Best Buy.. I can tell you, I certainly will never deal with the Geek Squad again! read more

I would have given this store four stars easy and maybe five just a few years ago, but the quality of service here has took a nosedive to the point that it caused me to write this review. Several employees one young man very rude and arrogant. Others that had no knowledge and clueless to the products I was enquirering about. I know the coronavirus and lockdown shook a lot of Buisnesses and they're trying to rehire their workforce but the poor quality of the several workers and rudeness I dealt with has caused them to lose this customer. We needed to get a router for our house after moving and dropped in here about five minutes before close. I know, we're jerks. But on the plus side, no one seemed to care in the store! We walked in, were greeted right away and directed to the router section. SO works in the phone/cable industry so we knew what we wanted and only took a minute to pick ours out. We checked out at the service desk, no wait which was nice, and were gone before close. I usually have good experiences at this Best Buy but about a year and 3 months ago I purchased an 1,000 + dollar mac book pro laptop from them. Just the other day my computer completely crashed. I've been told that it's completely gone and not worth the money to fix it so I might as well buy another laptop. Again this was a very expensive Mac and the newest one and it barely lasted more that a year. I was sent out the door with pretty much just an oh well. Not a sorry and or any other solutions. This was so disappointing to me, I am a college student so it was a very important and valuable purchase for me. I wish they would have atleast tried to work something out with me sense there was no way for me to control this issue . It had no water damage or general damaged on the laptop. I bought a Surface Go from the Brighton MI location. I don't know a lot about computers, so I didn't realize when I got hacked by an outside force. The lady wanted me to buy software to protect my computer for $499.00. I didn't know what to do, but it didn't seem right to me. I took my computer back to the store in Brighton. When I got there I was greeted by Kevin. I explained what had happened and he brought me over to the Geek Squad. He was AWESOME!!!! He was so nice and really listen to me. Then he interduce me to Koceila from the Geek Squad. Koceila gave me GREAT customer service. He made sure my computer was virus free. He also, helped set up my e-mail. Both gentlemen made my night. Prices on retail products that aren't on sale are quite high. Geek Squad's primary service is $299 if you have files you want to keep. I'm all for fixing a system and saving some money, but at $300 not including hardware, that is pretty hard to swallow. I actually don't like the layout of the store, it is very overwhelming and not in the kid in a candy store way. Too many people asking me if they can help (over and over) or ignoring me. Bought a Toshiba laptop here in March 2016. The hard drive crashed in October. My choice was wait 2-4 weeks to send it to Toshiba to be repaired/replaced under warranty or pay $75 for a new hard drive, and $99 for a new OS to get it in 2-3 days. I went with option 2, with the thought that surely, the store would refund the replacement and deal with Toshiba on the failure to get their money back. NOPE. Not a chance. I have two kids who need laptops, plan to go to ABC Warehouse and then show the Brighton Mi store manager the receipts, every time I buy a piece of technology...especially the big stuff.
