This Best Buy is located in the larger plaza featuring Dick's, Rooms To Go and a few other spots on Dickerson. Like most folks these days, I do most of my shopping online, but there is something about touching a laptop and the keyboard before purchasing. I knew what I was after, so I headed to the discount laptop wall, after a quick test drive, I chose the HP I wanted and headed to the register. Service was ok. They were well staffed, but the associates were all chatting with each other, not too focused on the customers, especially in the computer area. Store is clean and in good condition. In May 2018 I purchased a lg refrigerator from bestbuy and was told I was still active so I started having problems with my lgdoor with i a door five time they came out one time to service it four times to change it each time the came out to exchange the refrigerator they complain about how heavy it is and its to much problem to bring it up because it was the same people who delivered it the first time so they knew what they was getting in too so now overtime they come to delivere the refrigerator they will dent the one on the truck so they will have to come back one of the five time the put down as they exchanged the refrigerator but never did so when we called in the the company on March 30 they said that they exchanged the refrigerator so I read the numbers to them of the refrigerator showing them i have the same refrigerator so the delivery man lied to the company and they lies don't stop i have many case numbers that the operator gave me when looking up the refrigerator they said I was active then they was going to send someone out to replace the refrigerator but that changed then someone came out to do a test on the refrigerator and now they changed again by putting in my Samsung refrigerator as my lg refrigerator the Samsung refrigerator is my tenant refrigerator now they are saying that where my warranty is on but the parts and labor is more they would just replace the refrigerator i need an compressor and a condenser now they are saying that im only covered for the compressor and not the condenser but I was told I was because I we brought a bundle and the reason why I paid for the parts is because all my wife ozempic meds went bad we had 6 boxes and its been two to three weeks without a refrigerator or replacement and when they came out to change the parts I was first told by bestbuy that it was the compressor but when lg came out they said it the compressor and the condenser on my home camera they only came in with there tool bag and when they started talking they was talking in German or Russian so they left after talking to they self for 5 minutes and said they have to order a part the condenser ok so they left but said in one to two days someone will contact me three days went by no phone call so me and my wife contact them and they said through the infestation they couldn't do the repairs we said what infestation we do have any type of bug or mices in our home so I went and took off the panel and took pictures and sent ti to lg a totaled of 12 pictures showing that he lied and the only thing that was on or around the condenser was dust so I brushed it off and took pictures of the dust on the floor and sent it to the and they want me to pay to have some one come to clean what I've just done In 5 seconds There was never any bugs and I want to post the pictures on line if I have a spot to post now 1 from the first time defective refrigerator 2 lied about delivery 3 they dent the new refrigerator 4 they dent the other refrigerator again and blamed it on the warehouse twice 5 they said that they delivered the refrigerator 6 they came out to changed the part the compressor 7 now they said its the condenser and have to order a condenser 8 they lie about saying infestation and it was a little dust on the condenser 9 we even paid to have it replaced 10 its been almost three weeks 11 my wife ozempic meds went bad6 boxes 12 they won't replace ar fix the refrigerator even after we paid for it 13 I can go on but now I'll change to something new about a year and a half ago ive purchase over 12 thousand dollars of electronics for my daughter a complete gaming system and I but the bundle on all electronics at bestbuy and that's where I brought my lg from so I have ove five accounts there and they was supposed to link all together because of the bundle for the electronics I was supposed to be notified to renew my bundle from bestbuy I wasn't notified so again we called to see if they can do something and activate the bundle again they said they will call me and all my gaming toys for my daughter is till in the box in my hallway never been opened and to this very day they still haven't contacted me about my bundle care on the gaming system so onall my electronics ive spent about 20 to 25 thousand dollars on electronics and electrical appliances now im fucked on my refrigerator and my gaming system doesn't have any coverage read more

We purchased an LG washer and dryer combo from Best Buy. We also had a five year service contract on both. The washer needed service and I contacted Best Buy customer service and they sent a tech to repair the washer. The tech accidentally put a small dent in the dryer during the washer repair and was honest and told me about it. The selector dial on the dryer had been getting intermittent and I asked about repairing it. He stated when he came back for the dial issue he would replace the top on the dryer. When I called Best Buy for another appointment, I found out they were not sending the same people out to do the repair on the dryer. I told them that the tech that was originally sent was from LG. They told me that they do not use LG and only use the geek squad. They keep telling me that I have to go to LG to repair the dryer top and I have tried to explain to them several times that they sent this tech to my home and the tech told me I have to go through Best Buy. Best Buy sent this company to my home and now they are not only avoiding responsibility for that, they are telling me that I have to contact LG to get the dent in the dryer top repaired. The company is deceptive and evasive. I contacted the BBB and they were as useless as the Best Buy Customer service. read more

I purchased a tv, mount and sound bar last week with services to install and mount. I was told everything would be installed a few days later, but was contacted by Best Buy to say the tv wasn't in stock and they offered no ETA or solution. They told me I had to keep calling back to reschedule services, but couldn't reschedule because the services showed as 'out for delivery'. There was an obvious system error but no one would help me, and kept telling me to call back. After days of this and no help, I canceled the order. I am still being charged for mounting services that I never received and now have to dispute this charge with Amex. Absolutely horrible customer service. read more

The moment I told him I am not making a purchase for an item I don't even know if you have in stock...the guy hung up on me the moment I said no. This location was once a high end Best Buy with a Magnolia store but now it feels like a bad Electronics Express with less than a 1/5 of the original floor space dedicated to product. I went in on Christmas Eve with low expectations, and I had to wait a while due to understaffing (then again, I'm glad more people didn't get dragged into working Christmas Eve). Placed an online order for one hour pickup/curbside. After over 2 hours the item was still unavailable for pickup. So when posed with the question of how to expedite the order. A manager said he was unable to go any faster in getting it processed but if we canceled the online order we could purchase it directly in store. The young employee even mentioned he sees the TV back there but can't give it to us yet. So the online pick up Is a total scam. I had terrible customer service from this store it was during the coronavirus pandemic March 20, 2020. I went out in the morning to buy a refrigerator and I talked to a woman named Taylor. She explained delivery was free and would be no problem but the soonest they could be delivered was March 31. My refrigerator had stopped working and I explained that to her. Because of it being during the coronavirus pandemic I was in a bind as far as needing somewhere to store my food. I knew we could possibly be confined to our house is in definitely at some point. I told her I needed to check one other store and would possibly be back. I came back in an hour and told her I wanted to buy the refrigerator. She informed me that within the last hour they decided that they would not deliver the refrigerator to me they would only drop it off in the driveway and would not set it up or come into my house. I asked her if she had canceled all the other previous deliveries up until the 31st and she said yes. This is exactly why no one should go to the store and buy anything. These people don't care about you or what you need at any time. I drove a few blocks down the road and bought a better refrigerator for less money and was delivered in three days The sales person at the store in Madison, in the appliance center named Taylor was very rude and had terrible customer service skills. I tried to pick up an online order that was supposed to be in a locker at the front of the store. There were no locker and nobody willing to assist me inside the store. I went to my car and tried calling inside the store and the calls are all being rerouted to another location where they attempted to help with online issues only. They tried transferring me to six different numbers inside the Rivergate location and no answer so needless to say I was forced to leave without my online purchase and I'm not sure how to fix this so that my grandchildren get their Christmas gift in time for Christmas. I purchased a PS5 online on December 13th, 2023. I went in for the pickup same day around 5:30PM. After checking out I noticed the box was already damaged. Considering this is an electronic device retailing over $500.00 I was not comfortable taking a damaged box. I immediately declined it and requested an exchange. The Best Buy rep at the door acted as if it would be too much trouble to exchange it. Another guy came, and said, you can go to the pickup a see if they can change it I doubt if we have more. I politely asked could you check he said no. "Not knowning he was the manager on duty he definitely didn't provide management services ". I went back to the pickup counter and requested a replacement/exchange. The rep tried but it didn't allow him too. A manager name "Gabriel " same guy from earlier "Tried" to void the transaction but "it wouldn't work" . He said come back after 24 hours an we can try. I'm upset because for one your Best Buy staff is handing out products in damaged boxes which could increase the potential of damages whether now or down the line,l. Some things change over time. It is possible that I have changed a preconceived opinion or training and hiring has improved. Many moons ago the staff was trying their best to sound smart to go after those that don't spend their time researching products and technology before going into the store. This often led to customers purchasing items that didn't meet the need or was far above the requirements. Over the last year I have decided to give BestBuy (specifically this location) a chance again. Time and time again I'm finding employees that seem like they care more about helping versus just being on the floor. I admit 90% of the time I enter the store I have either made a purchase online with a pickup or know exactly what I'm looking for however the staff always seems to greet me and at least ask if I have questions or need help. Days of physical retail stores have changed. Best Buy is making an effort to address this with price matching and smiling faces. Thus far I've been impressed with the progress they are making and will continue to keep them in mind for my needs. read more

I went in yesterday to upgrade my phone. Worked with David and he opened my Verizon account using my phone number. I was told that I could trade in my current iPhone for the standard iPhone 14 and only have to pay the taxes and a $45 fee. I agreed and purchased the iPhone 14. I was told I needed to take my reformatted iPhone to a Verizon store to have it sent back to get the credited trade in. I went to Verizon today to be told my trade in value is HALF of what David at Best Buy told me!! When I returned to Best Buy, I got no help in resolving it! I went in to buy a series 2 watch left with nothing. I spent 30 minutes waiting for an associate. Their customer service is absolutely horrible. A manager then comes up ask if I need assistance. I accepted only to be told, she is with a customer that I would need to wait longer. At which point I was done. I'll buy my electronics from some where else. They care nothing about there customers. First let me say that I have been a loyal Best Buy customer since 1995 when I first discovered the location in Racine Wisconsin. I read the other reviews of this location and had no choice but to chime in. I am sorry that some people had a bad experience there. Given the volume of shoppers that they have three negative reviews is not all that bad. We know that if a person has a bad time they will tell everyone that they can but if they have a good experience they are not all that likely to share that information. Now this location has been nothing but good to me. I spend quite a bit of money there. In fact I just bought another computer there yesterday. I pay a little more here because of the sales tax and the fact that their prices are a little higher quite often than what I see online. But I want to be able to walk into a place and be helped and the General Manager and his crew have always been there for me! I was getting some modifications done on my new computer by the Geek Squad and I observed an outstanding instance of customer service. I knew I was going to be there for awhile so I took a seat and was doing the social network thing on my Galaxy S2. A guy walked up and was very upset because the bulb on his rear projection TV had died on Christmas Eve and now he was going to have to interact with his children (his words). This man was rude, crude, and socially unacceptable. An associate that used to work in TVs came up to help him. She's actually sold me two TVs since I've been here in Nashville. She is running computers now. She explains to this guy that based on the usage he wants a rear projection TV was not a good idea and that she would have to order the bulb. Well he goes on a rant and she just hung right in there doing the customer service dance and doing it well. This man was angry at Best Buy because he bought this TV there five years ago. Now in reality under normal use the bulb would have lasted longer but his is on basically 24/7 so that cut the life of the bulb at least in half. So after a long and protracted conversation the man now understood that his best bet was to buy a new TV that would be far more suitable to his viewing requirements. Now let's analyze what happened here. This associate could have simply passed this guy off to the TV department or the Geek Squad since it was not even her department. But instead she saw a problem and took ownership of it. That alone deserves kudos but let's go a little further. She took an amazing amount of crap for 30 minutes but was able to turn the guy around and get him to understand what he really needed to do. That goes to two major areas in retail sales; customer service skills and product knowledge. Those are, in my opinion, the two most valuable assets to a successful sales career. As I was leaving very happy this man was also leaving very happy with a new gigantic TV and a smile on his face. He looked over at me and we exchanged Christmas greetings and we were both on our way. This was a job well done by this associate and the next time I see her in there I am going to tell her just that. This is one example of many that I have seen in this location that show what kind of team this General Manager has put together. Kudos to the General Manager at Best Buy of Rivergate. I usually don't shop Best Buy. My parents had an issue with the one in Evansville, IN many moons ago which resulted in my parents taken Best Buy to small claims court and winning. Therefore, Best Buy was always a four letter (and three letter) word. I will drop all that for a good deal however. They had a sale on some spot treatment carpet cleaner stuff. At Best Buy, random, I know. You had to order the stuff online and use site to store. This location was the closest one that had the stuff. I entered the store around 8:15pm on a weeknight. The place was dead. There was more employees walking around than customers. I'm honestly surprised that Best Buy is still a viable company. I've always thought the prices were on the high side, but I order most of my electronics from Amazon. Anyway, I was greeted by the person that works the front door, she pointed me to the store order pickup spot. The woman that helped me was fast but not the friendliest. I was in and out in 5 minutes. I like Best Buy, and I'm a Premier Silver Reward Zone member. I love my home theater that I bought there, and they usually beat everyone else on smart phones. Unlike some electronics stores, I've never been lied to by a Best Buy employee. And their employees are always willing to talk to me about products, even when it's obvious that I'm not ready to buy yet. Recently, I've returned two items that didn't work out for me. Each time, they didn't give me a hard time. They just took my product, asked why I was returning it, gave me my money, and sent me on my way in a minimum amount of time. With all that said, I hate shopping there for computer components, peripherals, and accessories. It truly pains me to say this, but I really miss having a Fry's available. Best Buy's selection is very limited, and their prices are way too high, especially for any kind of cable. read more

Honestly, this was the worst customer service I've ever received in my life. I literally made an account just to warn others about this store. I went to the store to purchase a laptop for college. I told them I was in a hurry and asked if they had it in stock. It was a Lenovo Yoga 2 and it was on sale. They said yes, and they would go get it. Easy transaction, right? Wrong. After sitting for over an hour waiting for them to find it, and constantly reminding them that we could come back another day every 15 minutes, they told us it was out of stock. Our sales rep confirmed in writing that we'd receive the sale price if we came back another day. (Mind you, we are driving 30 minutes to come to the store in the first place.) We call back on their next shipment day, and they inform us it's the wrong model. We return the next day, and they tell us they can't do the sale price anymore. When we tell them we have in writing that they would, they tell us that there's nothing they will do. We ask to talk to a store manager, and the employee REFUSED US TO TALK TO THE MANAGER. We buy the laptop on bestbuy.com at the store to be shipped because it's necessary for school. After calling customer service, we're told the store manager will work out the solution with us. So now, on our 5th visit to this Best Buy, we are made to WAIT OVER ONE AND A HALF HOURS because the store manager is 'AT LUNCH' at 4:30pm. When we start making a public complaint, the store manager conveniently returned from lunch. At this point, we are speaking with a store manager, two assistant mangers, and 3 employees. The manager refuses to apologize for the crap customer service and making us wait over 3 hours and make 5 trips! He said he'll do the original sale price and nothing more. Really? I even told him that my family was going to buy another laptop for home and he could simply offer a small discount and we'd be happy. He stated, I'm going to nothing more than the original price. We wanted the original price at first. But after 5 trips?! Come on! So we take the original price, which is only offered on store credit. I went there to buy a TV stand for my new SONY flat screen, and encountered a group gossip session of sales people that obviously didn't want to help. They were even gathered within 5' of the stands, I had to excuse myself to get to the other side of them to view the rest of the stands! Having been in customer sales in a previous job long ago in 1968, this would have gotten us fired then, but one was definitely a manager so it may have been a meeting.
