I scheduled a TV delivery and installation and was really looking forward to getting everything set up, but what should have been simple turned into a week of no-shows, missed calls, and broken promises. I never received the confirmation call I was promised. The next day I was told I'd be contacted again -- no call. My appointment was rescheduled for Sunday morning, but no one ever arrived. I kept being told I'd get callbacks within an hour or within 24 hours, but none of them ever happened. I even visited the store twice hoping to finally get answers. Each time I was reassured that the issue was "expedited," yet no one followed up. I spent more than an hour on hold with customer service, and the escalation calls disconnected before I could even get a case number. It honestly felt like no department was taking responsibility or even noticing how much time I was losing. What's most disappointing is how disheartening the whole process has been. Title: Extremely Disappointed - Best Buy Botched My Amp Install and Cost Me Hundreds I've been a loyal Best Buy customer for years, spending tens of thousands of dollars on gear and installs but after this experience, I'm done. I went in for what should've been a straightforward amplifier installation. Instead, I got a rushed, careless job from an installer named Josh, who wired the remote line to constant power leaving my amp on 24/7. This had killed my car battery the next morning sending me into an absolute rage. His initial solution was to unplug and re plug in fuses on the amp because it was run to constant power when the car was off it sent my amp into protect mode enough times that it killed it, and I had to throw it away. (When the car is off and the amp is receiving power constantly it will damage the amp, and this was all due to incorrect wiring ALL AMPS SHOULD BE WIRED TO ACCESSORY PORT IN FUSE BOX VIA REMOTE CABLE!!!) When I questioned it, he brushed me off, saying "that's just how it is," even though I knew it wasn't right. He then told me he had another customer to help. Sorry, but I paid for this service I shouldn't be penalized because your staff is overbooked or undertrained. To fix the mess, I was sent 45 minutes away (each way!) to the Florence, KY location. There, I worked with Drake, who was professional and courteous. He corrected the wiring issue, but due to time constraints, we couldn't finish everything. I ended up having to complete part of the job myself something that should've taken them just a few minutes. To make matters worse, Best Buy refused to honor the original work because they claimed my amp was "damaged" and a "fire hazard" due to a screw not tightening properly. Funny, because everything was working fine before I brought it in. The end result? I had to buy a new amp ($430), new speaker ports ($20), and pay $160 for installation. No compensation. No accountability. And after all that? I still had to manually tune the amp myself with a friend because they left it on basic settings. The only bright spot was Drake, who genuinely tried to help and stayed late to do so. But this entire ordeal has made it clear: either Best Buy's installers are under unrealistic time pressure, or they're not properly trained. Either way, it's the customer who pays literally. I was simply trying to verify whether the store had stock on an item and whether it was available to be purchased with the "No Tax Weekend" promotion. First, I had to try to navigate through the AI voice prompts which constantly sent me around in circles. I purchased a remote car starter for my 78-year-old mother for Christmas. She got lost finding the Eastgate location and was 4 minutes late for her installation appointment. The tech, Connor, refused to do the installation, pointing at his watch and noting the time. This is incredibly frustrating and concerning that an employee would not provide an elderly woman a bit of grace. I can't think of a single other place of business that would deny service due to 4 minutes. Absolutely ridiculous. I'm a working mom and don't have a lot of free time to drive to the store and talk to a manager, which seems to be the only way to file a complaint with Best Buy. Store Manager "Wilson" refused to sell me a laptop computer that is on display on the sales floor. Item is discontinued, they will not be getting more. Shows online as Unavailable, yet, there's one on display for sale, right there in the store, but they REFUSE TO SELL IT. I read to Wilson Ohio Administrative Code Rule 109:4-3-03: Bait advertising/unavailability of goods. (B) Bait advertising: It shall be a deceptive and unfair act or practice for a supplier to make an offer of sale of any goods or services when such offer is not a bona fide effort to sell such goods or services. An offer is not bona fide if: (3) A supplier discourages the purchase or sale of the offered goods or services by any means, including but not limited to the following: (a) The refusal to show, demonstrate or sell the offered goods or services in accordance with the terms of the offer. After a bunch of straight years of continuing to have great experiences with my yearly phone upgrade I want to update my review. I come to Best Buy mostly to pre order, then pickup the new Galaxy phone each year. I chose to do this at Best Buy because these guys are knowledgeable, not commissioned, and offer better perks as opposed to going to the Verizon Store that is right next door. They really have no skin in the game as they offer all carriers and phones, so they can honestly give you the best recommendations for plans too. They do not rush you either. The process of phone pre-order is quick and easy. They explain everything to you clearly. Full tax on the phone and payoff of the old phone (if applicable) is required on that day. The tax is eligible to earn rewards. The order is placed for the phone to be available for release day. The night before release day I generally get an email letting me know my order is ready for pickup. On release day you arrive, they retrieve your new phone, and they proceed to transfer everything from the old phone. If you are trading in (which I recommend) they take care of all of that for you as well! They will even give you helpful tips for the new phone! If you wish to get a screen protector they will apply it for you. I have never had a single issue doing it this way. I cannot say the same for going to Verizon. Save yourself a headache and just come here for your cell phone needs! During the Pandemic, safety is observed here well. read more

Lowering review after 2 bad pick-up appointments. Today had me fuming. I ordered a TV online for pickup. I received the notification for pickup. I went to the space and followed their procedures. After 15 minutes went to the service desk/pick-up desk/Cashier. They have it all in one now. The employee told me they have been very busy in the store. Note the only person in line was a Customer who parked next to me and eventually walked in to pick-up his item. I asked when I was going to get my TV. He said he wouldn't talk to me unless I calmed down. I was very reasonable. I told him that he might as well hand it to me. There was another employee working behind him; I believe bringing items for pickup. The store parking lot was very empty. I did see a few people in the store. I asked to see the store manager. Meanwhile the other employee went to find my TV and came out with it on a cart. He was very nice and helped put it in my car. I went back in and spoke to the store manager. He claimed they never got notified that I was waiting for my pickup. Best Buy gave me a 4 digit code immediately upon arriving that I had to share with the employee before he put it in my car. I don't know who is telling the truth or how the store is notified. I surely was given a code. Was the front desk person not doing his job and ignored notifications. Interestingly the store manager sits at a counter when you walk in. I said didn't anyone notice a car there. He said people normally park there so they ignore the cars. I said those spaces are off to the side and there are many open spaces. Not a good way to run the business. I could have received the same TV for the same price on Amazon but am nervous with electronics being delivered by 3rd parties. Too many bad experiences over the years and especially this year. I have had an Echo devise downstairs for 6-months now, so having another upstairs was my goal once BB placed a great bundle on their Black Friday Sale this week. After I purchased, an Echo / $5.00 BLINK Camera bundle, I told my Boyfriend and he purchased the same bundle. Then, Sunday night I decided to purchase another Echo/Blink bundle for my 66 y.o. sister in California. So, I typed in her L.A./CA address for delivery of the Echo, and click Pick-Up @ Store for the Blink Camera. I even had my Boyfriend (Witness) sitting there watching the transaction as we enjoyed dinner. Well, as I Curbside picked up, because we are in a Pandemic and I am at risk, I was handed the bag of both products. Before I could even wrap my head around the situation, the young male sales clerk hurried back into the store, because it was 10 minutes before the store closure. So, despite my intention to stay Curbside, I was forced to enter the Store to correct BB's website error. I proceed to share the situation with the Young Asian Female Sales Clerk, she was quite helpful, and proceed to Right-The-Wrong. She returned the item, and re-ordered, place the shipping address into the system, and then BAM, I owed $1.24 because of the sales tax difference from OH/CA. It all went down-hill from there. I DO NOT care about the $$$, I care about Customer Service and the system working as presented. I had two (2) rude, young, inexperienced Customer Service Sales Clerk, basically tell me, a long-time customer, I did something wrong. I am very happy with BB in totality, but these two male sales person, need more training. I told them both there was No area during checkout where I read click, "Mail to this Address." They are incorrect!!! I checked the Mobile app & desktop view this morning. The ONLY statement which resembles their false statement is, "Remember this information for next time." I didn't want my sister's address in my profile for next time. These two young male sales clerks told me over & over, I did the online order wrong. Instead of saying, "Ma'am I don't know what happen, but let's make it right." Never did I hear this from either. I paid the $1.24 which is nothing compared to the Expensive Lesson I learned last night about how two (2) Best Buy inexperienced sales clerk 'attempted' to convenience a customer that she did something incorrect to justify BB's substandard technologic glitch. All the two clerks could say to me was, "I can't do anything about Sales Tax". So I said, discount my Item $1.24? "No can't do that either." Don't tell a customer what you can't do, show them what you Can! They NEVER NEVER offered a solution. "Just give us $1.24. or return the item." Really? With Age, comes Experience and the two young male sales clerks have very little customer service experience. Low and behold, the woman pulling the items double and triple checked she was grabbing what I was pointing at, and still pulled the wrong items. We were buying security cameras for an urgent situation, and were sold battery extension packs. By the time I got home to hook the cameras up, it was 30 minutes before closing. I called the store, the woman who answered decided to transfer me to a line that immediately hung up on me stating they weren't open instead of speaking with me herself. My husband and I went to the store to order 2 TVs and get them installed. We asked for them to deliver, install, and move a TV we currently have hanging on a wall and move it to a different room. They gave us a delivery and install date, then cancelled it last minute without a reason why. My husband rescheduled for a few days later, and because we didn't get a message as to time of delivery, he looked online and it said no delivery was in the system, which is impossible since he spoke to someone. He then called and, after getting disconnected while speaking to someone, they made him reschedule for 2 days later. Not accepting this I went to the store and spoke to a manager, who then, with me pressuring him, called some delivery people to get this moved up to installation tomorrow. We've been doing some upgrades in our home over the past year so we decided to take advantage of the Best Buy credit card. You can choose between 5% back on purchases or 6 months financing. My husband particularly loves the open box option and we have been lucky enough to get great quality, like new items for a slight discount. Over the past year, we've bought a couple Sonos speakers, AppleTV, a hair dryer, a dehumidifier, two TVs and a chromebook. Every experience has been great. We typically take advantage of the order online, pickup in store option. When our items are ready, we haven't ever had to wait more than 5 minutes to get our items from the cage behind the registers. It is also quite easy to make credit card payments in store. Recently, we were looking for a new TV for our screen porch and Jeremy did a wonderful job of explaining everything we needed to know about the logistics of outdoor TVs. Luckily my husband could keep up but I could not... Jeremy is super smart and he belongs in a position like this! Match made in electronic heaven. Yes, there's less DVDs and CDs as years past but my family is happy with this location and our products. read more

Welp..I have been wondering for a while what it would take for me to finally give up on Best Buy..and this store has figured it out. They recently remodeled, which included completely re figuring their checkout area. They decided it was a good idea to go from about 8 registers to just 3..and then moving the order-pickup area over to the checkout area to act as a possible additional 2 registers. On slower days they only have the order pickup registers open for both order pickup and checkout. Now..who's brilliant idea was this exactly? With the old checkout the way it was I would always still complain about having to wait 10-15 minutes sometimes even when there was only a customer or two in front of me. Now, adding to that to have to wait to check out while the employees scramble to find pick-up orders that not only seem to not be organized in any way, but also involve (as Best Buy is known best for) an overly complicated system of getting said merchandise to the customer. So basically anyone dumb enough to actually just want to shop here normally will have to wait an extra what 5-10 minutes per customer in front of them. I stood there yesterday in line for at least 15 minutes (one customer in front of me) with $80 plus dollars of stuff I wanted to buy wondering "why am I doing this?" "why am I spending all this money here almost every week when they could care less about taking care of their customers?" I finally don't have an answer to that question so I am going to stop shopping here. Maybe if I am in the area and have nothing better to do..but no way am I buying my weekly movies here anymore. Bottom Line: They don't care about their customers. When this happens a business is doomed. We live in Mariemont which isn't super far from Eastgate, but enough of a drive that it might deter me from going out there too often. But if I need something electronics related I am happy to make the trek to find it at Best buy. We shopped around for our washer and dryer and found the ones we were looking for were cheapest a Best Buy. Plus the fact that the staff don't work on commission makes a huge difference in that they don't drive you crazy following you around the store pressuring you into buying something. You can take your time, browse and if you have questions or need help, they are available. Plus with our rewards from buying the washer/dryer combo we got a nice gift certificate to buy a bunch of movies and CDs. read more

We purchased a high-end 55" LG TV at this Best Buy. The sales clerk was helpful and said the TV we were purchasing was top of the line and a high quality product. As we all know, getting a TV of this size is quite the process both to get home, unpack, set-up to cable, etc... Unfortunately, two weeks into having the TV, a portion of the screen went black. We called Best Buy to see if they could swap it out (come to pick up the dysfunctional one and replace with a new one at our house, to save us the time and inconvenience). Much to our surprise, the store said WE would have to take it all back apart, box it up, clear out our car and bring it back to the store to have the delight of doing the process all over again with the replacement TV. So we got to waste 3 hours out of our Saturday. So here's why they get 2-stars. After the whole fiasco of purchasing a high-end tv that turned out to be a dud within two weeks, the store refused to drop off a new tv and pick up the old one (they would, but only for a fee). Nope. However, after returning the tv to the store the team leader said that they could've swapped it at our house (funny, because my husband called 2 times to ask that exact question and they said no). So Best Buy gave us bad information 2 times, wasted 3 hours of our Saturday and aren't even willing to offer any real recompense for the frustration and inconvenience they caused. I have just had a horrific experience with Best Buy. I purchased a washer last weekend which was supposed to be delivered Tuesday. I waited for 4 hours then they called and said sorry it's not on the truck. Then after multiple texts and emails from them, I ended up being scheduled to have the installation on Thursday and the washer on Friday. Not sure how that will work! They changed to today. The delivery person broke off the faucet when installing and the water for the house needed to be turned off. Best Buy's response is sorry we can't help you. Our insurance will call in 2-3 business days. See ya! After calling the customer service line I was told they would compensate me by taking off the charge to remove the old washer. We were helped promptly by someone who helped us find the model we were looking for. Without us even asking, the employee volunteered to do a price check, looked online, and took $30 off the price, and then apologized for not being able to get it lower. DVD's, CD's, stereo equipment, computers, printers, video games, TV's, you name it, this is where you can get it. And usually at a pretty inexpensive price. I've bought DVD's, video games, and my current computer and printer from this place. It's always been a good experience. A few months ago my computer got hit with a nasty virus.
