In the past few years I've purchased a TV and Surface from this store. I had some issues with connecting the Google TV and scheduled them to come out. It was well worth the charge. The technican was professional and noticed some other issues, askingif I wanted to fix them. YES! Today I came in to get Geek Squad help with a newly purchased Android. Don't buy a "unlocked" phone here. I bought an unlocked iPhone and brought it down to spectrum mobile, who told me the phone was locked. I called Best Buy who confirmed that yes, the phone was locked. When I came back to return it they would not waive the $50 restocking fee. So to read that back: they sold me the wrong product, there was no way to know it was the wrong product without opening it, and then when I brought it back they charged me because it was opened Neat way to make 50 bucks and lose a customer forever. read more

I use a Fitbit Luxe to track my sleep statistics. My Fossil hybrid smartwatch tracks my daily steps and sleep, but it oddly doesn't sync my sleep stats to our corporate fitness app. Weird! I am used to wearing both my watch and Fitbit at night. It was strange at first. When I attempted to charge my Fitbit Luxe at the start of this trip, nothing happened. After plugging it into multiple USB outlets around my hotel room, I deemed my charging cable dead. The following day, I decided to drive over to this Best Buy, which is a five-minute drive away from the hotel. It's across from Kyoto Sushi. There was plenty of parking. I backed into a spot and walked in. I found the Fitbit section. I only saw a charger for the Versa. Nooo! A bit sad, I left the section. A male staff member approached me and asked if I needed any help. I let him know that I was looking for a Luxe charging cable, but didn't see one. We headed to the Fitbit section. Yep, I wasn't losing my mind. There wasn't one. He pulled out his phone and looked at the inventory. He said that be could ship it to me. I let him know that I wasn't a local and wanted to pick it up. The estimated pickup time was a week later on a Saturday, a couple of days before I headed home. I was good with it. He led me over to a payment area smack in the middle of the store, by the Dyson products. There was a desk with seats, so we sat down to arrange shipment to the store. Since I wasn't a local, we used the hotel address as mine. I also gave him my local cell number, to get text messages about my order. I paid with a credit card. All went well. I also got an e-mail confirmation about my order. I thanked the man for his help and contently left the store with my receipt. On Wednesday, I received a notification that my order was ready to be picked up. It arrived early! After work, I returned to this store. When you enter the store, the pickup counter is on the right. You basically confirm through the e-mail or text message that you are at the store and a barcode appears. I approached the counter and had a nice man fetch my order after he scanned the barcode. He gave me my little box containing the cable. I thanked him and wished him a great day. He reciprocated. This store has superb customer service. It's frankly unusual for any Best Buy! My charging cable works like a charm. My sleep stats are back, syncing up correctly with all my apps. I'd come back here to shop again. It was enjoyable doing a bit of browsing. They made it worse! I'm in my final semester of grad school. I brought my laptop to Geek Squad because it was occasionally blue screening but was mostly an annoyance that I didn't want to get worse. They said they changed the ram stick because it was acting "weird". When I got it back it kept crashing and looping on the HP boot screen. It stopped blue screening but this was worse. Had to hard reset multiple times before it would work again. Yesterday it blue screened and when it restarted, it spent the whole night on that loop. Now I'm bringing it to a different one in hopes that they'll right the wrongs of this one since we have the care plan. After keeping it for 3 days I really expected better results. read more

I would give them zero stars if I could. I had an appointment for 3:40 today after a long day. I was on a tight schedule. They Geek in charge at the desk said "take a seat". I asked how long it would be and he said 5 or 10 min. There was only 2 guys out there helping people but 4 or 5 just walking around ignoring those of us waiting. I finally asked one of them if anyone else was working. He went in the back room and came out saying yes. I said can someone help me and he left and didn't come back. Yet I still saw two or three of them standing inside the back room door just chatting and laughing. This is not a professional crew and they certainly have no customer service training. The guy in charge continued to stand at the counter doing nothing and never followed up with me. I left after 40 min. I live right by that Best Buy but hadn't been in for a couple years. I needed an hdmi extender to use the Roku I just purchased. Ayden approached to help, but was clueless at first. After explaining three times, he suggested an hdmi expansion box. When I explained my concerns with DRM and other issues, and that I just needed a short extender for roku to fit - he became argumentative and hostile. I'm done with Best Buy. I had a great experience here! I just moved back to Minnesota and needed a new microwave. Braxton was SO helpful. I had an idea of what I wanted, but he found an even more perfect microwave for me at a much cheaper price. Because of him I actually have a microwave that fits on my counter, rather than one that wouldn't have. And to top it off, he was really fast, so I was able to get home sooner after a long day. Our home Best Buy. Really, 1st review? Well, ok. We used to go to Bloomington, but way to crazy busy & had to stop when all the construction was going on. This location became our new favorite. The location is good, large parking lot, near other electronic chains so you can check prices & models easily. Best Buy has them beat usually. Especially when you include the knowledgable staff, service warranties, and ease of return or exchange. If you are asking serious questions, go during the weekdays, during the day. Weekends tend to have the less experienced staff that may not have all the knowledge & business saavy of more experienced staff. read more

Chatted with Terry P. online just a few minutes ago, requesting a quote to replace a cracked digitizer screen on an iPad2. I asked twice for a price for a replacement screen. The standard answer was: "you must come into any Best Buy location for an inspection" and he refused to provide me a quote. Their web site clearly states "Consult & Quote". I was desperately in need of a printer to print some important documents from my computer. As my HP printer "died", I went to BB and was after a long wait allowed access to the store. The printer that was recommended to me would not connect to my computer, despite spending a great deal of time troubleshooting as did my son. I tried just printing a copy and the printer jammed time and time again. The lid to the printer was broken off when I brought it home but thought I could live with that, given the hassle of even purchasing. I finally called the Geed Squad as I have a contract for service. I was given a time but then the agent called that AM and said he only worked on home entertainment. Despite all of my efforts, have not been able to reschedule another tech. So the printer is sitting in the trunk of my car planning to return it to the Robert St store which I learned is now closed. As the library is closed I am at a loss as to how to get these documents printed. Disgusted and fed up. read more

This is in reference to BEST BUY GEEK SQUAD. I would never return to Geek Squad again. I dropped my computer off and walked out spending $252.00 for the service and an external hard drive in the event they could back up everything. I rec'd a call that my computer was done. when I called back to inquire what they had done, Dan told me that everyone with Geek Squad was busy and that someone from the store would call me back so we could decided what to do with my computer. I never rec'd a call back, however in the next 48 hours I received 7 automated phone calls from an 800 number telling me to go pick it up. when I went to pick it up, I was told that everything was backed up and I needed a new hard drive. I opted not to install a new hard drive, but rather take my time and research/buy a new lap top. I asked that they show me or verify what was dowloaded on the hard drive, so I knew what I spent 252.00 on . . I was told they cannot do this. I left with my computer and the external hard drive that everything was supposed to be backed up on. The next day, I tried the external hard drive on two seperate computers, as I needed a document off of it. There was nothing there. I called Best Buy Geek Squad and they walked me how to download everything. I assured them that nothing was there and I was following their directions. It was quite clear from the man's tone, that he didn't believe I was following his direction and he todl me to bring it in so he could show me. The next night I went into Geek Squad with my computer and external hard drive. I explained what happened and I was told by a different gentleman that, YES, indeed they can verify what was backed up. Turned out nothing was backed up . . it was right in the file, that they couldn't even get the hard drive to boot up, so they couldn't move anything to the external. I should have been refunded my money for the external when I went in to pick up my computer, but they failed to read the file and sent me home thinking I had all my photos, docs and music and then made me feel like an idiot on the phone becasue they thought I couldn't follow directions to download from and external drive. Well they did do a full refund, however, I am still upset over how many failures there were in this whole process . . and my personal time spent driving back and forth, speaking to them on the phone, and sitting in line at the store. This Best Buy has been super for me since it opened. The men/women really know their stuff----and are so helpful. If there isn't someone in that particular department--they will call someone down for you who arrives right away. I'm very impressed with the expertise each person has in their own area. I've asked scores of questions,have purchased many things and have no need to go anywhere else---which is a good feeling and makes it so easy. Once in a great while I will get someone who is not quite as helpful---maybe doesn't know as much---so I end up ending the conversation. Then later talk to someone who is very knowledgeable. I hope financially this business is booming----when I'm buying a computer,printer,camera,tv etc I need to talk to someone a while,compare,get their opinion etc and I have that here. read more

After a miserable experience at Target dealing with clueless uncaring associates, we decided to try shopping at the Eagan store a few days ago to find a computer that fit our needs at home. The customer service was excellent and the associates who helped us were knowledgeable and friendly, without high-pressure sales pitch. They helped us find the perfect laptop, IN STOCK, and at a good price. Also found a good printer at a great price. We are Amazon Prime members and, although it's sometimes convenient to shop online, some online vendors have horrible or totally unavailable customer service! And returning/shipping a product can cost more than the item itself! So glad there is a nearby brick & morter store to access. read more

I typically like this Best Buy, the service is typically good and I can typically find what I'm looking for. This afternoon, however, I walked in with my sister-in-law to exchange a phone case since she was errantly told the one she bought earlier would fit her phone. The man at the front was really cocky and sassy. He greeted us asked what we needed and was very condescending to myself and my sister-in-law-- he went so far as to ask if she put the case on backwards... As in put the phone in the case screen first... If he was trying to be funny it failed and he was actually offensive. I'm disappointed that I didn't catch his name or I'd fill out the survey on the receipt. Unpleasant experience... Don't use the Eagan Best Buy Geek Squad! Use Twin Cities PC Repair in Eagan on Blue Gentian road instead. I received MUCH better, more professional service from them. They have more mature employees and can respond much more quickly, with lower prices! I called Geek Squad from the parking lot of the Eagan Best Buy on 6/18, Thursday with my broken computer in the car. I asked the Geek Squad consultant if I could do a curbside drop and leave the computer there and get a repair quote if I left it for a couple of weeks. The Best Buy store's employee refused to take the computer and do a quote. I went to Twin Cities PC Repair right after this. They were super accommodating and very professional. The prices they quoted me were much lower than the prices quoted from Geek Squad. All the employees are wearing a mask and they showed me how they clean the PC prior to returning it to you. An excellent experience with mature, intelligent individuals at Twin Cities PC Repair, a horrible experience with the young, uncaring, robotic fools at Best Buy. read more

My name is Dennis and I just read the previous reviews and as such I fee that I need to say something about Best Buy in Eagan; They are GREAT... It always seems that a few people go out of their way to find something to complain about, so I thought this time I would actually go out of my way to discuss my experience and I only do this because the team at the Eagan, Ryan, Brian and Kurt, have always gone out of their way to take care of any problem that may come up from time to time... You see I am a business owner and as such I not only use Best Buy in Eagan on a personal level but also that of a professional level as well. The decisions that I make as an owner can either make or break both my company and my employee's careers. I have been doing business at Best Buy for over 5 years now and the fact is the service there has been, for the most part, excellent at times and on occasion not quite excellent (usually due to no fault of the stores)... Yes, the reality is, in business NOBODY is perfect. I know that you expect everyone to be but the fact is nobody is. You also have to remember something else, as the rule says, for every action there is a reaction and as such people may want to ask themselves if they came in with a good attitude or bad attitude. Perhaps if you had a bad experience you were just getting back what you were dishing out... As for me, I am happy to wake up every day and be on the right side of the dirt. As such I try to remember that and treat everyone with respect. From my experience if you adhere to that rule most time you usually get the same in return. Maybe even try this exercise; the next time you want to write a complaint about someone try to first think of another person or entity that you can write a thank you letter to. If you can't think of one maybe it's because you are just having a bad day and as I said earlier you are just reaping what you have sown.... So the next time you have an issue please try to remember to be happy that you are on the right side of the dirt and maybe then you can find a way to make both your life and others around you just a little bit better... read more

Geek Squad - Worst place for computer support. Normally, I am an understanding person; things happen. However, twice now, I've made appts and had to wait. Twice, I've taken in my computer to have looked at and had all of my data and programs wiped. Both times they're comment was "oops" and "you should have had us do a backup". One time I told them (It was written on the paperwork) not to restore Windows becaue it would erase all of my data and programs and I didn't have it backed up. What did they do, restore Windows and try to blame it on me. The next time (same computer) I had to take it in because it wouldn't even turn on. I asked them to call me if they would have to erase my data. Nope. They erased it then told it me it was my fault for not having them do a backup at $250. Did I mention I custom ordered my computer from them in January of this year? Did I mention that I was going to school for an IT degree. Everything I requested was resonable and able to be done. They just don't care about the customer. Just getting that money for the backup. Please! Go somewhere, ANYWHERE else. Do not trust them!!! read more

Customer service is a joke it's literally set up to piss you off I called in to ask a question hold time was 13 min the automated system said they would call back so I don't have to wait great 15 min later I get a call back immediately placed on hold for 10 min at this point I'm laughing at the irony I then get someone who can't help he then transfers me to someone that can 5 min on hold I screenshot the time and the phone hangs up I can't make this stuff up I then get a call back weird and the lady can't help me she says she wants to put me on hold and I quote 2-3 min I laugh and tell her I'm recording the call and she gets upset tells me she's going to hang up and proceeds to tell me to have a great night and click this is the reason as a first time and last time customer I will never do business with you guys or affiliates ever again! read more

The Geek Squad ,at Best buy is the worst possible customer service team imaginable. AFter waiting my turn in line I informed the geek behind the counter I was in a hurry and wanted to drop off the machine.I informed them that I had a service plan.He then went aboiut trying to boot windows ,and checking this and that,I again informed him I didnt have time to watch him wait for the machine to fire up ,and just check it in. this person was not listening to me "the customer" as in customer service. he then left to help someone else . mean while I informed another employee that I was in a hurry and wanted to leave my machine not sit and wait around . my orginal guy comes back and starts telling me how they dont work on hardware issues,as he was removing the back of the machine to pull out ram cards isnt that hardware wtf ,so he then informs me that they will have to shipp it to service center for repair. I informed him thats what I wanted a half an hour ago,and thank you for paying attention to my needs,as I am now going to be late for my next meeting. thta is when the geek got upset and started talking over me .no longer listening to what i wanted at all they didnt check in the machine or check on my service plan that cover my machine all in all I say BOOO bad service bad attitude poor performance , with kind of customer service i dont see how they stay in bussiness I will take my money elsewhere as should you read more

I received terrible treatment by store manager and Geek Squad employee, only solution that was offered was to refund money on a gift card for a protection plan. Never offered to resolve issue in any other way told me repeatedly that I signed a 20 page document at time of purchase that in small print had a statement that screwed me. Never again Best Buy. An apology would have been nice at the very least, instead I was talked down to like an idiot, train your staff on how to explain things and not just sell services like they cover everything. I will never return to this location again. The people were so rude. The customer service was terrible. I was returning 2 iPhone cases. The first guy I walked up to at customer service was on the phone and ignored me for a good 15 min. No one else was behind the customer service desk. When he got off the phone he told me to go around the corner and wait for someone over there. So I waiting another 15 min for someone to help. Not one person behind the customer service desk. When the lady finally got up there she was so rude and tried to talk me out of returning the product. I may have listened had I not had to wait 30 min for a task that took 1 min. Every time I visit this location I'm disappointed. It is a nice best buy inside and out but the employees are what disappoint me. About a week ago I went there and headed over to the car audio department. A few employees looked over at me and didn't say anything. I had to walk over to the center help desk area and ask for someone to help me so I could buy some new speakers. They said go wait over there and someone will be over there shortly. I wait for 10 mins then go over to the TV area and ask again and once again I was told to wait over there. I wait about 5 more minutes and I guy walks buy and I ask him to help me and he says he's just going to the bathroom and that he'll have someone come over. He gets done from the bathroom walks by me again kinda surprised I haven't been helped yet and says to me again he will get someone to help me out. 15 minutes go buy and I'm fed up with waiting for someone when I see 3 employees currently not helping anyone. As I leave the store I'm asked if I found what I was looking for, I told her yes but nobody would help me out so I couldn't buy anything! I then stormed out before she could say anything else already frustrated and enough for one day. On today's trip I came back to the car audio department. (Having already purchased my speakers elsewhere) I was looking for an amp wiring kit, I don't know very much about them but this guy helping me knew less. I think he realized he was making a fool out of himself and rushed me to make my purchase. First he was trying to sell me straight speaker wire after I told him I needed an amp wiring kit. Then I said I wanted a 8 or 4 gauge wiring kit and he could not tell me what the difference was from the available kits. I ended up just picking one because he started talking about HDMI cables and I just wanted it to end. After I finally get home I open up the box with a nice blanket of dust on it to find all the included fuses are missing. I have to make another trip back to exchange the item now and hopefully all goes smooth. Please best buy do something about your service in the car audio department. I can't speak for all departments because I didn't browse any other areas, but the car audio is rather disappointing to say the least. read more

I just got home from the Best Buy in Eagan. I found three otter boxes I wanted online but decided to go in store to purchase instead, I should've bought online and picked up in the store in an hour. The young man checking us out was helpful but didn't seem to have all the answers for us as we had to price match from BestBuy.com for a lower price. After he calls the first manger over who helped and ran off and had to be called over again only to run away again. Another manager came over and as much as I wish I could say she was extremely helpful, Nicole, the second manager, ended up being the rudest person there. She acted as though she was doing me a favor when the lower price was on their website! She tells us she can grant a one time exception for us to get the lower price. No, that's your damn job to grant me the Best Buy, especially when it's on your website. Upon getting back home I went back on the website and realized I STILL PAID $10.71 more than I should've!! So a quick little shopping experience turns to aggravation because someone, Nicole, doesn't want to work on Sunday's I guess! Get the hell out of retail and the idiot whom hired you as the "Manager" obviously should be canned also because she has zero customer service experience or helpfulness. Worst shopping experience ever!! I should've used my better judgment and shopped at Amazon.
