Hadn't been to the Colma store since I bought a 40" Sony Bravia way back in Nov. '09 for a new monitor. 16 years later I'm back in Colma. Full disclosure my BIL gave me his 50" LED LG 4 years ago. It's incredible to see how much prices has dropped in the past several years. As soon as I saw their 65" OLED LG I was smitten. I knew I would buy it. I spoke with the sales rep Donald and the man was godsend. He walked me through different models, Geek Squad, installation services and haul away options. He made it so simple to buy a TV. I was only there on a lunch break and he managed to get me out the door before I had to get back to the office. Kudos to him! Anyway, the store layout has changed so much since the last time I was in there (maybe 2019) and it looks totally different now. Good news, I was able to get the a new TV for an fantastic price. I bought a fitbit watch at Best Buy during Thanksgiving and today i wanted to exchange it for a different color. During the purchase date i was clearly told by employee I had a 90-day return or exchange. Now they said the holiday return ended January 14th. That's not 90 days. Why give false information? Also, employees are usually lazy and unhelpful. When you ask for help to locate items, they just point instead of actually assisting, even when they're not busy. Good products, but customer service makes every visit frustrating. read more

Jackie was wonderful at Geek Squad today. We werent sure if it made sense to have our computer fixed so he went through a lot of options and we weighed the best choice. Age of the machine, issue at hand, inital purchase price. Cost of the best buy program. At the end of the day it made more sense to just purchase a new machine and I felt good knowing we made the best choice with Jackies guidance. I think others would have just signed me up for a program that didnt make sense in my situation so Im glad he took the time to give a thorough analysis. Also, he was very friendly and professional. Geek squad service Went to Best Buy's Geek squad today in Colma. I was receiving virus protection spams. The manager looked at my notebook and deleted a couple of browsers. I couldn't believe that they didn't charge me for the service. It was a simple thing for him, but a major problem for me. 1 -- Extremely Frustrating Experience I went into Best Buy to purchase an item that was locked in a cabinet, and it was nearly impossible to get any assistance. I waited around for a long time, asked multiple employees for help, and still no one came to unlock it. It felt like no one was available or willing to assist. Terrible TV shopping experience. My wife and I were ready to purchase a Samsung 50inch TV. When we approached the rep Oscar, straight off the bat he was very rude and difficult to communicate with. He went to the back to look for one in stock. There wasn't so he came back to the kiosk to look at his computer, giving us no update. We asked "if you don't have one in stock it's okay" He snapped at me and said "I'm CHECKING with our warehouse right now" I decided that this was unacceptable. I just said: "you know what it's okay. I purchased a three pack of Insignia Lens Protection for my phone for $19.99, and one of the protectors was cracked and clearly had been used and returned as the sticky backing was gone. I called Colma Best Buy and they refused to refund me, or even give me a 33% discount, claiming that I had to return to the store in person. They would not accept a picture. The manager on the phone said that it was beyond his control because I did not buy it online, and the store has to perform the transaction even though the number I called was purportedly for the Colma store. He refused to connect me to the Colma store. As a registered Best Buy customer for over 20 years, totally unacceptable to expect me to drive (time and gas) to the store for a $19.99 product that they sold defective. read more

As I write this, I am number seven in the line for the one cashier, with five people behind me. Otherwise, it's stocked with all the things you would expect in a Best Buy from home audio to kitchen appliances, to television. If you're an aficionado of any one particular genre of electronics you would be better served going to a specialty store. UPDATE: I did purchase the dual 32's and a 43 inch 4K TV for my office. While the experience was still very positive, I was surprised that no employee offered to help me in the TV section. I had questions that ended up costing me about $100 more than I wanted to spend simply because I didn't want to take a chance on the TVs that I had questions about...so I went with a Samsung because all my household TVs are Samsungs and I know what I'm getting. Other than that, it was a good experience and the check-out team was just as good as what I write below. Originally posted review: A few years ago, I gave this store a super low rating after a really unprofessional experience and exchange I had with one of their employees. It was so bad, I completely stopped patronizing them and drove twice as far to a different store. Fast forward to now. A few weeks ago, I needed something electronic on a relatively short window. So short, in fact, that I couldn't use Amazon. The experience gave me reason to use them again. So, when I needed to update my router, I decided to buy it from Best Buy and from this location. The experience told me that I should update the review because it was VERY positive. We are building me an office in our backyard. I recently changed jobs and am going from a hybrid model where I work roughly 50-75 days from home each year to being fully remote. Because of that, I wanted to transition from a makeshift office to an actual one. Pushing my office out away from the house told me that I needed to update my wifi and get a system capable of handling both the distance and the speed I need. That meant I needed to go with a mesh wifi 7 system that had dedicated 6Mhz back-hauling as both my computers and mobile devices couldn't hold a strong and dedicated enough signal with my current setup. Because the WiFi 7 quad-band systems are ridiculously expensive, I went with a lessor known brand to save a few dollars. Big Mistake!!! The lessor known brand was impossible to install and very difficult to program using the manual mode and advanced settings. While I'm not an IT Guru, I'm pretty good and can do things most can't. But not with that system. Best Buy gave me NO trouble or issues of any kind when I went back to exchange the device that didn't work very well for a Netgear system (which BTW is AMAZING!!!). When they checked me in at the door, the employee asked me if I knew the one I wanted to exchange it for...then had the warehouse team bring it out for me. Next, when I checked out at the register, instead of forcing a full refund then a full re-purchase, the employee processed the transaction in a way that meant I only had to pay the difference. Simple and easy! My next purchase is going to be my new dual 32" monitors, and I plan to buy them from this store as they've renewed my trust that I will have positive shopping experiences going forward. read more

I normally don't write reviews, but I had a horrible experience with this Best Buy. I bought a new $700 monitor from this location. When i opened it at home the box had clearly been opened before. At first i thought they accidentally gave me an open box version, but then i realized it's not even the correct monitor inside. I don't understand how that even happens. I tried going to the San Francisco Best Buy, but they told me i had to go back to Colma. I went to Colma but the employees didn't believe me. They told me they'd have to go through a process and that they were closing soon. To make matters worse i had to drive under heavy rain. They still haven't exchanged the monitor or giving me my money back. I feel like Best Buy just stole $700 from me. Do not buy any products from Best Buy. You're much better off with Amazon. If you do decide to purchase from Best Buy, good luck if you ever need to return a product. They've wasted my time, energy and money and i will be suing. read more

My in store experience at the Colma location was horrible. I asked someone at a desk where I could find a monitor and before he would help me, he tried to aggressively sell me on the Best Buy credit card. Asking once is totally fine, I stood there patiently listening to his pitch. Totally okay. Then he increasingly became more aggressive and when I told him no, probably for the fifth time, he finally went to get the item I was looking for, but instead of handing it to me, he leaves it begrudgingly at the desk next to him. I'm not sure what kind of sales training this team is being put through or what kind of quota is being given to them, but hard sales does not work anymore in this day and age. Do not lose the few in store customers you have left by telling your sales team to be super aggressive. This is why people prefer to purchase things online which is what I will do from now on. read more

2.5 stars. Mom wanted to go to Best Buy last night, July 16, 2024, to purchase a keyboard for her computer, so we went along since we are in the market for a mini fridge and computers. For a minute, I forgot that they closed the San Bruno location, inadvertently telling her that they are practically down the street from us at first. Good thing that this locale in Colma is still just minutes away from our house. We arrived a few minutes before 7 PM and easily found a space in the private parking lot. Upon entry, I was immediately greeted by an attendant with a warm "Hello." The venue was brightly lit and appeared tidy. To my pleasant surprise, even the women's restroom looked clean for the most part, too. I walked straight to the Appliance department and found only one mini fridge on the floor. The area was empty of salespersons, so I returned to the front to ask for help. They were understaffed, so there were lines and wait times to get help everywhere. I was told that what I saw was all that they had. I expressed my confusion over the website indicating that several other mini refrigerators were available to pick up. This is when I learned that all of the others were in the warehouse, but boxed in their original packaging and not available for viewing. Seriously?? Who wants to blindly purchase an appliance without checking it out in person first? Not me. The sole fridge on the floor, priced at $299, was a good value, especially for its size, but I was not going to jump on it, knowing that there are so many more options available that offer other features. Apparently, this has been their set up for at least the past twelve years. Wow. I was ready to purchase a small fridge, but Best Buy lost my business. V also could not find any PCs with more than 32 gigabytes. He did not want to join the line to inquire, especially after hearing that wait times had been as long as an hour. AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE! I ordered a set of earphones on 12/2 and the order said it would be delivered by 12/12, just in time for Christmas. I waited over a month for no update and eventually a cancelled order (they cancelled it without notice). During that month I stopped by in-store, I called, I went online and they either had no update for me or lied to me about my order shipping soon. I had to end up buying the same item from Amazon (they delivered it in 48 hours) and paid the same price. This Best Buy location There were very few employees on the floor, and despite waiting 30 minutes in a designated section for assistance, no one came to help. I went to the register without the item since I already knew what I wanted, only to be told I had to find someone on the floor. After walking around half the store, I finally found an employee who then directed me to someone in another department. While explaining my needs, multiple employees interrupted me mid-sentence to speak on their walkie talkies, and one younger woman completely ignored me to help another customer while I was actively speaking. This was some of the worst customer service I've experienced in a long time, and I don't plan to return to this location. I'd rather pay for shipping than deal with this again. read more

She went above and beyond to find us the iPad pen that was older iPad version 9 and it was not displayed as being in stock. She even researched other retailers nearby as we needed this item for the following day for a 10-year-old that was counting on it. It turns out that buried underneath the existing display stock there was one loan pen, still available. This location sucks. I don't think the owner/managers are involved here at all. I came to purchase a phone for my dad and I asked 3 different employees for help and all of them said someone is coming to help, 25 minutes pass and no one comes to help. I heard one employee ask his colleague "Do you want to help them," to which his colleague replied "No." This is why you don't hire a bunch of lazy teenagers to run a business. We had bought a Samsung Bespoke refrigerator. We were having problems with the delivery of the custom panels. We were on the phone for hours with their call center and still did not have a clear explanation as to why our order was delayed. We had no choice but to go to a local store and file a complaint. We walked in stoked ready for me to get a laptop for school: 1) the front of the store greeter didn't greet us 2) there was 1 person in the computer area didn't make eye contact with us, didn't greet us, NADA, I even went to take my daughter to the bathroom which brings me to number 3) Bathroom had NO SEAT hygiene protector and the big stall had a big deuce in it and not been flushed! My daughter and I almost puked and she decided to hold her pee in until she got home and we live all the way in EPA Back to number 2; we went back again and the guy was still helping out the same person for over 30-40 minutes since we got there, probably even longer! At least the promo people talking about AT&T were doing their jobs and greeting us asking us about who we used for internet etc, they did a better job than the actual Best Buy workers. Sad because we spend so much as Best Buy we probably would have had that computer guy go beyond his quota if we had one. Planned on buying 2 laptops but definitely not going back there anymore. I give it 0 stars and red negative do not shop here symbols if there were any! So disappointing at Best Buy for not properly training their staff. There was even an Asian lady falling asleep waiting too! Maybe the Best Buy staff was racist because it was even when he realized the customer he helped was Spanish speaking, he even took longer! My husband and I walked in Colma Best Buy I saw Apple Watch on sale decided to make a purchase. The guy at the counter next to watches and iPhones etc...we showed him the Apple Watch and wanted it to see. He said he will be right back he will need to go into the back room. He took 35 minutes to get the watch after we purchased the watch we went home and my husband travels to Hawaii he said the watch needed it to charge every 30 minutes, he was pissed and upset with the sales person at Bestbuy I think he's name is Alex not sure if that's correct name but we figured it he took a long time to get the watch from the back. He probably sold us a used watch. I will never ever buy another thing from Best Buy again. Bad sales person and a crook at that wasted over $300. Today I went into Colma Best Buy to return a Wacom drawing tablet. I bought 4 items online, when purchasing and we replace a different type of Wacom during that time. Today when showing the receipt immediately the first person was already having an attitude as if he didn't want to help us out. Because of the confusion of the receipt( they made the tablet in a separate transaction so it was on a different digital receipt.) He called for his manager. Whispered something to him right in front of us. The manager attitude was no different when approaching and gave us the attitude as I am scamming. No thank you, no have a good day. The hospitality was horrible and gave me anxiety because I felt profiled instantly. Ruin my experience. I hope best buy trains their employees on hospitality even during confusing moments to give customers the best experience.
