This is why I do not like or trust YELP and its snobby reviewers. A lot of you people dont understand simple things. Like the fact that the metro Boston area is EXpENSIVE if you can't deal with the price of things here, move away to timbuktu up in Northern Maine where walmart is 50 miles away or pay higher prices here. We also make more money here so its all relative. Things are more expensive on the east coast and the new England area as a whole so get used to it and stop complaining. Go to the midwest , or Southwest or Idaho if youwant to pay less, but you'll make less money. Also I don't g et all the negative reviews about best buy. I have been coming here for years with no problems at least for smaller items it is a good store. I would never buy a TV or anything big item here. All you have to do is look around. If you look to the left ont he way out you see the clearly LABLEED GEEK SQUAD , customer service counter so one might easily be able to deduce that you dont check out here, The only other area with check outs is to the right by the entrance of the store on the front wall. Its not that hard to realize that HMMM Maybe these are the check outs. Its pretty obvious to me which ones the check outs are. its not that confusing. People overexaggerate things and are way too whiney and sobby on yelp they also give 1 star for one tiny thing like the waiter taking 5 minutes too long when they were short staffed and during a busy time. I dont understand yelp people sometimes it annoys the heck out of me. I've had nothing but pleasant interactions with the employees at Best Buy. The Geek Squad over at Best Buy Burlington are absolute rock stars. They have saved more than one of my devices from certain death! At other times they advised me on new devices with conservative suggestions based on my price limitations, and I have always been happy with the results. This week, my Nord OnePlus phone was threatening a total factory reboot and freezing, and Johnny brought it back from the edge in no time! Do not waste your time going to this store. Not sure about any other Best Buy's but I went here to buy a new TV, surround sound, all new appliances for my kitchen & a washer & dryer. I spent a hour in there, asked for help 3 times while the people working played on their phones & were cracking jokes & talking amongst themselves. I finally left without receiving any help. Not sure what happened to this place. I had a wonderful experience a couple of years ago. I'm standing in a nearly empty (no customers) store and can't get anyone to help me. I drove a significantly long distance to the Burllington, MA Best Buy store to purchase an open box item labelled as "excellent" condition. Their description online states "looks brand new...contains all original parts/accessories." After arriving home I noticed the product had food in all the speaker grills and scratches (that I could not remove) in the sub. I then noticed that the soundbar was last years model (was supposed to be model: 990c in the box (it is 990b as shown in the photo). I returned it at the nearest best buy at the time, but was told I should go back to the original store to receive better compensation. I wasn't going to make the drive again so I simply returned it. I attempted several times to contact corporate to settle the matter, but was unsuccessful. The call center kept telling me I needed to drive back to the original store (which I refused as it was too far). I'm looking for compensation for my time, gas, and inconvenience from Best Buy incorrectly advertising their product (and also having the components from different model years). read more

Very disappointed. I ordered and paid for a flat screen tv last Sunday promised delivery on Tuesday. Waiting all day. Horrible customer service. Delivery driver told me at end of day he couldn't make it no one communicated that to me. Promise of delivery this morning. Then I'm told whoever promised that wasn't true. I'm probably going to cancel. I'm also told the status of my order is not going to be known. Delivery as no one is really honest there. I have to call them. No emails or texts to communicate with me. Today I came to Best Buy, Burlington Ma to purchase a tv to replace my Vizio that had failed after 15 years of good service. I was told by the salesman that Walmart had recently purchased Vizio so we had to go there to buy another Vizio. It was a long distance so I decided to try another brand. The old Vizio had a 27 1/2" screen but that wasn't available in the LG brand we chose...We upgraded to a 36" LG. The salesman was OK but indifferent. When we got home we measured the small-seeming screen and found it to be 27 1/2" although the box was CLEARLY marked 36"...Wow! A call to the geek squad confirmed that this sometimes happened in the factory abroad. We were instructed to bring it back and they would look at it....We will do that next Monday. Also, before he realized the size mistake my son tried to help me set it up and saw there were very few step by step instructions. It took a long, frustrating time to figure it all out...The price was lower than my last set, but I'd prefer to pay more and get more staff input and assistance. read more

I placed an order for the Quest 2 to be picked up. I picked it up within an hour of receiving the message that it was ready and brought it home. I proceeded to open the package. It appeared to be new, however, it was missing the charger and the manual pack and had scratches, a big piece missing, and was definitely pre owned. I brought it back the Best Buy to exchange it for another one. I was in the store for an hour at the front desk as the employees try to figure it out. I'm not sure why they couldn't simply exchange it god another one, as this is clearly their fault. Zero rating for customer service. We purchased a tv with delivery & installation & protection plan and the delivery date was set up. Day of delivery we waited all day, unable to access their computerized system for delivery info. Finally late afternoon I called and spoke to a woman who understood our frustration but it did not appear there would be a satisfactory outcome. After a period of time she called back saying someone was on the way with the tv. It was Installed as arranged. A few days ago I got an email that our new tv was scheduled to be delivered this week so I called, explained we already received the tv and to cancel the delivery. Next I received an email that the protection plan we purchased for the tv was cancelled. Spoke to 2 people today about reinstating the protection plan--answer: they cannot do that we have to go back to the store. After putting me on hold for 15 minutes (that was after being on the phone 1 hour) she disconnected me. Very poor customer service. Very disappointed. I am not sure if this is Best Buy or just the Burlington MA store. read more

If there were a negative-star rating, Best Buy would have earned it. I will never shop at a Best Buy for any reason ever again. Unlike its top competitors (e.g., Target, Walmart, Amazon, Costco) who have "best-in-class return policies" (see https://money.usnews.com/money/personal-finance/spending/articles/stores-with-the-best-return-policies-and-worst-return-policies), Best Buy allows only 15 days for a return - and they make no exceptions or compromises. Instead, they prey on consumers' desperation to return an item to extort $50 for a Best Buy membership as a condition for accepting a return after 15 days. The 15-day return policy is not posted reasonably for consumers to see, and most consumers would reasonably expect a big-box store like Best Buy to have a return policy comparable to its competitors - but it does not! The managers couldn't care less, and there is no simple escalation process beyond reporting this unfair and deceptive act or practice to the Better Business Bureau, state Attorney General, and Federal Trade Commission. The manager at this particular location, Ray, is tanking Best Buy's business. He refused to return a $37 item, and despite protest, he preferred to send a customer away from the store angry after the customer warned that failure to return the item would result in the customer filing numerous complaints against Best Buy with different regulatory authorities which will cost Best Buy time and money to respond to, sacrifice thousands of dollars in future purchases for the business, and proliferate negative word of mouth. Ray claimed that he is attending law school so he knows better. I cannot believe Best Buy employed (continues to employ?) this individual, and I fear for the legal profession if this unreasonable and short-sighted individual is admitted to any state bar. I am now eagerly awaiting Best Buy's imminent store closures and inevitable bankruptcy. It doesn't deserve to exist if this is how it is run. read more

Lied about the tv being in stock and didn't inform me until delivery day. Then when the tv did arrive they called and scheduled the delivery but then somehow it got messed up in the system. Completely unacceptable. Trying to get through to someone in the store was also a disaster. Will never buy another product there. read more

I had order an item for pick up and on my Best Buy app it showed "getting it ready for pick up " for 2 days so I decided to go in to see if it was a glitch on the app and they then proceeded to tell me that they did have the product but I just had to wait till I got an email from them. Last night my friend and I went to Best Buy to purchase an Oculus Quest VR headset (a $400 item) as a holiday gift. When we asked for assistance finding it, we were led on a wild goose chase all over the store by three different employees, none of whom knew where it was located. (Inexplicably, the answer was under Tablets, not Gaming, as might be expected.) Later, as we were exiting the store, we were rudely stopped by an employee who demanded to see our receipt, despite the fact that we had just made our purchase in his sight line and were carrying it out in a Best Buy bag. It seemed like fairly obvious racial profiling of my black friend, particularly because we didn't observe him asking to view anyone else's receipts. The whole experience left a bad taste in our mouths. We definitely won't be back. read more

Kind of like other local electronic stores in the Burlington Mall area, you get good service about 80% of the time, hence the four stars. As you can see with my check-ins, I practically visit every 1-3 weeks. Best Buy has suckered me into the no-interest financing for over a decade now and $10k+ in purchases later, I still haven't paid them a dime in interest which I'm pretty proud of. Everything from complete kitchen upgrades to the latest HD rabbit ear antenna, all of it has walked out of my hands from this location. It's not the biggest store and the thing that is most severely lacking is the appliance section. In fact, a handful of times the floor model I looked at in an online advertisement was not available here so I had to seek it out at another BB location. But what they have in lack of stoves they easily make up for in a decent section of televisions and computers. Help is spotty, especially on slower weeknights when they aren't as fully staffed. But the people I've dealt with have been very pleasant and helpful. I've had a handful of returns and never an issue there, either....even with slightly complicated logistics at times. It's also my go-to place for something as simple as recycling old bulky products like CRT monitors on down to those chords you never use any longer. If you want an amazing appliance section, go to Framingham. If you want an easy on/off literally across the street from the I-95 exit to pick up the latest phone, this is your store. read more

I am so upset with the service and being told different things by people at geek squad. Windows 10 sucks. I have no choice but to get a pc with it. Seriously it's a ploy to make more money after people suffer years of work on software that I couldn't even begin to explain. If anyone has suggestions please tell me a better place to get my lap top cloned. I keep being told by different people different things and I was told if I purchased a new lap top my old one could be cloned. NOPE DIDN'T HAPPEN. I was literally praying to god this whole week that it could be fixed. They said it's the motherboard and screen. But it was working just fine maybe a few bugs until it didn't turn on. I noticed with an old battery it started up more but since the battery was dead it didn't load all the way. They are insisting it's the operating system. I've had people at the IPhone store that certain iPods I had were broken for good, or I got instructions to save everything manually which would have taken too much time. I found out hacks to fix them thankfully. So being told, yes your lap top was successfully cloned it's just a bigger challenge to clone it onto a new laptop which was more than I can afford and won't have the software that had many projects on it. It's so complicated I cannot explain. I have a membership with geek squad and I've been told different things like,"getting a new battery for this won't work" and another time,"oh maybe you should try a new battery." For years I haven't used a battery to reduce the chance of overheating and got a fan. Again, my laptop was fine. It had no virus', maybe needed a couple updates but it was functioning! Do you know how long and tedious it will be to get software that no longer exists? Even someone said that if I brought in another windows 7 laptop the cloning might work, but another person said no it won't. I have been ignored and I haven't been pestering them, most of my life is on that computer and it's not about just about data. I literally was praying to god, and it's not funny. There's so many for lease signs why can't they use a vacant space to carry parts that aren't THAT OLD. It's always "update update update" and you spend more and more. First I'm told the clone was successful then another guy says it wasn't. I don't like being lied to. I haven't been able to eat, I just want to sleep. This is one of the last things I needed. For anyone reading and thinking,"it's just a lap top," has no idea. I've suffered pretty damn tragedies in the past few years that have really tested my vitality, and this is just the straw that broke the camels back. I also was told I'd get an email about getting a new battery. Never got it. There has to be a way....it wasn't that corrupted! I cannot remember every single thing and software on there because my brain can't possibly remember everything from my lap top that I depended on. I was crying like a fool on the phone and I tried not to. I hate technology. I hate windows 10. Please someone wish me luck by trying a new battery to see if it works. Unable to reach best buy by phone. Notified that my app would expire on September 16, 2018. I phoned Geek Squad on that day. Spent 45 minutes on the telephone and finally gave up. Phoned on September 17, waited for 40 minutes but no luck. Phoned on September 19 40 minute and 20 minute wait. My app has expired although that happened because Geek Squad was unavailable on the expiration date! They keep trying to get you to sign up again, but if they are unreachable, then you have no tech support. Customer service folks keep interrupting; don't listen to what you are saying. Absolutely the worst purchasing experience of my life! I am building an Inn Kennebunkport Maine and I ordered 10 televisions online it was expected to pick them up at the Burlington store. When we arrived we were told that my credit card had not been processed when in fact it had been. I was asked to come back the next morning to pick up the TVs. After much going back-and-forth between corporate in the store I could not figure out how to complete the task. They made me feel like a criminal! I had given them my credit card and my license I paid in full for the televisions and they assumed I was playing some sort of scam because I was buying so many TVs at once. This went on for over an hour in the store! I can assure you they were totally incorrect. I am almost 60 years old and I've never been treated so poorly in my life. They treated me more like a criminal then a customer who has already paid for their product. I ended up canceling and buying the same 10 TVs from a local competitor and saved myself $600!. I was notified that my order was ready for pick up. I went in and they scanned my bar code. For 45 minutes I stood as the store associate looked high and low for my order (a laptop). After numerous calls to other associates, and looking things up on the computer, I was informed my laptop could not be found. They identified the employee who received it, and the employee who picked the order but the order was no where to be found. So, the store associate said they would give me another laptop, 1 generation newer with a little more storage, to replace the one I ordered. After waiting for him to go get it, he came back to inform me that he couldn't override the system to give me the replacement laptop. BUT, if I wanted to pay an additional $109 I could buy it in lieu of the one they lost. Needless to say, I cancelled the order and walked out. What a fiasco! The manager of this store needs to right this ship, get an organized and efficient system in place for online orders and their pick up. read more

Best Buy runs a scam for its appliance delivery services through their 3rd party contractors. We bought a gas dryer and were told to buy about $70 in dryer parts in case they were needed during installation. Didn't seem like a big deal and we were told we could return them if they weren't needed. A third party contractor delivered the dryer and parts, but demanded $650 in additional service charges to install. When we refused to pay, they kept the order as "out for delivery" for over a month. After two visits to stores in Everett and Burlington to return these dryer parts, we keep being told to call the third party contractor to resolve the issue and that the store can't refund us unless it's marked "delivered." Well, you end up waiting for hours on the phone with this contractor and then they provide no resolution. They tell you "it will be marked as delivered tomorrow." Tomorrow comes, and they are still out for delivery. And then Best Buy refuses to accept the item for return. When I asked why can't you just accept the parts, give us the money (again, it's only around $70, not a huge amount) and handle the return for us, they refused. At this point, it's just the principal of the thing, but I'm just upset that they are attempting to scam customers. They've lost a loyal customer of decades over this. read more

I just purchased 2 large dollar gift cards, realized when I got home the receipt did not show any activation codes, I called the Burlington Store and held for 15min 1x and was disconnected, called back and held for another 20min when I hung up. Googled Customer Service Tel# and contacted them, waited the 15 min for a "live person" only to be placed in the Customer Service Circle jerk! Transferred to 2 different people neither of which could help me, was transferred a 3rd time and have been on hold for 15min so far. Will never buy from them again. read more

Great customer service. Purchased 4 tv's on Black Friday for our house that was being rebuilt after a fire. We just finally moved in, opened the tv's and the 2 large ones were broken. Ugh! I just purchased a 55" oled tv and sound bar as well as the total care for installation and disposal of my old set .. I decided to cancel the sound bar and purchase a nicer one , I cancelled it no problem and tried for 3 days to contact someone at the store but your sent to a call center in India I finally talked with someone and after 3 different people was told that if I ordered it over the phone they could not install it on the same day ( wich is 2 weeks away ) ? They said you'd be better off coming into the store to purchase it and see if they could do something .. I used to enjoy visiting this store, but every time I have gone lately I get bombarded by an Xfinity salesman while I am shopping. I don't know why this became the norm there.
