Not to be confused with Bent Buy which is where all the goods are Bent. I used to be a big fan of Best Buy back in the days when buying music albums and music videos and DVDs and movies and whatnot was the big deal for me in my life. Things have changed and of course and the world has changed completely in the last 20 years. I don't really go to Best Buy lately unless I need something specific and electronic for my computer or perhaps headphones and what not. They almost never have what I need at this particular location and I find that the ones in Amherst and Clarence have better and more complete stock. Another thing that those stores do better is service. The two or perhaps three occasions I've been in here over the last few years including just a couple of months ago were not forthcoming in terms of a good service. I'm not sure why the standard of service at this particular Best Buy doesn't seem to quite match the averaged mediocre level from the other two Buffalo area stores that I go to a lot. The only one I can't remember is the Galleria so I can't directly compare to that one. read more

Best Buy Hamburg - Better than worst buy - Computers Near Me - Buffalo, New York

Called today 8/2/25 about a samsung s25 ultra. Was told they have in stock to come in and it would be 1hr to get phone and transfer data. I go and buy new phone, they give me $70 trade in on my phone, Ok fine. Now the reason i was trading in is because it was 4yrs old and charging port only works with certain cords and has to be in just right. I explained this to salesman. He starts data transfer, Says 1hr39min. I got to be to work in 2hrs. Ok hope it goes quicker. Well it doesn't. No ones fault. however..... we were transfering data out on the showroom floor. After 20min salesman says, "ill take this into geek squad area, they have faster wifi" Ok. I mention make sure to keep an eye on battery" after numerous times of checking up with him battery keeps getting lower. i ask him to charge it. He says "we have no wireless chargers open" I said "Do you have any here, ill buy 1 so it doesn't die" He replies "sir that wontr be necessary" Well after 2hrs my phone died, im late for work and data transfer did not complete. So now i am pissed. I said " i have to go to work, give me the phones ill transfer it all later" well since i traded it in i cant take it now and they wont let me buy it back. So he then goes over to a table and puts it on a wireless charger. I about lose my mind. I said " why didn't you do this 2hrs ago when i repeatedly asked you to" Manager comes over and tells me "we can not transfer data in an unsecure location, its company policy" I said "ok, show me company policy where it states that" then he starts rambling about he doesn't have time to look it up. he gave me two options come back and finish transfer tomorrow or leave with a phone that is not fully updated" I said i am leaving with both my phones and will bring the 1 back tomorrow. He said if i leave with phone he is calling cops for grand theft" Not quite sure how a $70 phone is grand theft, but anyways this place is trash and i will be calling corporate about this crap. Got to work and it took 10min to finish transfer. Of course, If he would have only charged it at any point this all could have been avoided. Oh also i was told that no where in store there is an available wireless charger. But yet somehow after my phone died they found one. read more

I went here (best buy in Hamburg NY)to get a charger for my laptop and a kid working at best buy asked if I needed help finding anything and he basically told me I was wrong with what I wanted and sold me the wrong charger even though I urged that I thought he was wrong. So I went home and tried it and of course it didn't work as I suspected so it was a waste of gas, time and money cuz the kid who 'helped' me had a larger head than a brain. Good Evening, I will be returning to your McKinley Mall store tomorrow for a total refund of nearly 3,000 due to SLIP SHOD , incompetent employees. We had purchased a washer, dryer , geek squad yearly thing for 2 hundred dollars and a 70" TV including installation and parts. The purchase PAID in FULL in CASH on 10/14 . The delivery 10/21 . The 3rd party installer showed up , incorrectly measured the doors , never attempted to deliver or remove washer and dryer on the truck . My husband and I were livid. We went to the store at McKinley Mall in Hamburg NY . We spoke to a customer service person who diligently tried to work and smooth things over for us. He arranged to have W+D redelivered and I spoke to and verified this with a national representative, to which this was to occur today. The appointment was made 12-8 pm EST . I was on the phone with overly peppy people 2x asking me the same info over and over . Finally the rep for appliances after 2 holds lasting more than 15 minutes in total - came back on the line and double talked himself with the weakest excuse " the order was not fully completed, it was scheduled for today but it wasn't scheduled completely for today " I lost it . So allowing you to make " good" requires ME waiting until 11/9 for the delivery that was totally and completely paid for 10/14 , 3 expensive, large items. I'm not waiting for 11/9 nor should I. I have ZERO faith in your business and I feel you just do not care. I'm a nurse if i worked like you conduct business- my job would be easy - my patients would be DEAD. I certainly no longer have faith in anyone who works for you GEEK or otherwise drilling holes in my wall . So there you go - this is a promise as my word is true- you are losing a sale. Went to return an Apple Watch on Saturday 9-28-2019 that I had recently purchased. When I got to the customer service desk, the male individual behind the counter was rude and just unfriendly. Yes, they accepted the return but he needs an attitude adjustment. There was a woman who was his manager that was much more professional and willing to help. I have never had a problem like this at any Best Buy. Their salespeople and staff are always friendly and willing to help....but this individual was just a problem. Horrible experience, brought floor model stove at Hamburg NY store. On the day of delivery got a call from delivery people saying store lost the stove, After several calls which is picked up by national employees, and on hold for over 10 minutes each call was transferred to Hamburg Management. Left message 2 times and never received a call back. Went to store, they found the stove claimed it was the delivery service was at fault, Then young man from management advised they do not received the calls. He then said they cannot call delivery and installers everything done by e-mail. Scheduled next delivery for 12/1/2021. Upon arrival was advised connectors not up to code and I needed to get in a plumber to fix. They put appliance in my garage. I made arrangements for plumber and called back and rescheduled remove old stove 12/9 install 12/10. They no showed 12/10 for install. I then had someone else come in to install. Went to store today and requested reimbursement for install. They refused. Said that there was never an appointment for 12/10, again more incompetence. I would rate them a 0 if it allowed me to. We drove to Best Buy in Hamburg from Olean NY. Drove 2 hours in a snow storm to be turned away. I called apple support to start a repair claim on my iPhone 11. I have apple care + and was advised by apple support that my phone damage was covered by my insurance. They set up an appointment for repair at best buy which would be covered by my insurance for a $29 deductible. Best Buy refused to do the repair stating it was not covered under my insurance. I provided them with my case # for my repair. The employee stated the could not take apples word for the repair and refused to fix my phone. I will never come back to Best Buy for anything !!! I ended up going to MacSolutions Plus in Amherst NY. They fixed my phone screen within an hour, COVERED BY MY APPLE CARE. I highly recommend NOT doing business with Best Buy ! More like worst buy. What is the point of making an appointment with these guys when you buy a computer to just sit in line and wait for over an hour beyond the appointment time. Then to take shit attitude from a geek squad "kid" who probably doesn't have a clue on how valuable someone's time is. I decided i wanted a refund and did not want the computer at all. Manager then tells me that he won't refund full amount. I will never ever buy things from you again and i will be sure to tell everyone to stay away from your Hamburg, ny store. Funny, I had a bad experience with their price match guarantee a few years ago as well when I had an add from Radio Shack for two cell phones that would have been $100 cheaper than Best Buy. I really do not like this location, maybe it's all locations, but at this one - the staff seem like they are too busy to help you, but maybe it's because they do not know as much as you might think they would know. It didn't matter who we talked to about what - they seemed to lack the ability to really help you out much! The selection might be huge, but so is the disappointment if you thought you'd get some good sound advice - might as well find a teenager along side the road to help you out, because these nurds just didn't do it for me! While I have no complaints about the store layout, selection, prices, or employees, I did have problems with "hardware Trojans" also known as "hardware implants", essentially modified integrated circuits that can be remotely controlled via 5 gigahertz wireless signals. Most people seem to be unaware of or simply don't mind purchasing electronics that can be remotely administered by unknown and unauthorized persons. The computers sold at this particular Best Buy are hacked and not compliant with manufacturers' specifications, for this reason I have to rate one star. read more

I am using this location because Best Buy suggested, again, that I contact a local store. This one's employees are clueless. Seriously. After many issues regarding the portable dishwasher - wrong color, inability to wash dishes, having to purchase a permanent install for a PORTABLE dishwasher - they have agreed to switch out the one they sent me with one that is the correct color and works. Actually this is about Best Buy On-line and Best Buy policies in general. They offered a Dell Inspiron 3000 pc with Windows 7. I needed windows 7, and this was a basic well priced unit. I filled out all the order information... bought it and got the confirmation email. Yikkkees the email noted Windows 8 for that model and order number. I got right back to them and was told they were "out of Stock" on the Windows 7 Inspiron 3000's. NO mention was made of this during the ordering process... I had to quickly cancel the order. I am a Senior citizen and pretty unsure of my computer skills. When my Dell Inspiron audio stopped I tried the tutorial which you needed sound for. I took my computer into the Hamburg Best Buy and Christian of the Geek squad spent time with 5 different drivers until he finally got audio back. Not only was he efficient, but he was courteous and kind; never made me feel stupid or was demeaning. I was just as happy with my computer being fixed as my treatment in the store. A couple of years ago, I needed to replace the fan in my old Gateway computer because it was failing. At the time, they told me that instead of working on it right there in the store, which is what I wanted them to do, they'd have to send it to their factory where I'd have to wait seven to ten days for a simple part to be replaced. This is what turned me off of the store in its' entirety because I flat out told them to guide me over to the replacement part I'd need and I said I'd fix it myself. Did so and the tower worked like a charm. Some "Geek Squad" that they have. They also wanted to charge me at least a hundred or so dollars when I was a penniless college student who could have used that for books. I was also disappointed when they didn't have any more computers that came with Windows 7 and my mom had to get Windows 8 on her computer, which was a headache and a half to deal with at the start. They were also pushing Chromebooks on her and confusing her further when I flat out told them that for what she needed, a tiny little Chromebook wasn't going to cut it. So, I just said buy a Toshiba and it's served my mom well for years. Unless if you're willing to go through the hassle of their "exceptional" tech quality, I wouldn't recommend it. You'd be better off going to one of the local computer repair shops instead if you want actual and good technical advice instead of being charged out of the butt for all of their bullshit. read more

Went here because they are authorized to help with Apple products. More than disappointing service. There is a mobile phone area in the store that I went to and they asked me why I was there ; I explained my issue with an iPhone. I was told okay to wait. So I waited in that area for more than an hour. Then I noticed that people who had just got there were being helped. I asked about it and then they tell me that my issue needed to be taken care of at the geek squad!? Uh... well ... maybe that would have been good information because I just spent an hour waiting. So I go to geek squad and they inform me that in about 3 hrs they can talk to me. I see.... I go back to the Mobile phone area and they tell me , well do u want to be put in the queue to be helped!? Are you joking!? I've spent more time in the store already than a part time employee!!!! NEVER AGAIN, waste of my time read more

bought a phone for $1 a month on best buy in store at the 24 month device payment program this is $24 total as I was told by the Best buy representative ,A great deal on a cheaper phone , it was a clearance deal. It showed up in my Verizon account as $156? for the phone? I called best buy and they said it was verizon's error. So I called Verizon and they said this was totally wrong that the price on there web site should be the price for the phone for the 24 month payment plan. Best buy should honor there price as advertised on the web site.
