This one is to Best Buy Corporate and its creditcards provider. I have been a member for 20+ years and never had a problem. Sometimes bought only one item or none within a year and my card was always active. Yesterday I was purchasing a Laptop online and the website declined my payment several times so I called their 1-800 number on my BestBuy Creditcard just to find our they closed because I didn't buy anything for the last 6 months. I asked if they can reactivate my card but their answer was for me to re-apply and get a new one which means have my credit pulled and run leaving a hard inquiry that will affect my credit. Beware of Best Buy now because if you do not buy anything for 6 months, they will force you to re-apply and affect your credit just to have their creditcard. I wanted to take advantage of the 0% but I couldn't get it and I refused to re-apply as they were telling me was the only option I had. Purchased a TV. Hired Geek Squad to install and connect audio home theater. On install date they canceled. With much ado set another time. ( next day) . They never showed. Another appt a week later. GEEK Squad originally installed. Came in installed TV, ten min. Was told to do audio I needed a new receiver. He ordered and setup another install. Person came and stated the receiver was wrong it was to powerful would blow out speakers and sub woofer. She could adapt the system with new connections. But woofer would not work needed new one. This was an additional 129.00 for this install that was not complete. I have been in contact with Corporate Geek Squad and emails to Cori Barry to no avail. Geek Squad offered a refund of 129.00. This was unacceptable. I want the original install amount of 249.00 that was never completed and the second charge of 129.00 that was not completed. A TOTAL NIGHTMARE WITH MUCH INCONVENIENCE LET ALONE MONEY, NO SHOWS AND STRESSFUL DAYS! I made an appointment for iPhone battery replacement. I drove 80 miles round trip for this appointment. Their website promises easy and relatively cheap battery replacement with just making an appointment and showing up to the Geek Squad counter. Here's what the website doesn't tell you- 1) It will cost more than what's listed on the website. 2) They won't replace the battery in your iPhone unless they can "diagnose" it first. Never mind that you checked your battery performance on your phone and followed Apple's recommendation to replace it, and followed Apple's recommendation link for a service center (Best Buy) to fix it. 3) Since your battery is not functioning properly, the chances of your phone staying on are pretty slim right? They can't diagnose your phone's issues unless your phone will power on and stay on long enough to diagnose. 4) If they are able to diagnose your phone, and if they decide it's actually a battery issue and agree to replace it, your phone will be sent away to another location to be worked on. Estimated time 6 hours. Save your time, gas and effort and go someplace else. I drove over to Batteries Plus, had a new battery in my phone in 45 minutes, and now my phone is working great. I am an unhappy, unhelped customer today who scheduled an appointment to have a Dash Camera hardwired on Sunday, October 15th for Saturday, October 21st @ 1:30p. The tech was unbelievably rude, and tole me that we might as well return it as we would have to have the. come out multiple times to repair it. He wouldn't even try to repair it and gave push back when I asked him to do his job. Again, he was so rude that I asked him to leave. when I called to complain, I was told that technicians can refuse to do the work if they feel it would be cost prohibited to the warranty. I've been to this Best Buy location many, many times. I"ve made all kinds of purchases from CDs to iPhones to computers. I've had good service and some not-too-stellar service. Today, I had OUTSTANDING service, which cause me to have a Target Moment. You know the kind. You pop in for something small and hundreds of dollars later, you're leaving the store. Today was the release of the game, Disney Infinity. I've been waiting a long time for this game, and I'm not even a gamer. But I did my research and knew I was going to buy a PlayStation 3. Funny thing is, I pre-ordered the game before having the system. Typical me. Buy socks and build the wardrobe around it. But I digress. I went in to buy the PS3. Seeing a few models, and just wanting to know if there was any other accessory I needed in order to play Disney Infinity, I wanted to speak to someone. I looked around for a bit, and every associate was busy. But then I saw a Best Buy employee who could tell I needed help. He asked me if I did, I said yes, but could tell he was on a mission to get to the register. I told him he could finish what he was doing and get back to me. Turns out he had to clock in. His name is Ramsey, and he answered all my question about the PS3 and Disney Infinity. He was going to buy it after his shift, so he must have done some homework as well. He didn't pressure me to buy things I didn't need, and explained the difference in tips for the HDMI cable. I purchased that as well. I was set to go and he was fast and efficient at the register. Here comes the moment like in Target where you've picked up the toothpaste and then you walk past the Rubbermaid tubs and picture frames. For me, it was more electronics. I walked past the TVs and saw a 50" Panasonic that was $155 off its list price. Since I wanted to replay the smaller TV in the 'Disney' game room, I figured buying a larger TV for the living room and moving that TV would work for me. I found Ramsey again and asked him what he knew about TVs. He said he used to work in the Magnolia section of Best Buy, so he knew a lot. I told him I hadn't done any research on TVs, so he explained the difference between plasma and LED screens. I really learned a lot from Ramsey in 10 minutes that I would have reading online. He did an excellent job describing pros and cons. Because of Ramsey, I walked out with a wallet a little more empty, but with two great purchases. He even loaded it into the car. What service! I remember going there a few years ago and trying to buy a new phone and leaving half way through the transaction. Fast forward to a complete transformation. The primary reason why I would definitely recommend the Best Buy store in Eden Prairie, Minnesota is because of one key team member who helped me. His name was Ozzy and he was SO incredibly helpful! I was in the market to buy a new audio Soundbar and I had a complicated installation setup with the removal of an old TV and old Soundbar and the installation of a new TV and the Soundbar that Ozzy helped me select. Ozzy took his time throughout the selection process to find the absolutely perfect Soundbar for my home. Across two different visits to the store, where he specifically remembered me on my second visit, Ozzy walked me through a variety of Soundbars across a variety of brands. He let me experience demos of each one, multiple times, and shared the pros and cons for each one. He was curious, asked me key questions throughout the process to make sure that I wasn't buying too much power, along with making sure that I wasn't buying something that would be underpowered for my living room. When I ultimately decided on the exact Sony Soundbar that I thought would be best, Ozzy walked me through every step of the way to complete the order and plan for my installation. He shared the benefits of some higher end HDMI cables and we selected the right match for my equipment. Ozzy was patient, kind, funny, engaging, always had a warm smile, and his tone was always calm. I could tell that Ozzy was absolutely committed to making sure that what I was purchasing was going to work perfectly for me. Ozzy was such a professional young man! I was also impressed that when I asked a couple of questions that he didn't know the answer to, that he was absolutely comfortable asking a couple of his team members their advice as to what they thought. You see, Ozzy didn't need to know every answer. Instead, I could tell that he was more committed to finding the right answer for the customer...me! WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! I had paid for my dash cam to be installed at Best Buy. When it stopped working after a year and a half I came to this store to try and figure out what the problem was. (Since that is what the online agent told me to do). I asked for the installation guy to look at it and he refused to even look at it. Telling me that he sees this issue all the time and the only fix was to fully replace the dash cam. The customer service people said the same thing and refused to help in any way. Not caring in the slightest despite me paying 200$ just for the install. Turns out the "expert" was wrong. They pressured me to buy and pay for a new dash cam which I will now have to return once it comes in the mail. I went to the Roseville location where they figured out the power cable had shorted out, due to improper install and could easily be fixed in 15 minutes at no extra charge to me. I don't usually purchase a extended warranty but when I did on a TV I was glad because they replaced it with a new one with no problems what so ever. A nicer Best Buy with unique features and layout. Best Buy world headquarters was actually located in Eden Prairie as recently as 2003, so they have always had a reason to have nice stores nearby. This store has parking located out front, and underneath the store, which is quite unique. In 2010 they also installed a functional windmill that generates a small fraction of the stores electricity. Its more of a test or marketing gimmick then anything else, but it is still interesting. The store inside does feature a magnolia high end home theater area if you are looking to spend some dough. Overall, most of the staff is friendly, somewhat helpful, and knowledgeable to the extent that high schoolers working for minimum wage usually are. The store is very nice, and in a great location. read more

Best Buy is almost always my 1st choice for electronics. My cell phone died on Friday and I wanted to get a cheap short - term replacement as I plan to get a long - term replacement. They only had one phone that was close, but a little more than I wanted for a few weeks. The problem was that my SIM card didn't fit. Best buy didn't sell the correct sized SIM card, so I was stuck going to a Cricket store and getting a phone for a little less; but I had to pay a upgrade fee that brought the price up higher than Best Buy. Just moved to Minnesota absolutely love it here! Today was my second time going in to this store in 24 hours. My Best Buy back home was wonderful in the Mobile department! This store was a bit different to navigate not the issue. I came to upgrade my iPhone. There weren't many people I was told it shouldn't be too long. A manager noticed me waiting asked if I had any questions. He was wonderful! Answered everything! I don't mind waiting my turn BUT! What I don't like is over hearing the sales girl , one of two that are able to hook up the new phones, was sitting there chatting it up with the man in front of her. Flirting during holiday season?! It's Thanksgiving weekend. They spoke of Germany and lots of other things! She was in a whisper leaning over so no one would notice she wasn't doing her job! I noticed. I left. Sat in my car and waited thinking better there? Figured I'd still get my text? I waited so long I may just buy it online? I noticed and listened in because I was next. She isn't commissioned based so she doesn't care how quickly or how many sales are made! Perhaps you need to rethink that ? I needed 2 things- a new frig that could only fit in exact counter dimensions and help with our WIFI at the house. Both people who helped me in the 2 sections of the store were extremely helpful and spent extra time with me to get the right solutions. I was in and out in 45 minutes, very happy to have the problems solved. This store is large with lots of display space so there are plenty of models to touch and open. I wouldn't want to buy a new refrigerator without opening the freezer door, etc. They also delivered it later that same week - hooked up the ice machine, hauled away the old frig. Very easy. Here is an example of why people don't waste their time coming into the stores anymore. My fiancé and I came in tonight to look at upgrading our cell phones. We looked around with no one offering to help. I'm surprised I wasn't attacked by the DirectTV people trying to sell me a dish. We sat down at the cell phone counter with a couple people being helped. Someone came by and said she'd be right with us. After the other guy finished up he walked around a bit, chatted with some other people who weren't doing anything and then asked, "how long have you been waiting here?" We said we had been waiting 10-15 minutes and he said he was sorry he didn't see us. He had committed to helping a couple of older women and said he was going to help us since we had been waiting. They interjected saying they had been waiting for 45 minutes. Mind you... the store wasn't very busy at all. Employees are nearly walking arm in arm chatting, laughing and certainly not working while only two people are able to help with cell phones. We waited. Waited. Someone said she'd be with us in a minute. We waited. waited... and waited. We finally left. What a serious waste of time. I'm sure they didn't even notice we were gone. Why would someone come into a store to wait and not have questions answered. I could have done that online. Do you know what is really a damn shame? No one from Best Buy will read this. Mr. Hubert Joly, Greetings, We ordered Refrigerator, Washer/Dryer through BestBuy online (total value of $3114.01) and these appliances were scheduled to be delivered to my home yesterday, Nov 30, 2014. BestBuy delivers stopped by my home around 2pm, delivered and installed Washer & Dryer, then pointed out the damages on refrigerator, encouraged us not accepted it, but calling delivery center to send the new one to be delivered next day (Dec 1st 2014) morning at 7am. We called 1-888-237-8229 immideterly and spoke with Sean (employee ID#116711) for 30 minutes or more, he explained he had no control on delivery schedule and mentioned BestBuy delivery department is closed on Sunday, he was sure the next delivery would not happen next day. After insisting to speak to Delivery department he transferred us to Brian of BestBuy San Francisco delivery center. Brain was nice to listen our situation and told us he would discuss with Delivery scheduling department then call us back. One hour later he called back and promised the refrigerator will be delivered to my home before noon time, but not on 7am next day which it's today, Dec 1st 2014. He also said we will receive a call from Delivery Department at 4:30pm yesterday to confirm delivery schedule on next morning. We didn't receive any call at 4:30pm yesterday, we called back around 7:30pm - 8:00pm and we were told we would receive a call at 9:00am today (Dec 1st 2014. and We didn't receive call. I (Spring Chen, the mother) called to tel: 209-836-6801 and spoke with nice gentleman Mr.Al. After long discussion with Al on the phone, he asked me to allow him discuss with delivery department regarding my shipment today. Then he told me: the refrigerator will be delivered to my home between 3:30pm - 7:30pm. I appreciated his effort but can't be happy with the result. 1. We have had many choices to purchase appliances around my home or internet, but we chosen BestBuy, it shows our trust to the vendor. This is after talking to 2 different sales people, having them give me the same price and having paid in advance for the service. Needless to say I cancelled the order and wouldn't waste my time in that store again. They would have done better to honor their commitment and keep a customer, but they apparently have short sighted sales practices. read more
